Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable punched one of his assistants on Aug. 6 at the team's training camp headquarters in Napa, Calif., several media outlets reported on Monday.

"It's an internal issue, I'm not going to comment on that," Cable said on Monday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Web site National Football Post first reported that defensive assistant Randy Hanson was punched in the jaw by another member of the Raiders staff. Unidentified sources later told Fanhouse.com that Cable hit the third-year assistant.
Hanson reportedly did not want to pursue the matter, but staff at Queen of the Valley Hospital alerted authorities, according to Fanhouse.com.

"The victim didn't even want any police action taken," Napa Police Lt. Brian McGovern told the Web site, "but we were following hospital policy that authorities be contacted in cases where there may have been an assault."

Hanson suffered a fractured jaw. McGovern said, according to the Web site, that the Napa Police consider the matter closed "unless we are re-contacted by the victim, and the victim changes their mind that they want us to follow through and pursue an investigation. At this point we're not doing anything else with it."

McGovern said the police report has not been made public over privacy concerns.

When contacted by ESPN.com, an NFL spokesman said the league would not comment on the matter.

Cable had a regularly scheduled meeting with the media scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday.

We had a good game last week vs. the Eagles.
Offense was able to score points. Defense, special
teams played well also. Good to see the draft picks
step up, play hard. Two a days are helping. We still
have many areas to improve on. We have new players
who have to get used to our playbook.
We have a tough opponent this week in the Bengals.
They are coached well, tough on offense & defense.
They can be explosive on special teams. They have good,
smart defenders. We need to be ready for any plays they develop.
This is the time of year to shake off the rust of the off season.

If the Vikes were not high on Jackson, they could have had
Matt Cassel, who only went 11-5 for the Pats after not starting
a game ever in the NFL last year. Chiefs signed him in January

They could've had Mike Vick for 1.3 mil. 1.3 mil, for a guy who
is ready to prove himself again.

They could've had Jake Cutler for heaven's sake.

Instead, they chose the 39 year old Farve for 10 mil, who admitted
three weeks ago he was too tired to play.
The same Farve who has caughed up the last two playoff games
he's appeared in. The same Farve who looked lousy with the
J E T S. I guess if I had 10mil waived in front of me,
I'd find Geritol & play as well if I was tired.

This is just to stick it to the Packers fans.

This could be a mistake on the part of the Vikes.
What were they thinking?

NFL must be loving this from a tv ratings standpoint.

Has there ever been any year where QB's around the league
in so many cities are major stories?
