Alert Board Moderator about this Post!
We did a similar thread a long while ago, but with time comes more plays and more variety.  Since I got a new computer in January, I started from scratch, and my top 25 have been (from a small sample size):

Neal Casal/Sundowntown (demo)
Son Volt/Cemetery Savior
Jackson Browne/These Days
Velvet Underground/Oh Sweet Nuthin
Whiskeytown/Houses on the Hill
Neil Young/Big Time
Ryan Adams/Cold Roses
Warren Zevon/Carmelita
Whiskeytown/Crazy Lonesome (a Memory Away)
Whiskeytown/Barn's On Fire
Free/Ride on a Pony (live)
Tom Petty/Jammin' Me
Black Keys/Your Touch
CSNY/Everybody I Love You
George Jones/He Stopped Loving Her Today
Ryan Adams/Magnolia Mountain
Chris Robinson/Red Road
Cracker/Mr. Wrong
Flying Burrito Brothers/Hot Burrito #1
George Harrison/Beware of Darkness
Rolling Stones/Crazy Mama'
Johnny Cash/I Heard That Lonesome Whistle Blow

Just restored my iPod.  So unfortunately my top 25 are just the last couple of albums I listened too-LOL  (mainly Bob Dylan's new album, Guggenheim Grotto-Happy the Man, Chris Issak- Mr Lucky).  Pretty boring...... Wink

How do you access the 'most played' on an i-Pod Classic?

I can access the 'top 25' on my iTunes.

I felt like that for a long time. I was concerned that by getting an i-Pod, I would be discarding all the CD’s I have listened to and cherished for all these years. However, this has turned out to be not the case.

All my i-Pod has done is to replace my old Disc Man. I listen to it on the train to work and occasionally at home.

I particularly enjoy the freedom of being able to create my own compilations and playlists. It is almost harking back to the days when I would spend hour-upon-hour creating comps on cassette – its still time consuming this way too!

I still buy CD’s and despite having my i-Pod for nearly a year now, have yet to purchase a single track from i-Tunes.

Long live the CD and vinyl.

A large proportion of the music on m actual i-pod is not in my i-Tunes library.

Like I said, I can view the top-25 most played from my i-tunes playlist, but not from my i-Pod.

I don't understand  Sad

HTM, you make great points.  For myself, time is not my friend for another technology.  I suppose I will come around several years from now.

I'm no fan of constant audio in my ears, like playing my iPod 24/7 - I use  it in the car (with a tape deck of FM adapter) or I'll use the headphones while jogging, mowing the lawn, etc.  If I'm looking forward to a new album, I'll always purchase the physical copy, but for hard-to-find or older songs/albums, iTunes works for me.

I think JG played with Ratdog's band, the way he plays with Phil and Friends.  No recording that I know of yet.

I actually like "I Ain't Hiding" though the live version sounds much better and punchier.  Rich's solo is one of his best yet.  But what I'm more interested in hearing is the rest of the tunes that came outta Cabin Fever.

I've got a rough mix of the new stuff.... I'm not happy with it. Its too New Earth Mud sounding if you know what I mean. Chris has taken another sappy turn and the rootsy retro strut rock of Warpaint is gone. He's even singing about Mermaids on one song.

Ah, I can get into some NEM stuff, but I wouldn't want the Crowes going that way.  I'm sure out of all the dozens of tracks they recorded, they could at least put together a good 12 song album, no?

I'm not feeling it. I just cant get into it and keep hitting the skip button. Not enough of that classic Rich Robinson Crowesy geetar sound. Its just too mellow. Maybe it'll grow on me...

Either way, I know I'll be getting the new stuff on release day, one of the few artists that I'll do that for nowadays.  Even a few new crunchy riffs from Rich make it worth it, to be honest.

I'm sure I don't care to examine which songs are played the most but I'm sure it's mostly Stones & Heart of Glass by Blondie.
