STATE OF SHOCK AS A TRIBUTE ON THE NEXT TOUR?????

Shit!

I donīt know whatīs your opinion...I mean Stones always have played songs as a tribute to some artist as Elvis,Muddy Waters,Ray Charles and James Brown like in the last tour...

Is it possible to hear State Of Shock???
Maybe they can play it like Mick did it in Live Aid with Tina...
With Lisa and Bernard on stage thereīs a posibility

not gonna happen,
MJ was controversial and mick is a chicken-shit coward...
and..... i always felt jagger distanced himself from the song at the time - after all, wasn't 'she's the boss' on the horizon?  i think mick thought he was too cool and edgy for MJ.....lol.....'just another night' anyone?
state of shock was a greater song than jagger ever realized, better and funkier than most 80s, 90s stones.

It's been on my iPod for YEARS!!! I have always thought the song was one of the funkiest grooves either artists put out!

A duet w/ Lisa would be sweet!!!

NO! It's not a Stones song. It'd be cool if they did a tribute song, but not State of shock. Maybe "who's loving you." It has a bluesy "time is on my side" type of vibe.

Isn't that the point of a "tribute"? LOL

Yeah but Mick was in the original. It just wouldn't feel right you know? It'd be like them playing something off of Mick's solo albums to me.

Tributes are all well and good, but only when they do them to an artist who influenced them. Jacko didnt.

And State of Shock is a subpar song not only by his standards but even by the standards of Mick's solo work.

You aint missing much (and its actually a Jacksons record - as opposed to a Michael Jackson solo record).

Mick sang it with Tina Turner at Live Aid.

Jacko wasnt very impressed with Mick's vocal skills during the studio session apparently. Mick sang it pretty flat the first few times, prompting Jacko to scoff out loud "How did HE get to be a star?"  Blank Frigging Stare

Van Halen Heartbroken Over Jackson
Posted Jun 25th 2009 9:30PM by TMZ Staff

He provided the rock guitar solo in Jackson's hit song "Beat It." TMZ has just heard from Eddie Van Halen on Michael Jackson's death:

"I am really shocked; as I'm sure the world is, to hear the news. I had the pleasure of working with Michael on 'Beat It' back in '83 -- one of my fondest memories in my career.

Michael will be missed and may he rest in peace."

not for me,
those funk guitar licks on the fade-out are fucking fantastic and it has that thumping bass/drum driving the whole song....
mick was half-assing it, probably thought he was too cool to be singing on an MJ song....
only to unleash 'She's the Boss' to the world, masterpiece that it is.
i remember hearing this at a 4rth of july or memorial day picnic and someone blasting it from a boombox and it sounded... funky....

I'm a huge fan of some of Mick's solo stuff & whilst State of Shock is a guilty pleasure, I concede that it's not a great song.

i wouldn't claim it as an epic track either,
but it was a great groove and was popular on the radio, and was most likely filler for the jacksons....
but for Mick circa 1984-89, it was a fucking masterpiece.

Good find. This might eb the "flat voiced" Jagger that Gazza referenced earlier.

Just kidding. It sounds like Freddie.
