Just the local watering hole - okay, quite a famous one given it's location to Government Buidlings here, but still 'tis the "local" watering hole for us on this street. Who walks in last night but the one and only Neil Young!!

Got the chance to chat with the great man, got an autograph, AND, bought him and his wife a pint of the black stuff!

A very Gracious & righteous dude, I got the most of my few minutes chatting with him and imparted as best I could my admiration for his music. On quite a high cloud here this morning after meeting the great man......^

I saw that he played the old Springfield gem "Burned" the other night while he was there... for the first time, probably, since 1966! Very cool stuff. Congrats!

Gaz, my good man, not only did you nearly fall off your chair, I neary fell off mine when he walked in with his wife^!!

Absolutely surreal - myself & some colleagues go to Reilly's once or twice a week for a few tipples, it's just on the corner of Merrion Street here. When Neil ambled through the doors it was just a stunning rock moment^

My friend Joseph chatted up Neil's missus at the bar andI took my chance to venture over (with paper and pen from our favourite barmaid Yana^), and say a few words to the great man. Chatted for a few minutes - just told him how long I'd been listening to his music, asked how he liked Dublin; he said he'd been enjoying alking around Stephens' Green and enjoyed the cosy li'l pub right here, Reilly's! He loves Ireland, and found the people very friendly.

I left him be to enjoy his pints; Yana told Mrs. Young I had picked up the tab, and before he left, over came Neil, a tap on the shoulder, handshake and a sincere 'Thank You' for the drinks!!

They bought some of the Reilly's T-Shirts to bring home aswell^

Wonderful stuff!

A know a couple people who saw the Stones' Wiltern show a few years back where Neil was in the audience. The word, then, was he was pretty hard to get to and 'chat' with.

Your experience is a true gem. Cherish it.

No separate acoustic/electric sets like he did last year, Jo - but he did play acoustic guitar on a few songs, and piano on "Are You Ready For The Country" and "on The Way Home".

Did he happen to mention the release date of 'Archives, Vol. 2'?

I think I've been in that bar & I know I've met Gearoid so even though I'm not Neil's biggest fan, I feel a connection. It actually sounds like a great setlist. I was afraid he'd play his "lesser known" stuff.

Neil and his band headline Friday nights Glastonbury festival lineup...then Bruce and the boys on Saturday night, I hope we get complete show video from both of them! I've been absorbing the blu-ray version of the Archives Vol. 1 set...I couldn't find the card that allows me to download the music in mp3 format from his website...I loked closer at the box and saw that I had missed a cigar box shaped box in the left end...it also contained the 1968 Canterbury DVD!

Looking back a couple years, 17 would be considered "a tad short" simply in setlist numbers, but not necessarily running time.

Paul hugged Young and bowed to him several times before sharing the microphone on The Beatles classic. Young was performing at Hard Rock Calling.
