What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

First Legal Marijuana Coffee Shop Opens in Colorado January 4, 2013 at 8:05AM by Zoe Bain

Colorado is taking a page (or perhaps a leaf) out of Amsterdam's book with the opening of its first marijuana-friendly coffee shop. The Front Tea & Art Shop recently opened in Lafayette. Colorado's citizens voted to legalize cannabis in November.

According to The Boulder Daily Camera, The Front & Tea Art Shop is a normal tea and coffee shop during the day, but at night cups of hemp coffee can be legally enjoyed alongside a joint or vaporizer. Owner Veronica Carpio calls the nightime storefront the Hive Co-Op. For now, it's BYOC (bring your own cannabis) while the state figures out how to proceed with its new legalization amendment.

Customers who show up to the co-op must show a valid ID and be at least 21 years old. There's a 1-ounce limit and a $5 cover charge to enter the coffee shop after dark. For now the sale of marijuana is not allowed at The Front & Tea Art Shop, although participants are allowed to share and even trade their "goods."

Carpio hopes that her co-op will serve as a spot for people to come together, relax, and "engage in deep discussions." In addition to her beverage selections, the co-op owner also offers board games and special lighting.

In the future, Carpio hopes to organize, "drum circles, painting events, growing seminars, movie nights, and bake-offs where customers can judge one another's edibles." At the moment, however, authorities in Colorado have some catching up to do. A task force has been brought together to help find the best way to safely legalize the industry under new Amendment 64. Until the rules are figured out, Carpio will have to stick to purely sharing and trading marijuana at her co-op.

Her current enterprise doesn't seem to be a problem for Lafayette police. "They do not appear to be violating any laws. She's reciting Amendment 64 to a T. She knows the law very well," said police Commander Gene McCausy.

Eight former Drug Enforcement Administration chiefs say the federal government needs to act now or it might lose the chance to nullify Colorado and Washington's laws legalizing recreational marijuana use.

The onetime DEA heads plan to issue joint statements Tuesday saying the Obama administration has reacted too slowly and should immediately sue to force the states to rescind the legislation.

The Associated Press received an advance copy of the statement Monday.

One of the former DEA administrators, Peter Bensinger, told the AP that the more time goes by, the harder it'll be to stop the two states. Marijuana is illegal under federal law.

Bensinger, who lives in the Chicago area, said the government must immediately sue the states or risk creating "a domino effect" in which other states follow suit.

"My fear is that the Justice Department will do what they are doing now: do nothing and say nothing," said Bensinger. "If they don't act now, these laws will be fully implemented in a matter of months."

Has anyone heard of a kind of weed called Cloud Burst?   I got it about two weeks ago and that's what the lady called it.  To me it looks like green sin semilla.  Although it's fairly dry, it doesn't stay lit easily.
