Hey guys
trying to get my head around the Stones Dead Flowers solo.

The song is in D.
Chords are D A G

one lick is here :
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/r/rolling_stones/dead_flowers_tab.htm

it sounds great, and seems to be in D and G

another lick i have found is here :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjLP_xI20Fg&feature=related

it also sounds great, but is in Bm Pent.

so I guess what is doing my head in is ... why is the lick using the Bm Pent ?

does anyone know of a decent TAB of this solo, or should I just keep noodling about.

love playing it, and would love to nail it.

Playing Stones songs is even better than listening to em me thinks. What the fuck?

I've always played in the key of D, trying playing along with the recording, & then you know if it's the right key, I came across this, tabs for a lot of The Stones songs.

It looks to me like he's just playing pentatonic off the D on the 3rd string, 7th fret. You can find great tabs on ultimate-guitar.com. If you buy or illegally download guitar pro you can slow down tabs, play along, analyze, etc...

Bm pent? wtf is that?  Blank Frigging Stare
I'd say keep on noodling & stabbing at it. it's fun as long as it's fun.
here's my take on it from '95 or so ...lol

Bm is the relative minor of the D family, so there's bound to be some overlap there. Sort of like how you can play A-minor-ish lines in the key of C...
