I heard Charlie Watts is a real buff on American Civil War history. Can't imagine why.  Undecided

I hit two yard sales yesterday, but didn't see anything I wanted. Well, except a bear, chain saw carved  out of a log, but they wanted more than I was willing to pay,

Last year, I found Willie Nelson's greatest Hits and Waylon and Willie at a thrift shop.  Both in good shape and both vinyl.  Which reminds me to have a listen. Let's go get drunk Let's go get drunk Let's go get drunk

You can always find some really good deals at yard sales. But I check out the thrift stores quite alot for neck ties and jackets. Shoes, trousers and shirts at thrift stores usually suck. Underwear?....well you usually find the best deals at yard sales.

I think you can find quality clothes and shoes, but you have to look for quality.   I've been able to find really good things, shoes made in the mountains of Italy (almost new)  and great leather jackets.

Yes jackets. I've found a couple of nice leather ones over the years but I never had much luck with shoes. Neckties?....well, I don't have to wear one anymore so I don't hunt 'em much.

one of my better recent finds was an (almost new) Coach bag for $7.49 plus tax.

This thread is Stones relevant because Mick is very very frugal.   So there we go...Mick  would always love a bargain.

He did study to be an Economist at LSE!

obviously no one gives a flying fuck about this thread except you and and ttm.  i guess nobody likes to "shop" for good stuff.
i used to hang with a girl back in the early '90's who used to use a marlboro light box for a purse until she upgraded to a coach bag....true story.

piss off

I purchased a World Globe about a foot big, and a maxfield parrish reprint all for 10 dollars. How I wish I could bargain better---although i did get her down from 14 dollars

I recently had a sale and this woman bargained [OR BEGGED] with me until I was going to let her have it free! or hit her over the head with the goods! She hAD ME FRIED.

My girlfriend sold all her hubbies albums --much to his dismay !  Retarded post

my father, who's in his 60's and has never smoked a cigarette in his entire life, recently held a yard sale and refused to haggle with a women who offered him 75 cents for an ashtray he was hawking for $1.

Instead, he defiantly held tight to his asking price and is still stuck with an ashtray that he has absolutely no use for.

What can I say? The old dude doesn't like to bargain.
