I know that some posters here put them into the same categorey as The Eagles.
I dunno, I just think they're a great band. And I don't even tend to like most of their music.
Just some of it....

Tin Soldiers and NIXON coming ..................... Four Dead in Ohio !!!!!

" Ohio
lyrics by Neil Young "

" Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio. "

They are too mellow for my liking.   They may be a great band.

That said, I'm wearing their "Southern Cross Accoustic Tour 1992"  as I type b/c I got at at a thrift shop for 50 cents.

Sorry, but they are one of my all time faves---collectively and individually. Massive talent there. Have never heard a Stephen Stills song I didn't like....and David Crosby...love his voice. And he's written some amazing songs as well. Love Neil Young as well. After the Gold Rush is just classic.

So, don't shoot me... Blank Frigging Stare Ouch! Wow!

Traveled twice to Florida to see them in recent years. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

So to summarize your first three posts:

* Nothing the Stones did with Ron Wood is any good.
* Keith Richards, hero to many of us on this board (you should know since you're a longtime lurker) no longer looks "human"
* The third and fourth CSN albums, which contain tracks like See The Changes, Southern Cross, Shadow Captain, and Delta, can be characterized with the word "yech."

Good start.   Roll Eyes

I'm just a wise-arse...no harm meant!

-I don't care for any of the Wood-era Stones, although the occasional song isn't too bad...don't own any albums after IORR, though...

-Keith is a hero of mine, too!! Love his guitar playing, singing, songwriting...just having a playful jab at his present appearance (due sadly to too much drugging and drinking in the 70s)...

-Totally forgot about Southern Cross...great, great song!

When I first heard Southern Cross.....well, I thought I'd heard the best of Stephen Stills with things like "Carry On", his solo albums, Manassas..........but I knew right away that this was the best Stephen Stills song EVER! Grin You rock!
