Thursday , May 07, 2009 "

" O’Neal said of Fawcett’s treatment that it has “pretty much ended.” The “Charlie’s Angels” star, 62, was diagnosed with anal cancer, which recently spread to other parts of her body, including her liver.

“She stays in bed now,” O’Neal said. “The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment.”

The iconic beauty spends time watching television and receiving visits from friends, O’Neal said.

“I can’t hear a song, I can’t pass a place that we were together, without being stabbed in the heart,” he said. “A week ago Farrah said to me, ‘Am I going to make it?’ and I said, ‘Yes, you’ll make it. And if you don’t I’ll go with you.’”

A recovering drug addict, O’Neal and Fawcett’s son Redmond O’Neal is awaiting transfer to a lockdown rehab facility for charges that he was caught with heroin at a jail facility north of Los Angeles.

Ryan O’Neal told People that he lies to Fawcett about their son’s troubles because “it’s the best thing.”

Well.....if the thunder don't get you the lightning will. We're all only here for a short time. Cancer is an especially painful and slow way to go. Like they say..... morphine is God's gift to dying people.

I watched it. It was hard to watch. Brought back some bad memories for me---I battled breast cancer in 2001, and you never, NEVER forget how horrid chemo is. Even though Farrah's cancer is much worse than mine was, some of the treatments were the same, and I could certainly sympathize--even with the losing one's hair part. Miniscule in the scheme of things, but traumatic none-the-less. Cancer is such a horrible thing....a "terrorist", as one of her doctors called it. Sad

I tuned in when Farrah was pondering if she'll ever see Rain again ("Do they have rain in heaven")
I have new found respect and admiration for this woman.

She will be in my prayers as I do not think she has long to live.
