I'm sure this has been discussed here, but i'd assumed the "unreleased tracks" were just the shit we've already heard on boots...
but with names like "Plunder my Soul", Following the River" and especially, "Sophia Loren", my heart is just all a-flutter....
Could this be a major event in Stonesdom or just another crumb?
Just when you think nothing could be new, Jagger pulls something out of his ass....
The songs recorded for Exile stretched back over multiple sessions covering a period of a couple of years, Texile. I think it would be a bit pessimistic to just assume that all we'd get was a sonically improved version of the same 90 minutes or so of music that's circulated on various bootlegs. Every major act who has released studio archive releases down the years has managed to put out plenty of material that hadn't been bootlegged and in many cases didn't even know existed.
Have to say I didn't expect any new/previously unheard of TITLES to be unearthed. And the nme.com story the other today regarding the 2010 tour mentions 'a host of unreleased songs' including the three which have been specifically named. Whether that means more actual outtakes or merely alternate versions of released tracks is conjecture at the minute. Probably the latter, but I'm hopeful there'll be several alternate takes which we haven't heard before.
'Travellin' Man' with a finished vocal take would be something to hear.
