A grand jury has indicted the man accused of killing Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two others when a minivan smashed into their car last month.

Orange County prosecutors say Andrew Gallo was indicted Wednesday on three counts of murder and three other felonies for the April 9 crash.

Gallo already faced similar charges, but prosecutors say the indictment will help expedite the case by skipping the preliminary hearing.

Police say Gallo had nearly triple the legal blood-alcohol level when his minivan ran a red light and crashed in Fullerton.

Adenhart died hours after he made his season debut by pitching six scoreless innings. Two others were also killed and a third was critically injured

joe mauer will not leave the twins....at least not now. he's more popular here than any athlete since kirby puckett...and that includes AP....his MN roots are deep, having grown up in st paul. he also happens to be the best catcher in the majors. and with the new stadium...he and moreau ain't going nowhere. the twins would be crazy to let him go. mauer makes the twins brass look like nostradamus for picking him over mark prior in the 2001 draft....

test joe to be safe, but i'd be surprised. the man can flat out hit. he's the tony gwynn of this era IMO. staying healthy is his biggest problem, which is why twins brass out to move him to 3rd. (we have another good young prospect at triple A who could take over behind the plate and get his body abused).

as for the recent power surge, everyone has always thought he was capable of hitting for power as well as average, but we have been waiting for those skills to develop. now they're here!

dude needs to catch some respectable veteran pitching however....we got the closer and a few decent starters, but sheesh...baker and liriano are tanking worse than motels's last six threads.
