L'Wren's "Too Much Blood" Collection, plus more celebs wearing L'Wren, plus L'Wren party pic"I hate being objectified. Because I am so tall, I have people telling
me what is wrong with me all day long. It's pretty awful. You have to
have a really great backbone and sense of self."
No, L'Wren is not talking about Stones fans on the internet, she's
talking about vicious petty fashionistas when she was a model,
though I agree its sometimes hard to tell the difference...
Lucy Liu and Madonna wearing L'Wren:
L'Wren saved all the money she made from baby-sitting and helping
with homework and, at 17, telling her parents she was visiting a friend
in New York, she bought a one-way ticket to Paris. "I really wanted to
work in fashion from the design point of view," she explains. "But I
knew I couldn't afford to be educated at fashion college." Instead,
her plan was to get into modelling and see what happened. She
arrived in Paris speaking no French, chose a hotel on the basis
that Jim Morrison had died there (obviously already something
of a rock groupie), changed her name to L'Wren Scott and gave
herself a week to meet all the people who mattered in fashion...
Renee Zelwegger, Nicole Kidman, and L'Wren wearing L'Wren:
Jagger showed he was ready to take the relationship with Scott
a step further when he chose his 60th birthday party in Prague
to make his first public appearance with her. A measure of her
understanding of him came in a telling gesture there. A friend
said: "L'Wren organised everything about the party. It was her
idea to fill it with sexy, mini-skirted girls on podiums for Mick's
enjoyment."
Nicky Haslam, L'Wren's close friend: "They scream with
laughter at the same things. They like the same food, the same
decor and the same people. Of all his partners, she's the one
who seems nearest to him and his tastes and the way he likes
to live. He loves her style, she's incredibly stylish, I think. She's
also very observant and witty, and he adores that."
L'Wren's Fall 2007 collection was called "Too Much Blood":
They are kindred spirits, according to a friend of Jagger: "They
both love the arts, cinema and fashion, and they have quiet
intellectual conversations. But both have a kind of recklessness,
which means they aren't afraid to try new things."
How wonderful for Mick to have finally hooked up with somebody
who isn't an eternally bitchy drama queen. Pic of the happy
couple celebrating 8 years together at L'Wren's post-show dance
party a few weeks ago:
