N.S.C - Special request to 'Rolling Stone' readers

According to reports i've been reading , Rolling Stone magazine ,
have published a photo from The Surf Ballroom , Clear Lake
the 'Holy Grail' of Buddy Holly photographs.

Photo's from 'the day the music died' have never been seen, publicly, before,
and this photo, was only unearthered by the magazine, last November.

Could a U.S reader (it hit the stands, end of last week), please scan this piece of history?

This isn't from 2/2/59, but from the summer of 58.

Richard Houkoos' fabled 2/2/59 photos were reportedly, taken further back in the crowd than that
and apparently this new photo in Rolling Stone (from a different source to Houkoos) is more centred, and Waylon Jennings, Tommy Allsup and Carlo from the Belmonts(on drums)
are in shot.
(On 2/2/59, performers took turns on the drumstool, after Buddy's drummer Carl Bunch went down with severe frostbite, and was hospitalized, prior to the surf show)

Other reasons that this isn't a 'holy grail' photo

Buddy's wearing shades (as he did during the summer of '58) and he's wearing a collar and tie. During the WDP of '59, he wore ascots.
Apparently a polka dotted one, on that particular night.

And where's Tommy Allsup? He played to Buddy's left, on the WDP.

I think the story on the shades is that he went water skiing in his glasses (!) that summer, and -- big surprise -- lost them. He didn't have another pair, but did have a pair of prescription sunglasses, which he wore all the time for a while until he got new ones. There are shots of him indoors in a restaurant with the sunglasses too.

Only a crowd can make you feel so alone.

It really is breathtaking and emotional for this (and i'd imagine all)
Holly fans.

Buddy had approximately 2 hours to live, at this point.

For legal reasons, i'm not going to post it here, but it's

*Apparently there's a similar shot, of Ritchie, from the same source, that is going to see the light of day, this weekend, at the Surf Ballroom events.
There is going to be a special Surf Ballroom limited edition of RS, with it in.

glad you found the photo ade. if you wanted a rolling stone reader, you probably weren't going to find one on this board. that's the kind of shit they read on justin timberlake, barry manilow and eagles message boards.
