As much as I'm not a Madonna fan, some people put on a better "show" that others. Cher puts on a great show but her music is subpar. It's not many bands that can put on a great show with the music to back it up. The Ike and Tina Revue could. Stones can....sometimes. The Beatles couldn't, thats why they went belly up. Liberace was a great show but his music was on the way out.

The Beatles couldn't put on a show?  I saw them three times and they were GREAT - from what little I could hear over the sounds of my own screaming.  It was just the 4 of them on stage.  No back up musicians hiding behind the curtain, no light show, just the Fab Four out there.  The screaming was loud but the songs could be heard.  The Beatles WERE the show.

Well. I suppose at that time you were just a young and highly impressionable little girl.

And your point is what?  My opinion was based on first hand experience - is that invalidated because I was young at the time ?  Okay - you're a youtube fanatic - check out some footage from the Cavern or Hamburg taken before they were famous.  I think it's fair to say the audience was engaged.  I know it will never happen but I wish the Stones would scale back to Stones only on a small stage.  Mick would sit on a stool or stand and sing and play the harp for all he was worth.  I'd call out "Empty Heart" from my front row table and they would begin to play...

No, of course not.
But time does provide context.
