Please accept my condolences, JJ2. I've spent most of this New Year transition holding my unconscious mother-in-law's hand while she's gradually slipping away towards death, it won't be very long now and at least she isn't suffering. Yes, of course it is sad, which loss isn't?, but she would be 100 years old next May, so she had an extremely long and very blessed life. Losing someone much younger and who hasn't fulfilled all their potential yet and to such a ruthless disease, however, is always absolutely heart-breaking. I wish you strength and support from your loved ones, JJ2, it'll get better day by day, until you've learned to live with the loss. Perhaps one day you can name one of your sons Barry, my daughter is named after my best friend whom I lost to leukaemia aged only 35. There simply doesn't seem to be any logic or sensible explanation as to why good or bad people die young or old, and it's at these times that I am a teensy little bit envious of people who are deeply religious and can find solace in their God. Personally, I'm more of the school of thought of "shit simply happens, and you never know what's around the corner, so enjoy life to the full..."
LJ is so right, we all need a tour!
