Keith Richards To Appear At Musicians Hall of Fame Awards

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is slated to appear at the Musicians Hall of Fame Award Show on Tuesday, October 28 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville.

The awards show begins at 7:30 p.m., honorees include Duane Eddy, Billy Sherrill, Booker To and The MGs, The Crickets, Al Kooper, The Memphis Horns and The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

The Musicians Hall of Fame Award Show was created to honor the players behind the classic songs of American popular music. This year's show will include appearances from Richards, George Jones, Phil Everly, Eddie Floyd, Percy Sledge, Barbara Mandrell, Lee Ann Womack, Kix Brooks and other luminaries. Sounds great, glad Duane Eddy (which a lot of guitarist copied his style in the late 50's/early 60's) especially Booker T. & MG's, Buddy Holly's band-The Crickets, & Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, but why Al Kooper? he wasn't 'known till The Blues Project in '66, glad Keith is going be there, should be a great show.

Personally I thought his timing was a little weird on Peggy Sue, which is upsetting for the world's greatest rhythm guitarist.

But I would love to see the Stones try to replicate some kind of Buddy Holly sound on the next album. I truly do wish that Mick would just let Keith lead the show one more time.

Too bad the Crickets have to stand behind their stint with Buddy Holly as their "only" accomplishment. Their album post-Holly, In Style with the Crickets, is one of the great early 60s rock albums. Dudes wrote I Fought the Law!

Would love to see Keith whoop some rhythm guitar on that one.
