But yes, that is some accomplishment indeed. Seriously. I know how emotional he gets about his politics.

A friend asked me recently why I keep writing these mean spirited opinions regarding religion.
So I should say that while I do think too many churches preach hate, certainly not all. Not even close.
That's an opinion that is probably not stated often enough when I rant on here.

For instance, many southern churches gave shelter to the civil right marchers. Shelter from the
white God fearing Christians that intended to bash the marcher's heads in for wanting equality.

There definitely are churches that are on the correct side of good and evil.

Can you please cite for me in the US Constitution where it says that the state can dictate what it determines to be a fair amount of wealth for any citizen to accumulate? And if you think that the state can dictate such things then where does it end? You honestly believe that it's proper for the federal government to seize another's property and redistribute it to another that has less wealth? You really believe that? What about someone that started with nothing and then managed, through hard work and determination, to acquire some wealth. I believe that since we have massive tax dollars going to subsidize mega corporations, we can and should divert those monies to help out those who are struggling to survive in this economic environment. We can't, IMO, let them starve to death.

If we take a little more from the billionaires and lessen the tax burden on the low to middle classes, the economy will recover.
Poor people will spend money because they need more. This will help out local business. Jobs.
Bush sent billions to the top, yet jobs declined. Unfair. We need to create incentives to create jobs too. Tax relief tied to job creation is fine with me, if it works.

The super rich won't starve. The poor will. Since the private sector isn't fixing the problem, I am hopeful government will.

The tax burden is already on the billionaires, and the millionaires, and the "rich" which Obama says is over $250K. And the "middle class" is gonna get hit too with Obama spending like crazy. And the so called "lower class" is not paying taxes anyway.

That is the point -- these HUGE spending increases attached to the massive entitlements such as ObamaCare are not going to be paid from your billionaires. It is coming off the sweat of my brow and the brow of many others that are sick of the politicians taking our money and giving it to whomever they want.

Well I know it CAN work. I was raised with ONE working parent. We had a nice home and my mom stayed home and took care of the kids. Back then the rich paid upwards of 90% in taxes. It sounds unfair to me too, but they were still super rich. They still got the rewards of their labors.

What do you think will happen if we all paid the same tax rate?
Not that the super rich pay as high of a percentage as I do.
With all of their money, they get write-offs that I couldn't dream of.
Their effective rate is in the teens.

If by "lower class" you mean the working poor, your statement is not entirely accurate. While most probably don't pay any income tax, they do pay payroll taxes, the most regressive federal tax. A massive cut in payroll taxes, with a concomitant increase in income tax to cover the cost, would be an easy way to stimulate the economy. Such a proposal would also expose Repug hypocrisy by revealing that their concern is not the tax burden of ordinary Americans but only the interests of what Dubya once referred "the haves and the have-mores," when he said "Some call you the elite; I call you my constituency."
