We can't trust science. I've recently discovered that cancer, alzheimers and multiple sclorocis, just to name a few.. .are not real. Scientists have created these and are even killing children in order to get grants to fund the bogus research... despite all science and facts and evidence, you must understand, this is about money.

I'll accept your guarentee you read more than me Riffy... but one thing I know for a fact, b/cI've read and researched the sources of you use, is that many of them are backed up, supported and funded by the very same companies who have something to lose... In the same way tobacco companies tried to hide the truth, so do big energy companies on this subject... same playbook, same lobbies and lawyers ect to influence policy. That I know, is the reading you don't do...  I also know, that your claim that ten of thousands of scientist, around the wrold are selling out fact for money is bogus... b/c this so-called funding and mnoey, isn't lucrative and doesn't even exist in a way to influence the type of conspiracy you're claiming... what you're claiming, is absurd, and if you beleive that, yet you denied that military industry influenced Iraq war...

Think about this... indidual scientists or small research groups vs. consolidated multi-national corporations...

you know, science isn't exact, and you've taken great pains to point out every mistake, and even make up some stuff too... Regardless, what I know to be true, is the earth was once a ball of fire and will end that way too... Our time here is short, and when push comes to shove, there's people who want to make my time and the future of this planet for us possible. You oppose anything and pretty much everything along those lines, and your ideals are those romoted by big oil, christianity  and the miltary industrial complex. That's your god, and those are the ideals your worship... and you also call anyone who thinks different stupid... You mnake fun of the intelectuals who think different, yet you tell everyone how much smarter you are than us... Interesting fact.  I'm glad that when it comes to these topics, that I am one of the least informed on my side, b/c from what I see on your side, is a bunch of ignorant sounbite loving drones, who just line up like cows to the slaughter at some tea bag party hosted by Sarah Palin... Hopey and changey... that's the best you got... and in the meantime, Obama at least talked from the hip in front of his opponents and dispelled most of your lies regarding how smart the man is... but you're smarter??? Hows your drill baby drill working out? Hows your god hates fags working out? What i really want to know, how is your being a complete ass to people like me, made your life better? My ideals and the action behind them, have made many aspects of my life better and me happier, and I don't feel the need to being a jerk when stating them....

Yeah that's it funman! Cynicism! I mean we all know that the only reason that climate experts who try and debunk the fear mongering Algore types are only in it for the money provided by "Big Oil", right? No cynicism there, huh? However, the scientists that go along with the government have no such allegiance the mighty dollar, right? Forget that they make tens of millions in research grant money, and the government can now tax in the trillions of bullshit like "carbon emissions". Hey, if the government says it's true, who are we to question the government?!

Try this one for size, guys. If you actually took the time to read up on what, and why this hoax is being foisted on the population, then perhaps you could manage to pull your heads out of your asses and realize that they are coming after you, and your money!! It's a power grab. Just like everything that the far left ever supports. Only a fool wouldn't question the motives!

Global Warming – Is There Anything It Can’t Do?

By Conn Carroll On February 11, 2010 @ 9:36 am In Energy and Environment | No Comments

Tomorrow, NBC [1] (which is owned by General Electric) will begin broadcasting the 2010 Winter Olympics from Vancouver, Canada. Only two events are scheduled for the opening day (alpine skiing and ski jumping), but even those events will be difficult to pull off. Why? There is no snow in Vancouver [2]. And International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge knows exactly what is to blame: global warming. Rogge tells AFP [3]: “Global warming of course is a worry, it is a worry for the entire world.”

Considering that NBC/GE  has already received billions in TARP bailout cash from the Obama administration [4] and is actively lobbying for a global warming energy tax bill [5] so that it can receive billions more in government green-energy subsidies [6] on top of the millions it already receives [7], we are sure to hear lots from NBC announcers about how the lack of snow in Vancouver is just another reason Washington needs to act now to stop global warming.

But back in Washington, the global warming scare-monger crowd is singing a slightly different tune. Facing record snowfalls, Time [8] is reporting: “Snowstorm: East Coast Blizzard Tied to Climate Change.” But do not confuse this headline with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s column [9] from two years ago [10] claiming that global warming was causing “anemic winters” in the Washington region.

No snow, too much snow. It does not matter to the enviroleft crowd. For them, global warming always is to blame. That is the whole reason the movement made a deliberate decision earlier this decade [11] to stop calling it “global warming” and start calling it “climate change.” That way they could expand the universe of terrible things they could plausibly blame on global warming. One British citizen even maintains a comprehensive list [12] of everything the enviroleft has tried to blame on global warming including: Atlantic ocean less salty [13], Atlantic ocean more salty [14], Earth slowing down [15], Earth spinning faster, [16] fish bigger [17], fish shrinking, [18] and (most importantly) beer better [19], beer worse [20].

The media are not the only ones complicit in the climate fear industry. The 2007 Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (which is the most prestigious scientific body charged with determining what is and is not settled science) has also been found to be cooking the books. In just the past year, the IPCC’s 2007 report has been exposed for overstating the science on glacier loss in the Himalayas, crop loss in Africa, Amazon rain forest depletion and damage from weather catastrophes [21].

Here is what we do know: the cap-and-trade system in Europe is completely failing to reduce carbon emissions [22]; the cap-and-trade system proposed here in the United States would do nothing to affect global temperatures, but would do trillions of dollars of damage to the U.S. economy. [23]

Something to think about while you shovel out your driveway today.

Testimony of John Coleman
before the
Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands
of the
Committee on Natural Resources
of the United States Congress

April 7, 2009

Thank you to the Committee for the invitation to appear here today. And to any who listen to my remarks or read them later, thank you for your consideration of my testimony.
I come before this Subcommittee with no allusions or expectations. I am aware that for the majority of the Committee and most involved government officials my conclusions will run counter to your interests and agenda and will be ignored. None-the-less, I have made the effort to be here today because I feel what I have to contribute should at least be in the record.
Here is what I know as scientific fact: There is no significant man-made global warming or climate change at this time, there has not been any in the past and there is little reason to fear any in the future.

I did not say that the activities of man do not alter the weather and climate, because it is clear they do. What I said there is no significant man-made climate change and none should be reasonably expected to occur in the future.

I have visited most of the National Parks in the United States and love them. I have enormous appreciation for the efforts to protect our environment and provide places and ways for the citizens to enjoy the amazing beauty and powerful natural forces at work around us and interact with the thousands of species that live in those parks and related natural areas. Clearly, it is a huge task to balance between access and protection. I honor that.

But here is crux of what I can contribute to the issue before us. The science behind this current global warming, man-made climate change commotion, has failed to verify. The hypothesis that our carbon footprints produced by our use of fossil fuels is producing a significant greenhouse effect that will lead to climate calamity has failed to verify. So I repeat, there is no significant man-made global climate change.

I have studied the research papers of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and examined the science presented by Al Gore in his books, his movie and his power point. I have traced the history of the development of the concept of carbon dioxide in the exhaust from our cars, power plants and industrial plants entering the atmosphere and interacting with the primary greenhouse gas, water vapor, to magnify warming. It all collapses into a failed theory when examined with scientific care. I am not alone in reaching this conclusion. In the past year, 34 thousand scientists, 10 thousand with PhDs, have signed a statement debunking global warming.

There is solid scientific evidence that by burning fossil fuels our civilization increases the amount of carbon dioxide, CO2, in the atmosphere. However, even after 150 years of burning fossil fuels, CO2 remains a tiny trace gas. To be precise only 380 molecules out of every one million are CO2. Scientists with an anti-fossil fuel agenda developed a theory of radiative forcing to explain how this trace gas could create runaway greenhouse warming. They put that theory into general circulation computer models. Their models then projected a continuous rapid rise in global temperatures year after year. In the 1980s and 1990's the models seemed on track as temperatures climbed. But in 1998 the warming stopped. By 2002 a rapid cooling had begun. That cooling continues today. The computer proof has failed. It has become clear the warming in the 80s and 90s was at the peak of a solar cycle and now that the sun has gone very quiet, cooling has gripped the planet. Yet the models continue to predict warming that is not happening. There is no significant warming from CO2.

I am painfully aware that global warming has become a political issue. I deeply regret that. The latest Gallup Poll documents the wide divide on the issue: 66 percent of Republicans are of the opinion that the claims of global warming are exaggerated; only 22
percent of Democrats are of that position. I want to make very clear my conclusion is in no way politically based.
I was a science reporter for ABC News in the 1970's when there was a similar flurry of excitement about a coming Ice Age. Thankfully our government and political parties didn't get involved so when the science got things straightened out, the frenzy faded away. Unfortunately, this time people with the anti fossil fuel agenda had jumped on the global warming bandwagon and just won't let go. They have calmed the rhetoric to climate change, but they are still all wrapped up in cap and trade to tax our use of fossil fuels. This will do great harm to our economy but do nothing of consequence to protect the environment.

My advice to the National Park Service and the Subcommittee is: Do nothing to mitigate man-made global warming or climate change, because there is none. Reject the extremist agendas and concentrate on your wonderful work protecting our natural resources and making natural experiences available to us citizens of today and generations to follow.

To any who have an interest in pursuing the sources behind my scientific conclusions I provide a list of internet links with my written testimony.

Again, thank you for allowing me to present my testimony and place it into the record.

John Coleman? Are you joking? He argues that we need more CO2 in our atmosphere !!

Many of these links are no longer working, but that's Ok, John Coleman says enough for me.

He does have a huge list of skeptics though. But most are industry hacks.
Liberty University PhD's? Seriously?

One thing is certain.
We will see the effects, or we won't.

LOL! You're so damned predictable!!! You have no problem believing the "scientists" that have been proven to be flat out liars via leaked e-mails, and correspondence, but believing the guy that says CO2 is not a pollutant?! Well that's just a bridge too far! Forget about the fact that every single mammal exhales CO2, and without it our planet would be a frozen wasteland. No matter, believe what you want you gullible sheep, or should I say drone? ROTFLMMFAO!!!

So all of you drones that were so quick to slam Bush for the brilliant Patriot Act, what say you guys about this crap right here------->http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10451518-38.html

This is way more intrusive than The Patriot Act ever dared be. So when can we count on you guys to come out and slam the worst president in world history for pushing this shit?! Should we hold our collective breath?

God, I am going to laugh so hard in your faces when this corrupt presidency, and the Democraps are driven from power!!!! It's great being right!!!!!! However, it's even better laughing at a bunch of dolts who are too damned naive and ignorant to know that they are wrong!

I will now go put on Sheep by Pink Floyd, and laugh heartily at the sheep-like fools on this thread!!!

That's how I roll!

Big difference, Pdog. Alzheimer's, cancer, etc. can be proven without having to resort to faking the evidence ala global warming/climate change.

Does it not bother you at all that the number one piece of evidence that supports man-made global warming (Mann's hockey-stick theory) has been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt to be based on junk science, and fraudulent data?! Does that not give you pause? You're really that gullible? Really?!

Bush just stuck the tip in my ass, but this is full ass fucking penetration... I'm glad you can see that when you lowered the bar, it would eventually end up on the ground, and now you're complaining you can't jump over it... I hope you enjoy the laughing and rolling like that... at least you see how you helped create it, which is what I pointed out to you a long time ago. I just think it's very funny, that you supported the patriot act and bitch about this b/c you choose party over country... I don't think that is one bit funny... it's actually really sad! As much as you talk about warning and telling us... i did tell you, that in supporting some of the blind policies under Bush, that eventually a Democrat will be doing the same stuff, and then you will be bitching about it... so yea, I predicted this. I did, and do, fully support the Patriot Act because I know what it allows the government to do, and more importantly, what it prohibits the government from doing. The main issue that gave the Patriot Act it's teeth is the ability to "data mine". In other words, an automated system (computer) would listen for words like bomb, terror, Allah, etc..... and only then would a human agent investigate the issue. Here we have a completely different set of rules. What Barry is suggesting is that all Americans need to be investigated regardless of their intent, and investigated by a government agent of Obama's choice. This is what we mean by far left huge government intrusiveness. This kind of shit is par for the course for a man that thinks Che and Fidel were freedom fighters.

Really?

Wow!

I'm sure all of the people suffering from those afflictions will be glad to hear that they are all better now!

No one said they were better, I'm saying they don't exist... the science is fake, doesn't mean people won't die! I'm just dispelling the myth created by the fake science!

Really?!

Riffy

it's called climate change, and it is called science. you dispute both, based on economics. That is your choice. I'm not gullable, i'm just not attached to the economy the way you are... Unlike you, I am willing to sacrafice luxury for the future, you call me stupid. I'd rather live like this and be wrong, than be selfish and responsible for what could be a great suffering for life on this planet... I remeber your response one time, i'm going to turn my AC on high and put it in my window backwards... you can't even argue with you, you go from I'm so smart to soundbite reactionism...  There's no doubt, in my life, that if I can reduce or eliminate my carbon footprint, I've done something good. You dispute that... you claim that you're quality of life is going to be taken away, and that is untrue... but fight it all you want. just like Republican policy, it's a waste of energy. In other words, the maount of time and energy you waste, 10% of that could do something good and meanigful long after you're gone. It's humilty in action, a basic principle of all religions... Yet you make fun of people who do stuff like that... and applaud the ignorance of people like Sarah Palin... and it's b/c dumb people are more likely to allow govt. to do things that take away from them and support the elite and the few... educated people will take time and consider things, run tests ask questions.. .stuff that takes time and is kinda boring and not every exciting... so we embrace people like her and we call scientists, bad... you're a white male heterosexual, living in north maerica in year 2010 and you think you have something to bitch about... you hit the sperm lottery and you don't even know it... that makes you an idiot!

The hockey stick graph has not been proven to be false.

The argument is concerning the time prior to the 1900's, and different results were obtained from different studies.
You can see the different results on the graph below.

The sharp rise at the end of the graph was shown in all of these "other studies".

They fought for what they beleived in... it's not for me to decide what they should beleive in... data mining, that could never be used for bad or selfish intrests... it's very definite... now who is gullable? I'm confused, you trust/don't trust govt.? Make up your mind... You trust a poltical idealogy, only, and you openly speak of abolishing dissent... that isn't freedom, that's oppression. and that is what Che' and fidel fought against... you are more ironic that a faggy Brookkly hipster in art school, def leppard tee and skinny jeans wearing a white belt!!! you're idea of america, is what you're idea of America is... which is the opposite of america... We are an idea in action... that is our very freedom... we are free to be wrong!!! and to be happy!!! tha't over your head, b/c you're authoritarian, and think everyone needs to think like you or were stupid!!! one good thing, there is no end to stupid people if you're looking for them, and if you come across more than two a day, you're one of them as well.

Think-tanks take oil money and use it to fund climate deniers

Free-market, anti-climate change think-tanks such as the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in the US and the International Policy Network in the UK have received grants totalling hundreds of thousands of pounds from the multinational energy company ExxonMobil. Both organisations have funded international seminars pulling together climate change deniers from across the globe.

My wife wrote this:

Today, the task of protecting personal data is fraught with unprecedented challenges – from technology, from globalization, and from the barrage of ever-changing societal norms.

At the same time, there is a growing recognition that personal information has become a commodity, and that it has monetary value.

Indeed, personal information has become the principal commercial asset of social networking sites and free online search engines. This asset has spawned a whole new economic sector – the tracking, profiling and targeting of consumers for various types of behavioural advertising.

And those are just some of the legitimate uses. Personal information also has tremendous value to spammers, identity thieves, fraudsters and other cyber-crooks.

For all these reasons, personal information requires more protection than ever before.

"We can't trust science. I've recently discovered that cancer, alzheimers and multiple sclorocis, just to name a few.. .are not real."

This thread, the fact that you've all invested personal time for over 8000 replies, time which you could have spent on your wives, kids or any other productive activity that creates happiness in your lives, as well as the preposterous quote above make me ashamed to be part of RO. Last year I held a friend's hand for four days while she died of cancer. It was the sort of stuff that nightmares are usually made of, but I was wide awake at the time. It seemed pretty real to me and it still does now.

Whoever wrote that gem of utter ignorance should a) learn to spell b) be sectioned under the mental health act . It is just a matter of time until you get one of the above, in which case Science will have proven to you empirically how very, very stupid you are.
Tic-toc-tic-toc.....

Carry on with the pissing contest and never mind little me.
