I missed Rush's comment about Obama resigning...I did hear that, in
Rush's opinion, people who earn over $250,000/yr (the people who
benefited from Bush's soon-to-expire wealth redistribution) are not
REALLY wealthy...now, I can understand why a blowhard like Rush
will lie and lie and lie about Obama - he's in that top 2% of Americans
that the GOP represent to the detriment of the rest of us. However,
his minions are not. $250K/yr is 5 times the national average income.

Speaking of wealth redistribution, why is it that only changes which
benefit the middle and lower classes are demonized? Republican
presidents routinely trumpet their tax cuts for the wealthy every

Wealth is something that in most cases is defined by anaccumualted amount of money, that is passed on, usually over generations. Rich is something someone becomes, while wealth is an entirely different beast... what is more at issue, is what someone may or not be entitled too.
From world view, if it wasn't for a Haitian revolution 200 years ago, and the defeat of the French, the USA wouldn't have been able to purchase all that land at $3 an acre... Which was proven, to be a major touchstone in the USA becoming incredibly wealthy. Yes, those Haitians and their descendants are among the poorest on the planet. In most cases we're not even talking about families or indivuduals, and in those cases, were talking obscene amounts of money. That wouldn't even come close to diminishing anyones lifestyle... And in most cases, we're talking corporations that not paying the fair share... The grred at the top of these companies is disproportionate. Unchecked greed and corruption are what's being fought here, not some grab by lazy people who don't work, as you like to try to claim... total bullshit! and deeply rooted in the dark history of this countries early growth.

Only if you are a lib, and think that every person's earnings are in some way yours.
They are not.
Each person earns a wage for what they bring to the table.
Once that pay is earned or "distributed" to the earner, the government has the power to tax those earnings and "redistribute" to others that which was disributed to the earner.

Those with a socialistic view of wealth, do not like the fact that someone can attain more in life by selecting a better paying job, or working multiple jobs.  To the socialist mind, that earner is earning too much at the expense of someone else, and therefore those earnings should be taxed at a higher rate and given to those that do not have as much.

To the capitalist mind, pay should be structured based on merit, and taxation, while necessary, should not become so overburdening that it becomes a penalty. 

The underlying problem with saying that less taxation is redistribution is that you do not seem to accept that wealthy people earned that money and the government does not have the right to simply take it.  In that sense, less taxation is the opposite of redistribution of wealth.
