Released today:  In a poll of three different communities 25 miles outside of Bahston,  Brown is ahead
by double digits.  Same pollster who last week had Brown ahead by four points.  Still, this is Massachusetts, where a lead is not a lead.  It's likely that the usual vote scammers Acorns et all set up shop over the weekend here preparing to scam the vote however possible.  Yet, somehow it does seem that there is an air of change present where there has not been in a long time.  In my own unscientific sample, since Friday, driving around seven different towns where I live, I've counted 52 Brown signs to not one for Coakley....

Who's the bigger choker, Martha Coakley for blowing a 30 point lead or Norv Turner, coach of the SD "Super" Chargers, for multi chokes in the playoffs?

that's a close one Nellie... I hope the seat goes to a republican, democrats don't know what a majority is anyway... so they really have no use for it...

This one has a happy ending . . .

I wonder which party these KKK guys and gals belong to.

You are such a brainwashed drone that it is almost too easy to pick apart your immature lame assed talking point arguments! Let me ask you a question you simpleton fuck. Which party has a ranking member in the House that is a former KKK member? Not just a former member of the KKK mind you, but rather a former Grand Kleagle of the repugnant KKK? Which majority leader in the Senate was just recently quoted as stating that Barack Obama was a good candidate because he was a "light skinned African American, with no negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."? You liberals love to lay claim to some misinformed and misguided ideal that you are the party for the poor, the downtrodden, the minority. It's crap! Democrats are the party of race hustlers like Sharpton, Jackson, and the ACLU. They are the party that is in bed comfortably with the union bosses and the trial lawyers! Martha Coakley, the hapless liberal far left Democrat in Massachusetts, held a fund raiser in DC not two days ago attended by the very same big pharma and insurance bosses she claims to fight against!  Give us all a break and STFU!

Democrats like Obummer, Reid, and Pelosi just cut a deal to grant a 40% tax break to members of their own constituents! They just told 90% of the population, "Go fuck yourselves! You should have been a member of the union!" The very same unions that contributed over 26 million dollars to the Obama 2008 presidential candidacy! The socialist/Marxist facade is wearing off, pal. People are beginning to see what some of us knew all along. Namely, the fact that your ideological uber hero is nothing more than wealth redistributing Orwellian socialist bastard with more concern over ideological/party power than the betterment of society. I hope you drones enjoyed your "historic" election, but the electorate has had enough of president Hopey McChange! We're not socialist Europe, and we never will be! Thank God! God, I said! The people do not work for The State! It's the other way 'round! That you are stupid enough to want the governement to lord over the people is disgusting! And, I'll say it,.....it's unAmerican!

Facts fucknut! Nothing but facts!

Riffy

History?  You wanna talk history?  Let's start by comparing Harry Reid's comments to Trent Lott's.  Reid simply stated a fact:  lighter-skinned blacks who use standard American English rather than BAE (Black American English; a linguistic term; Reid used an archaic form) are more acceptable to white Americans than darker-skinned, BAE-speaking blacks.  The fact on which he was commenting may be racist, but Reid is not racist for acknowledging it.  His comment may be characterized is descriptive rather than normative.

Lott, by contrast, made a normative comment.  He said that he was proud of the fact that Mississippi had supported the segregationist candidate for president, Strom Thurmond, in 1948, and that the country would have been better off ("We wouldn't have had all these troubles.") if Thurmond had been elected.  That was a statement of support for segregation.  Is the distinction clear now?

As for Robert Byrd's Ku Klux Klan membership in the 1930s or whenever, that was a long time ago.  His position has obviously evolved.  The great Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black was also a former Klansman, but he became a great voice for freedom on the Court.  What Riffy fails to recognize is that while the Republican Party was the force for emancipation, it changed beginning at the time of Barry Goldwater into the party of racial retrenchment and white resistance.  Nixon called it the "Southern Strategy."

The simple fact is, as I have explained at length previously, there has always been opposition to progress.  The Inquisition burned Giordano Bruno and frightened Galileo into denying the heliocentric theory of the solar system.  Scopes was tried for teaching evolution.  Emancipation, women's suffrage, civil rights, now gay rights; every movement for human freedom and progress since our ancestors came down from trees has been resisted by people just like Riffy.  They are called reactionaries and theirs is the way of oppression and stagnation.

speaking of religous zealots...

Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the United States military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found.

At the end of the serial number on Trijicon's ACOG gun sight, you can read "JN8:12", a reference to One of the citations on the gun sights, 2COR4:6, is an apparent reference to Second Corinthians 4:6 of the New Testament, which reads: "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

Other references include citations from the books of Revelation, Matthew and John dealing with Jesus as "the light of the world." John 8:12, referred to on the gun sights as JN8:12, reads, "Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

The sights are used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in the training of Iraqi and Afghan soldiers. The maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a $660 million multi-year contract to provide up to 800,000 sights to the Marine Corps, and additional contracts to provide sights to the U.S. Army.

U.S. military rules specifically prohibit the proselytizing of any religion in Iraq or Afghanistan and were drawn up in order to prevent criticism that the U.S. was embarked on a religious "Crusade" in its war against al Qaeda and Iraqi insurgents.

LOL! Nice spin there BJ! It ain't playing too well in MA. though is it? No, and why not? Because people are fed up with this so-called progressive horseshit that is really only about class warfare and wealth redistribution. Notice how this crap president is always trying to get people to hate business? Be it "Big Oil", "Big Pharma", "Big Insurance", the list goes on, and on, and on....We are told to hate free market capitalism, and embrace "Big Government", and "Big Union Labor". Sorry pal! We ain't buyin'! Ever notice that blatantly obvious class warfare at play? That shit is taken directly from the pages of Saul Alinsky's- Rules For Radicals! It is a god damned blueprint for "social and societal change" ala Socialism/Marxism. That is not hyperbole either! He wants to grow government and shrink individual liberties, and people are rightly sick of it.

As for Trent Lott. Give me a fucking break!!!! He never said any such thing! You have to actually go out of your way to infer that he meant something that he never actually said! He was trying to be kind to a man celebrating his 100th birthday FFS!! And for you to so readily excuse Robert Byrd his past sins while still maintaining that Strom Thurmond was segregationist is pretty fucking rich! What Reid said was blatantly racist, and you trying to play it off as truth is even more disgusting! That Reid would apologize to Obummer is beyond idiotic! He should apologize to every single African American in the country! I guess it's only racist if a Republican says it? That about right? Rush Limbaugh got crucified for saying something that was nowhere near as racist as what Reid said, but Rush Limbaugh? Does he get your liberal spin job? Of course not! It's such a double standard that I can't believe that you can keep a straight face when you try and spin that shit!!

You may not like it, but the FACT is that America, under a free market/capitalist society has liberated, and helped more people than any other country in the entire world. And it's not even close!! Do you how much assistance that Hugo Chavez (hero of the leftards) committed to Haiti? One fucking plane!! ONE!! Cuba? Two planes!!! America is not a leftist country! Deal with it! Obummer is a one and done chump! Just like I always said he would be!

Every fucking prediction that I made is coming true! This ideological Socialist lightweight is destroying the once great Democrat party. And the moron leftists in this nation have only themselves to blame! It sure as fuck ain't Bush's fault!

Happy MLK Day! You can thank Ronald Reagan for your day off!

I saw this too.

One ex-soldier commented that these scopes are really good quality, so they opted to go ahead and use them.

Really is pathetic though.

Uhhh, Pdog I thought my point was pretty obvious. It was Ronald Reagan who declared that this be a national holiday in recognition of that great man, and great Republican-Martin Luther King.

And as far as Reagan goes? He is one billion times the president, and man, that the moron that currently occupies the position is.

He did it all by himself, all his idea too... sure, you keep on beleiving that... No wonder you are so afraid of Obama, you think the presidnet is a king... Bush really messed you up.
Reagan was against it... He passed with a veto proof vote... It was pushed by labor unions... If you're going to try to re-write history, you better not do it when I've got two minutes free... You make this stuff easy sometimes. do you make this stuff up yourself, or is someone helping you? The vote that passed was: 338 to 90 in the House of Representatives and 78 to 22 in the Senate. VETO proof... Why did Reagan oppose it? Do you remember? He said it would cost the country too much money... and now you're convinced MLK was a Republican... Really? His dad was... He was the head of NAACP... I think you've confused MLK Sr. with MLK Jr. You crack me up.

Barb had an interesting take . . .

In the midst of their ongoing jihad against health care reform, the Republican party took a moment today to note that it was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day:

As we celebrate his legacy, I’m reminded that his message is rooted in ideals and principles that the Republican Party has advocated since its inception. Today, our Party and the nation honors Dr. King’s dream by continuing his fight — the fight for all Americans to have an equal chance at the American Dream."

This from the party that wouldn't even agree that poor children should have access to a doctor or that women should receive equal pay for equal work? Both would seem to be vital elements in getting an equal chance at the American dream.

But if the Republicans have really had a change of heart and want to honor Dr. King, perhaps they should remember what he said in 1965:

Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.

I didn't think so.

from wikipedia:
Ronald Reagan was also opposed to the holiday, citing cost concerns.[7] He threatened to veto the King Day bill but recanted after Congress passed it with an overwhelming veto-proof majority (338 to 90 in the House of Representatives and 78 to 22 in the Senate).[8]

I think the president is a king?!?!?! LOL! No buddy, you got it all backwards! It's Barry who thinks he's a king! And his bigger-is-better governing style is straight out of the whole far left socializing and organizing Marxist mold. I mean Barry did get his start doing what exactly?

His presidential track record? Raise taxes by the bucket load, while trying to convince an ever shrinking base that you're doing it for "the people". Slam business at every turn. Which in turn kills jobs. And then offer them up as the sacrificial lamb to "the people" by killing them with punitive taxes and massive regulation. These taxes will be directly passed to the consumer, you know, "the people"? So when these Cadillac insurance plans get taxed at 40% (psssst....not if your in a union that voted Barry!) the insurance companies just pass that cost right to "the people". That's why Barry, Pelosi, and Reid want you to think that only "evil rich" people are covered by the plans that he is going to steal. It's all for "the people" don't ya know?! If you are still so blind that you can not see what is taking place before your very eyes, then you are lost forever. The only possible reason that some refuse to see it is because to see it is to be forced to confront it. Truth is a bitter pill when you have to put your liberal party-first fealty on the line.

Put it this way. What would Thomas Jefferson have to say about the way things are going under this self appointed king?

"It was Ronald Reagan who declared that this be a national holiday in recognition of that great man"

you use the larger than life statemnts, that are completely false... When did he declare anything about MLK and grant me or anyone else a day off... the larger than life you try to represent things that are false at there base, the dumber you look. This one is huge. Reagan signed a bill he couldn't veto, and opposed, and you're acting like it was his idea... if you really beleive it was his idea, than you may have a serious condition called bullshititus.  What about Rustin and Kings association to a commie, homo, democrati socialist... you're so full of shit trying to take MLK and make him into some GOP poster boy... He's no different than Obama, except he's dead and is now silenced... then again, you love to re-write history... then again, it is why you're political idealism is completely impotent in the present. All you have is vitriol, hate and lies... and you project on democrats, who are another set of limp dicks... ficking hysterical... instead of a sword fight it's two limp wet noodles smacking into each other... bust out the viagra!

Actually that's not what you always said about Pres Obama, in fact, you ranted and flamed his supporters here for about a year claiming that he wasn't going to win the election in first place, as I recall it had something to do with him being

I can only see two options here.

1) You are trying to mislead
2) You just don't know

Maybe you can tell us who George Wallace was, where he lived, his values and his party affiliation?

Reagan was against a holiday for King and famously agreed with Jesse Helms that it would eventually be proven that King was a communist. Despite this, Reagan signed the bill. I guess he was a closet communist too.

King said of Reagan, "When a Hollywood performer, lacking distinction even as an actor, can become a leading war hawk candidate for the presidency, only the irrationalities induced by war psychosis can explain such a turn of events."

King was a Socialist. Are you claiming that the GOP "tent" is big enough to include Socialists?

MLK was so socialist, I am still jaw dropped Riffy is calling him a great man and leader... Obama represents MLK's social agenda to perfection... In fact the only difference is Obama isn't a pacifist and has no problem with war or violence... I have no doubt or pause for a second, if MLK was alive today, riffy would hate him, and call him all the names he calls Obama... he hates every other living black leader inspired by MLK... this isn't even a stretch...
Really Riffy? Are you off your rocker... you hate equal rights, you do not like blacks having equal rights anymore than you like women or gays having them too... the exact same remarks you make towrds gays rights are the points used to oppose gay and womens rights... and your political and social idealogy is also in direct opposition to all the causes and movements... I don't even know how to put it into words how stupid you look saying MLK was great and asociating his cause to ronal Reagan, other than you seem hell bent on trying to associate yourself with something good, which is something you desperately need. Your beleifs and and those you support from Limbaugh/ Bush and Cheney/ Tee Party ect.. are all a bunch of people who basically promote suffering through hate and selfish, self centered ideals... You look so stupid making this association, that I actually feel sad for you... no one should be this lost, and definitely not a Stones fan... it does make sense why you would embrace a dead civil rights leader and not the living ones... There was a saying in the 60's during the civil rights movement used by rednecks and racists, they used to say "the only good nigger, is a dead nigger". I think you've brought the belief full circle, Bravo. Ignorance shines bright again with white males in North America in 2010. you have nothing to bitch about and you complain about everything, like it is doomsday. Unfuckingbeleivable!!!

Yeah, this is just too weird  to figure out. Mr. Riffhard
REALLY needs to explain to us why he thinks the Rev.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a 'great man'.

Is THAT what's been coming hard and fast all this time????
Riffy becoming a black socialist????

...
Wow, we really DIDN'T see that coming!
