Meg there comes a time when enough is enough. My outburst in Pdog's new sig was based soley on being called a racist. A word and association which I find personally disgusting. Me calling people Obamadrones may anoy you, and it might even piss you off. It certainly has pissed off Pdog. However, I would like know what other word to use when describing the heard like mentality of a big chunk of Obama supporters.

These people happliy ignored all Barry's radical associations prior to the election. They happily ignored his own speeches when he claims to desire a "single payer" system for health care, and make broad sweeping socialist/Marxist statements. Likewise, they have ignored the unemployment numbers even when he promissed an unemployment rate at no more than 8%. (It's at 10% right now) They also ignore the spending which is nothing more than generational theft! To so many Obama supporters that doesn't even phase them!! The most radcially irresponsible spending in world history, and Obama supporters find some insane way of justifying it. They act as if we should all just "give him more time"! Give him more time to do what exactly?!?!?! Completely bankrupt the country?! He has already created the worsty deficit in US history, and that's before his idiotic health care plan is passed, and cap and trade is implemented.


My problem with these "drones" is that they don't even understand the danger that this ideologue is doing. They don't get it. They don't want to get it. They refuse to even consider any criticism of their "historic" hero. Meanwhile some of us know full well that our kids and grandkids are going to be saddled with an untennable debt. That's not conjecture. That's not partisan bitching. That's a fact! He will long be remember as an historic president, but it won't be because he's the "first African American president". No, it will be because he will be consided the most fiscally irresponsible world leader in history.


It's nice that monkey_man posted figures from the stock market, but that proves absolutely nothing. The market is a world wide institution. How about showing us some graphs with the employment/unemployment numbers? Maybe some housing numbers? How about wage figures? See those graphs are more reflective of what Barry's assinine spending programs are doing the average American, and they aren't very rosey. Not very rosey at all in fact, and they are getting worse, not better. Not that any Obamadrone would ever bother to consider the implications of the piss poor numbers they provide. Afterall, they can always find a way to blame Bush.

You don't know shit about my political beliefs or why I voted for Obama, and you would be the last person on earth with whom I would have a political conversation.  Each time I post, you give me the same damn lecture.  I am not a moron nor am I mentally deranged.  There is no herd mentality or blind hero worship for Obama. A strong public option in health care is such a smart thing to do, and the only arguments against are:

1 too much money
2 too much Fed control

Everything else is crap, but if enough people eat the crap, you get what we're seeing nightly on Fox.

All of the super capitalist investment bankers took the Feds money, so what does that tell you.
Who's a socialist? All we're trying to get is fairness and cost control, so that a lack of wealth doesn't determine your death or a Wall Street investment opportunity (aka HMO) doesn't look for a reason to drop you after you've made your payments, all in the name of profits (to not agree with that single point as a priority is shameful). It took OBAMA to force this agenda. No f-ing Repub administration made this their priority.

Health care reform is for EVERYBODY. When was the last time that opportunity came around?

Government is going to continue to spend, no matter who is in the White House. Always. Even the "Conservatives". For them it was taxation fairness. But I don't believe that moving that much wealth to the top is ever going to help the masses. And after decades of trying the GOP agenda has brought us here. In 2 wars, deep in debt, rising unemployment, thousands of families moving to tent cities. The GOP doesn't want the Dems to get credit for successfully creating the most moral public policy since the sixties.

To enact a fairness law into health care is GOLD.
To include a strong public option is PLATINUM.

Did I mention that this is all because of DEMOCRATS. I can't believe anybody is against this, unless you're super rich or a major league dreamer (Joe the Plum) that prefers to vote against his current interests, so IF he ever gets rich he can benefit THEN.
That's what I call HOPE. I wonder if he ever considered where his children will be in 20 or thirty years. Guess there's always the ER.

Now for challenge number two:  I refer you back to the Nick Kristoff column I posted a few days ago.  It hearkened back to a time when urban firefighting was generally private.  As Kristoff observes, there are some tasks government does better than the private sector:  road building, firefighting, policing, education and health care.  In all other advanced nations, government performs or controls all of these functions; in the U.S., we make an exception for health care, which explains why we pay twice as much as anyone else for #37 results.

My stepdaughter who lives in SF just informed me that a normal birth costs 20000$ in the US. That is just insane and it has to change, but I cannot see you being able to make it workable and affordable to every American if you don't change the legal side and the general greedy and litiginous attitude.

The doctors are spending so much on insurance, the patients are covered by insurance, and billions of doolars are piling up in premiums. We aren't getting healthy, we are getting sick. Drug companies persue medicines to make us stay sick, create drugs and send reps to docors to push them onto patients. It isn't healthcare it is sickcare... As a country we are getting unhelathy. Look at the pics of the 9-12 protestors... most of them are out of shape sick looking people. You really don't see fit people. Our problems go deep... it's unhealth, money, corruption ect... Real simple... kinda bottom line for me. we've built this class of people, that we are sucking money up out of, and telling them that it is ok, b/c this good and any change to this process will destroy them, basically telling them to accept mediocrity, suffering, hard work with little hope of a better life. Are you trying to say that health care reform is Obama's brain child? He is acting alone on this?
As I recall, Obama outlined the reform he wanted to see, and let Congress draft the actual bills.
This may not have been the smartest tactic, and THAT may have been naive, but that's where the naivete ends.

We're somewhere around 25TH IN THE WORLD, with regards to LIFE EXPECTANCY. No one is going to deny that America's
medical procedures and medical technologies are first rate. But the fact that ALL other 1st world nations can get coverage for
their citizens (AND THEY LIVE LONGER THAN US),  but we can't do the same is pathetic.
