What I find so incredibly disgusting here is implication by you guys, and the liberal media, that the only reason that so many people have a problem with Obama is because of the color of his skin! That is an outrageous thing to say, however, it is an easy out and it completely and convieniently ignores the truth.

It's always easy for an Upper West Side elite like Maureen Dowd, of the disgraced and nearly bankrupt NYTs to scream raicsm. I mean afterall, Joe Wilson is from the South. It all fits right into her Northeastern liberal mindset. Her slanderous article doesn't offer any kind of proof for her malicious claim. Just the implication of racism is enough for her, and her readers. She just plays the card that she was dealt by an angry Southern white senator. We all know what card that was. It's easy to make the claim, but there is not one scintilla of evidence to suggest that Wilson is a racist at all. He has no history of racism in his past. None. The implication alone will do for Dowd though. She knows that her readers will make the only obvious conclusion, and smuggly nod their heads in agreement at her spot on assesment of Wilson's redneck racist inner voice over their lattes. No proof mind you. Just a liberal hunch.

I guess it would only be fair for me to ask of Maureen Dowd why did she so vehemently oppose Clarence Thomas for the Supreme Court? I think it's because she hates successful black men that don't tow the liberal line. In fact I think that she considers them Uncle Toms. I have no proof that Dowd is a cross burning racist intent on "keeping the man down", but I think her objection of Thomas is proof enough. Don't you?

Here, read an article from a newspaper that still has plenty of subscribers and makes money. This guy destroys the rupugnant Maureen Dowd.

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/damianthompson/100009567/maureen-dowds-disgust...

It boggles my mind that liberals are being so dismissive of the tens of millions of Americans who are getting more politicallly invloved because of Obama's policies. People are rallying because of the blatant attempt by Obama and the Democrats in congress to remake our nation into one that our grandparents would never recognize. The spending is insane! We are robbing our children and grandchildren blind and none of you want to address that insanity. It's easy to just ridicule the voices of dissent when they are not coming from the liberal "group think" bubble. If you folks want to continue to believe the race of the president is the driving force of this political counter revolution than have at it. But you're being very delusional.

If you think that all of these people are a bunch of racists than you are in for a very big surprise come the mid terms.

So does this mean you're not going to stop calling me unporovked names, or reply to my post about how you made huge claims that were false, especially since you just demanded I do so, in order to get an apology... Which btw , don't want  or need and I'm asking rhetorically, b/c you're still going to be the racist, homophobic yelling jerk you've always been. The same troll who thinks they know it all, treats everyone who diagrees like a piece of dirt and pretends they get hurt feelings from one comment, while making hundreds of nasty direct and indirect put dwns using curses and insults. Your authoritarian style and your neo-con hateful ways are dying, maybe they will come back, maybe they will still have so fight, but you in particular, are seeing yourself, how people here don't want it... You're pretty much the only left, and the only one still being a dick. Where;s Maxy, Fiji, Glancar, Telecaster? All of the did the same mean hurtful I'm better than crap too. For the most part, all good guys too, but this political hate crap is why they aren't here, and it's the only thing you come back for... It's your main thing... go post Stones on a political board... Do I look bad when you call me names? No! you do, you look bad! In reall life too. You do need to know, you're a way nicer guy than Tele or Glancar, and Maxy is one of the funniest nicest guys I met online.... think about what I have written the past few days, hopefully you hear it and don't react with your vile crap one more time.

You want an olive branch? Fine. I extend my hand in friendship. I apologize for making you feel that I was no longer your friend, and acting dickish towards you. I have met you. I have had one very ass kicking weekend with you, and other ROers (including Feej, I might add). So in that respect I am sorry that a political thread has driven such a huge wedge between us, and between all Stones fans on this site. We would certainly get along great if we met up again. JC being the lone exception, mind you.

However, in the last two pages of this thread you have called me a cheat, and in the above post you claim that I am a "racist homophobic jerk", would like to withdraw those assertions? Or would you like to just explain your rational behind making such mean spirited, and downright false claims?

As I pointed out on the first post of this page. The claim of racism is an easy out. It immediately puts the accused on the defensive. In that respect liberals, like Maureen Dowd, love to throw it out there. It distracts from the argument, and it has people pointing at nonsense proof of said racism. Funman's assertion that Wilson tried to protect the former sate flag of South Carolina, for example. That's a crap argument that anyone from the South can attest to. Wilson's support of the "Confederate" flag had nothing whatsoever to do with race! It's a cultural thing that non-Southerners will never understand I guess. Gee, see how the accusation of racism distracts!

You say I'm a racist. Yet there is no evidence that I am, and, btw, I am far, far, far from a racist! You make the claim that I am a homophobe, but again, there is zero evidence of that accusation. It too is totally false. You say I'm a jerk. Guilty as charged, but only sometimes. I would point out that I am but one person here being forced to defend myself against a whole slew of backslapping liberals that never even consider any kind of civil discourse. What I'm saying here is that the assholes are on both sides of this argument, and you only see me as an asshole because we are on opposite sides of the debate. Take a look at some of 2000monkey's posts. How about Jizzy's? Can't forget leonid's either. Perhaps BJ's blatantly smug elitest posts are another example of jerk-like behaviour? Don't even get me started abiout JC/Flea! Yet, to you, I am the jerk! The fact that you find common political ground with the others certainly wouldn't color your perspective, would it?

This will probably get right under funman's skin, but I'm going to post it anyway.

Matthew 7: 1-5

Jesus said to his disciples: "Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye."

We could all take something from that reading, don't you think?

And what is a far right view? When did religion and the right wing, not become extreme?
You supported a policy that denied basic human rights, to Americans, based on religous views and that their behavior is said to go against god... Basic human rights!!! That's fucking extreme, and what the big issue in 2004!!! IMO, it is obscene that we even live in a country with this ass backwards policy, not to mention it is based on extremism, fear and religoin!

You have just proven to me that you are not very schooled on the origins of this nation. Not at all. You probably believe that their is a clause in the Constitution that forbids talk of religion in the public square because of "separation of church and state." Wrong! What basic human rights are you fucking talking about anyway?!

So, I'm not schooled.... Here is Riffy telling me, I'm stupid, and then saying I said something i didn't say about people talking about religon, when I was clear in my post... we had policy based on religion (christians) denying human rights (gays). But I'm  stupid and somehow I said people can't discuss religion....

I love going through the archives...

If anyone wants to take the time, just go back to the start of this thread, and see how mean Riffy is....

Maybe you should Riffy... How about you do the thing you tell me to do... Go read, look at the links I've provided, see the facts... I don't want an olive branch, you keep hitting me with it!!!

It's really funny... cause after my post about seperation of church and state, you copied all these quotes of founding fathers, discussiing the bible and how it "influenced" and "guided" their principals....

"If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted . . . If our government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws. [Noah Webster, The History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie and Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337, 49] "

You quoted this.... So where do you think this guy would stand on healthcare....
(remember, you posted this, not me!!!)

"where Jesus is Lord, and everything is free!"

America, land of the free or land of free stuff????

But anyway, what part of the bible is this? I ask this, because after you posted this stuff, and got called on it, you changed the topic... it's in this thread, go read it... it's all chronological too...

Here's a Riffy quote!!!

Riffhard wrote on Oct 21st, 2008 at 11:21am:
Some of you guys are tilting at windmills here. I never once said that Barrack was a terrorist, a Stalinist (I said that his father had some Stalinist tendancies-that's true), I never said that Saul Alinsky was out to destroy the USA. Likewise I never said that Obama was out to destroy the country either.

I have made it abundantly clear over the course of this 19 page thread that Obama is a socialist. He is. He doesn't want to destroy America. He wants to totally change the class structure of the USA by implementing "spread the wealth around" socialist ideology. Saul Alinsky was not the devil, I never said he was. I said that the man was an avowed socialist with strong Marxist leanings (he was). I never called him a communist in the Soviet sense of the word. He hated free market capitalist economics. So too does Obama. That is the polar opposite of the ideas that this nation was founded on. Those facts can't be argued with. They are what they are. Facts.

If this election is all about the economy, and it certainly is, then the idea of handing the entire government over to the most spend happy Democrat run congress ever with a socialist at the helm is just too stupid to contemplate. Think the economy sucks now? Wait until Obama gets in office! The guy does not believe in drilling for oil, he doesn't believe in nuclear power, he has a very tough time with clean coal technology despite what he claims, and he wants to spread the wealth around. He also has zero foriegn policy experience, and has stated that he would sit down with the terrorists in Iran, North Korea, and the hard left Ameirca hating Hugo Chavez.

Quit trying to imply that I said the man child was a terrorist or a communist. I never said any such thing! Idiot? Yes. Absolutly.

'Change' Can Lead to Catastrophe

Tuesday, October 21, 2008 12:33 PM

By: Thomas Sowell

Telling a friend that the love of his life is a phony and dangerous is not likely to get him to change his mind. But it may cost you a friend.

It is much the same story with true believers in Barack Obama. They have made up their minds and not only don't want to be confused by the facts, they resent being told the facts.

An e-mail from a reader mentioned trying to tell his sister why he was voting against Obama but, when he tried to argue some facts, she cut him short: "You don't like him and I do!" she said. End of discussion.

When one thinks of all the men who have put their lives on the line in battle to defend and preserve this country, it is especially painful to think that there are people living in the safety and comfort of civilian life who cannot be bothered to find out the facts about candidates before voting to put the fate of this nation, and of generations yet to come, in the hands of someone chosen because they like his words or style.

Of the four people running for president and vice president on the Republican and Democratic tickets, the one we know the least about is the one leading in the polls — Barack Obama.

Some of Sen. Obama's most fervent supporters could not tell you what he has actually done on such issues as crime, education, or financial institutions like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, much less what he plans to do to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear nation supplying nuclear weapons to the international terrorist networks that it has supplied with other weapons.

The magic word "change" makes specifics unnecessary. If things are going bad, some think that what is needed is blank-check "change." But history shows any number of countries in crises worse than ours, where "change" turned problems into catastrophes.

In czarist Russia, for example, the economy was worse than ours is today and World War I was going far worse for the Russians than anything we have faced in Iraq. Moreover, Russians had nothing like the rights of Americans today. So they went for "change."

That "change" brought on a totalitarian regime that made the czars' despotism look like child's play. The communists killed more people in one year than the czars killed in more than 90 years, not counting the millions who died in a government-created famine in the 1930s.

Other despotic regimes in China, Cuba, and Iran were similarly replaced by people who promised "change" that turned out to be even worse than what went before.

Yet, many today seem to assume that if things are bad, "change" will make them better. Specifics don't interest them nearly as much as inspiring rhetoric and a confident style. But many 20th century leaders with inspiring rhetoric and great self-confidence led their followers or their countries into utter disasters.

These ranged from Jim Jones who led hundreds to their deaths in Jonestown to Hitler and Mao who led millions to their deaths.

What specifics do we know about Barack Obama's track record that might give us some clue as to what kinds of "changes" to expect if he is elected?

We know that he opposed the practice of putting violent young felons on trial as adults. We know that he was against a law forbidding physicians to kill a baby that was born alive despite an attempt to abort it.

We know that Obama opposed attempts to put stricter regulations on Fannie Mae — and that he was the second largest recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae. We know that this very year his campaign sought the advice of disgraced former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines.

Fannie Mae and Raines were at the heart of "the mess in Washington" that Barack Obama claims he is going to clean up under the banner of "change."

The public has been told very little about what this man with the wonderful rhetoric has actually done. What we know is enough to make us wonder about what we don't know. Or it ought to. For the true believers — which includes many in the media — it is just a question of whether you like him or not

Commies, mass suicides... can you come up with more fear? 8 years of Bush, and all you got is fear! Smoking weed and being a Republican makes you really paranoid!

Discuss!!!

I'm no fan of the Patriot Act , however given the vitriol, racism, and blind hatred espoused by many of the lunatic fringe that were in Washington last weekend,( who by the way ARE NOT "grassroots activists", they are a manicured lawn paid for and groomed and fed by Fox News) do they expect to be looked at as political enemies or potential assassins? When you have assholes carrying around signs that say "Lets Do To Obama What We Did To Kennedy" and right wing religious nutjobs praying for his death and exhorting their sheep to do the same I am sure that some of those fools are giving the Secret Service nightmares and probably SHOULD be under surveillance.

Lots of different messages there. Just a general discontent for our countries current state of affairs. Sadly, no dissent of W's policies that brought a lot of this on. Looks like all that wealth the super rich acquired hasn't created many new jobs either.
Maybe they're still in the planning stages. It's gotta trickle down eventually, right?

Yeah, abortion is terrible, agreed. Why don't we try to reduce the instances through education?
Oh yeah, because Obama wants to teach 5 year olds how to do the butt sex thing. Good point. Oh well.
Shame how instances of teenage STDs, teenage pregs, and teenage anal sex are way up in the southern states.
They're not abstaining.

Shame on the press? Yeah, I agree. Where were they in the ramp up for war in Iraq.
Fox isn't the press, so they're probably safe from a hypocrisy label.

Unarmed this time? Is that supposed to scare anyone? Do they think that a shootout would work well towards their cause?

A revolution is brewing? Keep pushing and see what happens? I wish they would just say what will happen, the suspense is too much.

Raising taxes like crazy? Does that kid look like he's worked yet? If so, then didn't he get a tax cut?
We didn't vote for this health care? I did, he lost, if he voted. Apparently he's never eaten a shit taco before.

Hey, they brought a cross to sign. Wonder if they're using a Cross pen. Now that would be cool.

There won't be enough doctors to take care of the additional policy holders? Good point. Fuck it, let them suffer, right?

Bury ObamaCare with Kennedy? Guess we can't call them decent Americans. They seemed nice enough, until they spoke.

I'm not supporting Joe Wilson for President, but I am supporting the pole that holds a sign that reads Joe Wilson for President.

I'd like to see a Christian in the White House? There must be ONE in there, of all the staffers. No?
Ah, there it is. Obama's a Muslim. Wonder where she got that information?

Obama is the anti Christ? Seems to me the anti Christ wouldn't have this much trouble getting health care passed. I mean, couldn't he threaten Congress's eternal soul to an eternity of painful pain, also?

Obama's gonna create an army of volunteers that are armed as well as the regular army? Yeah, we have the money for that.
Reminds me of a great line from the movie Contact:
"there's a saying in Washington, why build one when you can build two for twice the cost".

Communism, fascism, socialism are all intertwined? Our reporter nails this one.

Ah, now czars are a problem. Last eight years, not so much.
Love the "you know this how" moment. I guess we could assume that the reporter can read.

Glen Beck is a logical thinker? Love to see ole Glen in a debate, especially with Rachel Maddow. I bet he'd cry at some point.

Well that was fun. Thanks Pdog !!

One more,

We want to take our country back? Back from who? I happen to have voted for Obama, along with 54 million other Americans.
I guess she doesn't want to participate in democracy?

Alert Board Moderator about this Post!
So we are led to believe that the thousands upon thousands of protestors that marched on DC this past Saturday are all a bunch of angry white racists. We are told that the hundreds of thousands of people that showed up at townhall meeting this past August were, likewise, angry white racists. There is not any real grassroots movement, right? No, these are nothing more than stooges that are being hoisted up by the likes of Fox News, Glenn Beck, Rush, etc. The fact that the NYT, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC,etc. never once covered or reviewed Mark Levin's huge best selling book-Liberty and Tyranny, is because Levin's fans are just a bunch of angry white racists, correct? Levin's book has sold over a million copies even without any media coverage. However, it only sold to angry white racists, no? I mean there can be no other explanation, right? Jimmy Carter (formerly the worst president in US, now in the #2 position) has declared Joe Wilson is nothing more than an angry white racist. Pretty funny stuff coming from a hard core jew baiting anti Semite like Jimma, but there ya go.

So I guess that means that the only reason that so many Dems are going to get their pink slips in the midterms is because we have a country full of angry white racists.

New Jersey is about to elect a Republican governor. Huh, we're talking about New Jersey here!

Virginia is also about to throw their Democrat gov to the curb in favor of a Republican.

Harry Reid is toast in Nevada. He's getting trounced in the polls to his Republican rival.

Sen. Michael Bennet from Colorado getting his ass handed to him in every poll by the Republican former Colorado lieutenant governor Jane Norton.

Chris Dodd is enjoying his final days in the US Senate as his numbers continue to plunge, and his Republican challenger's numbers rise.

All of this, every single bit of it, is because the same white majority that voted for Barack Obama for president have now transformed into nothing but angry white racists.

You guys keep telling yourselves that.

It can only help Dems for you to make your predictions, so please, tell us more.

Is Sarah gonna take the White House back for you too?

She's getting ready to make a blooper film in China, so it might not be an easy call.

Funman?

...

Oh, and by the way, did you know that Joe Wilson has four sons, all of which made Eagle Scout? Did you know that? They also all four served in the military, and two of them are currently still serving in Iraq and Afganistan.

Hard to believe that this angry white racist had the time to raise such America loving sons that have achieved so much, huh?

The lunatics on both ideological sides are scary, but what's even scarier now is that the right-wing lunatics are being embraced and encouraged by the GOP leadership, whether entertainers or politicians. I hope rational, evidence-based conservatives can take their party back from the ignorant, cynical, psuedo-intellectuals and fear-mongers and like Beck and Limbaugh that have taken over the GOP.

Those people don't hate Obama's policies, they don't even undertand them, or any of the -isms that they repeat from their Fox cheerleaders... What they hate, what really engenders their anger, is that Obama is better than they are... Do you hear that Riffy? They can't stand his intellectualism (you really miss that Bush talk, doncha?) most of all, but then combine it with his unflappable composure (7 minutes frozen on sept. 11th), eloquence (he knows english), and cool competence (he earned his degrees), it drives them into the stratosphere (calling him a fascist, socialist and communist)). In other words, they want  to think they are better, real americans, not like say you and me... but the truth is, they aren't willing to do the work to get informed (see video again or just watch Glen Beck for 10 minutes). It takes alot less work to be part of an angry mob ( bus ticket, hotel room), than an informed individual (reading, writing, arithmetic). It also takes alot of courage to stand up against this type of anger... the only thing that is true in this healthcare debate, is we can't fund it... that's it... the rest is bullshit, and we also can't afford to not do it... and it may cost us alot more than we think if we don't... the smoking gun, in this scenario, may be alot of very sick, dying poor people and bill that taxpayers and the middle class are going to get anyway!!!

Right, they each pick up on their own worst fear and protest that. And then there's this different looking President. It's hard for them to square these.

Lots of old favorites in the video, Muslim, not born here, but most of the people were calm enough. Safety in numbers? Anyway, there is another video by the same guy, who definitely had talent disarming them and getting them to talk.

I just cringe when I hear them say what God would want. There were a lot of the Palin supporters, IMO. Some nice people when they're not riled. In general, if there is racism under ones skin, it's gonna come out.

It's a politically fair video, so everybody can read it differently.

It is interesting to think that these people spent money, booked all travel, etc to go to a rally where they protested a conceded point.

amazing that alot of these people are taking part in govt. entitlement programs themselves... my experience is, these people shown here beleive they are using the programs, and they are entitled to this, yet they really beleive minorities are different, and when they use entitlemnet programs they do it because they are lazy, and taking away something they do not deserve.

My next post will be long, and full of examples of your spewing the lies of ignorant conservatism, that you're not even smart enough to create, you just repeat them... but, I will keep in mind, we made you do it, and you've been ganged up on...
I can't wait for you to go off... b/c I'm being so mean to you right now...

While Bush may well have started us down the socialist road, rest assured that Obama is going to force a massive shift left in our lifestyles and turn this country into an unrecognizable country in four short years. Not to mention his radical far far far far far far left agenda that he will ram down our throats with idiotic court appointments. We're fucked. Fucked hard. I will promise right here and right now that most who voted for The One will deny him three times before the cock crows come November 2012. At that time it'll be good riddance to bad rubbish!

All I did was post the results of a national poll that anyone with an ounce of common sense, or truthfulness, instinctively knew to be true already. I KNEW that the vast majority of Obama supporters knew dick about him. I knew that because I know many Obama supporters. They, to a man or woman, knew next to nothing about the man. This poll also clearly shines the light on the blatant and masturbatory Obama bias from the press. Don't bitch at me because I called Obama supporters exactly what most of them were. In a name-drones.

Riffy

Let's see,

you KNEW for a fact Louisiana was a Blue State
you KNEW Obama was TOAST
you KNEW Gwen Ifill was going to throw the debate for Obama
you KNEW the Clash were signed to Capitol Records
you KNEW that Hank Paulson was a Democrat

I think you better slow down on your factual pronouncements.

PS-Speaking of the lies about the human causation of global warming. Did y'all hear about Barry's plan for a $150-$200 per head of cattle tax on all ranchers and dairy farmers in the USA?! Yep, that's right! Comrade Obama plans on charging that much for cow farts!!! LOL! Idiots! The American Cattlemen Assoc. came out and said two weeks ago that if this tax is imposed that over 85% of all privately owned ranches and dairy farms would go bust. That, of course, is exactly what Barry wants. Then HE gets to control them via a state dairy and ranch program. Don't believe it? Then you're an idiot that probably voted for this clown. We are so fucked. A HUGE "I told you so" is coming people!! HUGE!!! He is going to usher in the most radical change of our way of life that this nation has ever seen. Say goodbye to capitalism and free markets. This guy is a Socialist/Communist through and through. We're fucked hard, and I just want to say "Thanks" to all of the idiots that never even bothered to read up on this asshole! Thanks for pissing your own liberty down the toilet! Thanks for pissing mine away as well. Morons. Merry Christmas.

Riffy,
Could you please document the alleged cow fart tax story?  Happy Yule!

I would say Obama, but then I realized that he never had any free market principles to begin with. Plus, I'm not a Bush Geek, so that may disqualify me from answering.

I do know that Barry is about to do something dumber than Bush could ever dream of doing. Barry's about to close GITMO, and bring all those thuggish Islamic fucks here so that the US taxpayer will be forced to pay for their stay in a fed lockup where they can spread the "religion of peace" to all the other thuggish bastards already in prison. Great move douchebag!

This is going to be a fucking disaster.

How dare these fucks try this shit!!!!

Bush moronically agreed to the first round of bailouts, but Barry is gonna make him look like punter!

Oh, and Moonie, shut the fuck up about Bush Geeks you know nothing twit! The only thing that I ever said that Bush did right was protect the country from further attack. He has done a great job at that, and I have it on first hand authority that literally hundreds of attacks were prevented because of actions that he took. I have ALWAYS slammed his drunken sailor type spending!! Always!!! So blow me!

McCain sucked as a candidate because, as any real conservative knows, he is not, and never has been a conservative. Only some McCainiac idiots think otherwise!!! He has a few issues that I agree with, but he is the exact wrong answer for the Republican party! He lost because he was weak on issues that true conservatives care about. He is weak on the border issue. He sucks on GITMO. He panders to the most liberal of Dems. Which is the majority of them these days. He sucked! Got it Moonie!? He sucked! Because of that asshat we'll all be piss poor soon enough!

I don't get it at all. The economy is in the tank because of the idiocy of shitheads like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and their sheer stupidity/greediness with Fannie and Freddie, and now these same fucking clowns are gonna help spend us back to prosperity! Idiots! Oh, and let's not forget that Barrack Obama made more money from Fannie and Freddie than did any other congress member save Chris Dodd and Barney Frank! Shockingly the media decided that that FACT was not an important factor! Certainly it wasn't as important as Palin's clothing!!

Riffy

PS-Hey Moonie, McCan't supported Bush's idiotic bailout too! What's that make him besides a loser?!

"I have it on first hand authority that literally hundreds of attacks were prevented because of actions that he took."

Really? Riffy, you telling me, that you, know more than us? And I'm not surprised you have access to all this insider information, seeing as how you don't go gabbing on the internet or anything... My question is, do you believe this, are you delusionsal or do you just say it to make your self look informed? One is a lie, the other is a mental condition. You have no inside source that proves hundreds of attacks were prevented, you have access to the same info as me and almost every other person...

I like your rant on McCain, all I keep wondering, how much you miss Sarah...

Come on guys. Let's hear it. How can this blatant attempt at wealth redistribution and social egineering be explained in the context of what the US Constitution allows? Anyone? 10th Amendment? Anyone?

Hello? Hello......?

Your silence on this issue is very telling.

I don't suppose you have a recording of Reich's entire remarks.  Or perhaps one with a running clock so we can see howe much of his statement has been removed to create the race-baiting impression which is so obviously the point.

Agreed.  You can read a boatload into what people don't respond to.  Boat ass fucking load.

I'm not a "liberal" under my vague understanding of the term, I don't know who those two people you mentioned are, and don't know what they said.  But my guess is that the reason you have not received any responses is because the Constitutionality of laws aimed at tax rates or laws that disproportionally affect a particular class of citizens is a very complex issue, and whatever "liberals" there are here are probably as clueless as you are about the issue.

Also, your earlier request for responses/arguments based on preamble language in the Declaration of Independence may have confused the fuck out of people, as it did me.  If you can post a link to where you cribbed the 10th amendment or "inalienable rights" theories you referenced, that tries to explain them better, I can try to comment.  Broad concepts/characterizations like "wealth re-distribution" or "social engineering" are not de facto un-Constitutional in any way that I am aware of, since every law ever written accomplishes that to some degree.

Another reason the "liberals" might have failed to respond would be if the statements you are interested in were about progressive tax rates or affirmative action.  That stuff got decided erroneously decades ago, and its hardly anything new.  Ask George Walker Bush III, he didn't do jack about either one.  So its hardly the issue de jour, and focusing on it now as if it were some unheard of colossal shift in government policy is goofy.  Moreover, its hardly worth even noting that a president who is a product of affirmative action is going to be for it nor, as you constantly assert, would those who voted for Obama be unaware of such an obvious fact.  They are either stupidly in favor of it, or more likely don't care because of its relative nonimportance in a day where former socialist presidents are fucked up enough to release captured terrorists.

Those are just my guesses as to the silence of the liberals.

You're a moron. There is nothing, absolulty nothing, conservative about you! You have managed to make frineds with so many liberals here big boy. How Mavericky of you! Be Proud! There is nothing difficult to understand about the 10th Amendment. The Framers wrote it so that even a moron like you could understand it. Yet you don't. You're a Maverick!

The feed was lifted straight from C-Span. No amount of editing can change the words or the meaning of what they are saying. What they are talking about here is wealth redistributuion and social engineering. It can't be denied or defended. They are blatant about it, and the plan is in keeping with Barry's ideology via Sal Alinsky's socialist nirvana. This is why not one single liberal can defend it. But keep trying you "true" conservative! ROTFLMMFAO!!!

"When the federal government taxes hard working people and then launders that money through the federal bureaucracy and redistributes it to people that do not work, or haven't earned said monies, then that is wealth redistribution. Furthermore, when the government directs that same money towards certain segments of the citizenry like, oh I don't know, say "minorities, the long term unemployed, and women" , but avoids granting any of it to, hmmm...let's say "highly skilled professionals and white male construction workers" then they are attempting to engineer the society, or they are said to be engaging in what we would refer to as "social engineering". Got it? It ain't that difficult."

WASHINGTON (AP) _ A senior Democratic senator urged the Obama administration to suspend hundreds of millions of dollars in repairs to the nation's border stations Wednesday, saying Homeland Security officials were treating the economic stimulus plan like a "bottomless pit" of taxpayer money.

Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., said he was not persuaded by assurances from Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano that stimulus money was handed out appropriately for renovations at border checkpoints. This is unusually pointed criticism from a member of the president's own party about how the administration is handling economic recovery spending.

The Associated Press reported last month that Homeland Security officials did not follow their internal priority lists when choosing which border checkpoints would get money. The result is that tiny crossings in Montana and Dorgan's home state are set to get money ahead of busier, higher-priority border stations.

Homeland Security officials say they acted appropriately. Dorgan was unconvinced, even though his state stands to receive more than $128 million for checkpoint improvements.

"There's no common sense at all to a requirement that says you've got to put up a $15 million facility for a small port of entry that's host to about five vehicles an hour," Dorgan said in a telephone interview. "That seems to suggest that there's a bottomless pit of taxpayers' money out there to be spent."

Thanks for that link, some guy!

I found this commentary worthy of a copy and paste:

From Sammy

I will respond to this by saying that yesterday afternoon instead of listening to the radio and the inane yammerings of talk hosts, I instead hopped over to Shadows Falls’ Myspace site, where they are currently streaming their new album, Retribution. And I will tell you that it’s an amazing metal album that made me forget about morons like those in these two videos.

Then I went home and watched five hours of football (with a break in between to walk my pooch). Ignorance was so bliss.

Okay, I lied. I really do have to comment. It’s amazing that people can just repeat from memory what they’ve heard Beck or Rushbo or Hannity say without even having one iota of actual knowledge.

The first thing I do when I hear a statistic or some so-called fact is a Google search for opposing points of view. I do that whether the source is liberal or conservative. If Maddow says it, if No-lip Olbermann says it, if Maher says it, I question it. Okay, if Jon Stewart says it I believe it.

Yesterday a conservative co-worker came up to me and said, “Did you hear that Maureen Dowd said Joe Wilson called the President ‘boy’?” I asked where he’d heard that, because I, in fact, had actually read the article. I told him that instead of “hearing” something and believing it, it’s really better to question everything you read and hear and investigate.

I have a saying: If you only look for the bad in someone, that’s all you’ll find.

Tut, tut, P Diddley.  It's RACIALIST.

...
Reading your reposts of Mr. Riffhard's old
schtick is a little like the latter days of Lenny
Bruce's career, when he went onstage and
read from transcripts of his various trials.
While I am getting a kick out of it, I'm sure
most people are just skipping over it.  You'd
be better off dishing it out in small doses.
People these days need sound bytes, not
novellas.

I've gotta say, though, that Mr. Riffhard's posts from the early
days of the war are pretty amazing. A stunning mixture of
ignorance and arrogance, swallowing and regurgitating EVERY
neocon lie (al Queda fighting side by side with Saddam, WMDs
everywhere, we'll be greeted as liberators, it'll be a cake walk,
it's a slam dunk...you name it) magnified by his current insistence
that anyone who doesn't absolutely hate everything about the
POTUS is an "idealogue", and topped off by his posting Matthew
7: 1-5, which I have  directed toward him multiple times in this
labyrinthine thread. Of course he chose a crappier translation -
I prefer "mote" to "splinter" - but the key phrase is still "Thou
hypocrite".  Then again, since Mr. Riffhard NEVER reads anything
I write - I guess his backchannel buddies just send him the gist of
it in daily PMs - howe would he know that?

In honor of those remarkable posts  I've cooked him up a little snack...

She's going to vote for McCain if Hillery doesn't get the Dem nomination?

If it's not about policy, then what could it be about?

You know, the ODDEST thing about your particular brand of, um, patriotism is that you seem to believe that America is the greatest country in the world - except for the Government, and the majority of the people who live here, who are evidently the absolute dregs of the earth and are too stupid to be trusted with anything.  So exactly what IS it about America you love so much? Just the idea of it? YOUR idea of it?

You and your pals trusted the Government to make the proper assessment of intel reports, and pull off the invasion of, destruction  of, and subsequent half-assed rebuilding of Iraq.   Is it THAT abject failure which makes you think the Government can't do anything right?   Because we voted those bums out of office.

Do you believe that the second amendment gives you the right to overt rebellion? Is that where your teabagging shenanigans are headed? How far will you go to "save" America from the Marxist Menace? Nobody's talking about impeachment - so what ARE you wingnuts talking about?

...
I ask this periodically but none of you ever has the balls to answer it.
