Although I appreciate and support the 2nd Amendment, I think it is stupid to bring a weapon to a political discussion.
It makes no sense, period.

I do feel better knowing that these individuals are in the cross hairs of secret service sharpshooters at these events.

Some of us conservatives believe in exercising Constitutional rights other than the 1st Amendment -- we like the 2nd too!

I think it is great.

Congressman Moran is having a town hall meeting soon.

Maybe I'll bring my gun along!

No biggie, it is defective anyway... it hasn't killed anyone since I bought it!

Debt, Legal Problems Plague Obama-Touted Healthcare Reforms in Mass., Tenn.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 1:14 PM

By: David A. Patten

If you're curious what life would be like under Obamacare, experts suggest that you consider reforms instituted in Massachusetts and Tennessee that have left Massachusetts residents deeply dissatisfied and threatened to bankrupt the Volunteer State.

It's hard to imagine two more divergent testing grounds for government-subsidized healthcare reform: Massachusetts, a northeast corridor commonwealth with the fourth-highest per-capita income in the nation, and Tennessee, a proud Southern state with the nation's 36th-highest per-capita income.

For both, however, the push for universal coverage followed a familiar pattern: noble goals and initial optimism, followed by mounting bills and legal problems, and finally, a disenchanted electorate wondering if the whole enterprise was ill-conceived from the very start.

"As soon as I heard about this public option, I thought, 'I know how this works,'" said GOP Tennessee Rep. Phil Roe, a physician who has labored under that program. Roe recently told The Wall Street Journal he's been warning congressional colleagues to stay away from public-option healthcare reform "until I'm hoarse."

the constitution and exile on main st. are both living documents... i've never heard anyone call them living and breathing documents, that's taking the term way out of context... you do know what a lving document is? I assume you don't since you called it breathing as well... Riffy you're spinning faster than a triiping hippie at a dead show!!! slow down...

Huh Pdog quite a few liberals do, in fact, use the phrase "living and breathing" when discussing the US Constitution. Just because you haven't heard this phrase does not mean that stupid liberals don't say it! They do all the time in fact!!

do you know what fact means? Who are "they" and what makes what you said a fact?
I did say i consider it a living document...  What do you think it is? It is a design for how americans live, guidlines and principles and laws to govern. so you go one and take to your name calling, and you think this makes you right. ugh! Whatever. I suppose you consider it a dead thing, since under Bush and now Obama it might aw well be. Your regurgitation of the right wing randon talking out of the ass thing isn't even good anymore... you're just saying stuff without considering how much you contradict your past rants and seem to have completely ignored certain things, like what you call a fact, is your opinion... which as you know, everyone has and yours is the minority opinion now... and you're becoming unglued b/c of that.... you better get used to being a minority, b/c white male right wing conservatives are the new nigger on the back of the bus...
here's an easy question, that I know you can't really answer without vitriol... Why do you think, the millions without healthcare haven't been loud and raucous or even disruptive despite being the people who need something and a voice heard? Yet, the people who have, and aren't in danger of a medical crisis b/c of no money or insurance are freaking the fuck out?
and after you tell me about how we will become a socialized country and kill old people, remind me again how we are going to run like the NHS in the UK, with our Govt. run hospital and medical suppliers and Doctors who are govt. employes... maybe you can just make up some more facts and call me names... that'll convince me you're right!

It's certainly ugly.

It will pass with a public option because Obama is a decent human being, and he's doing this for the right reason.
Blue dogs will get on the correct side of this.

That's probable, but it's what I believe the outcome will be.
He doesn't. Somehow our liberty will be threatened (in a way that the Patriot Act doesn't).

I find it interesting, how the arguments of the opposing side are almost entirely based on faulty information. And while I do entertain the possibility that I too have misinformation guiding my opinion, I don't fall for the obvious lies (euthanasia, socialist agenda, not a citizen, etc). I often wonder if an adult debate will happen. This is going to cost a bundle, but at least we're spending on citizens, not multi billion dollar industries. Not a fucking war based on LIES. Not a fucking crusade to kill Muslims.

Yeah, Obama's different. He's better.

See you are once again misreading what Obama's intentions are. You are also making claims about the opposition's "faulty information". The socialist agenda is absolutly correct. Or do you just willingly ignore the man's entire history? Euthanasia? WTF are you talking about? Are you talkibng about the "death panels"? Because if you are you are, once again, wrong. Please see the House Bill Section 1233 pages 25,26,27. It spells out it out rather clearly that the government would gauge a person's life expectancy, and then decide on the treatment given. This has already been struck from the bill because Palin touched a nerve, and then people actually read the bill and were rightly outraged. As for the non-citizen. Well funman, you're wrong again! Bravo! The WH is having a real tough time juggling all of their lies, but yes, non citizens would be covered should a public option become reality.

I still am trying to figure out why you guys have so much faith in the government determining your health care requirements? Are you so enamored of the federal governement running everything that you would hand over your health care choices to a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington whose number one agenda is saving money? Oh, and don't forget, if you want to keep the insirance that you have now the federal government will now impose punative taxes on you. Great!

Pdog you gotta know that there are only a few posters here that will never ever get a civil response from me. Tops on that list is JC/Flea. The guy called me, and several other posters nazis and then he stormed off like a little pussy. He then comes back with a very offensive alias, and does so just to rub it peoples' faces. Plus he constantly posts these insipid elitist "holier than thou" (pardon the pun) posts just tripping with contempt for those he apparently hates. I was nice to the guy, I got him a press kit at the blimp event. I drank with the man, and how do I get treated when our political differences come to light? With the most hateful exit post in the history of this site. I haven't time for the bastard. He made his bed, and I could give two flying fucks about him now. It'd be safe to say that I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire. Otherwise I'd have no problem pissing on him.

Other than JC/Flea and a couple of others, who needn't be mentioned here, I try not too get personal or overly nasty. Unless you consider the word "drone" nasty. I just can't come up with a word that is more accurate than drone. Sometimes I get a little testy, but hey that's the nature of political debate.

Oh, and don't forget, if you want to keep the insirance that you have now the federal government will now impose punative taxes on you. Great!

See, you can respond without being mean... my hat is off to you.

I understand your feelings about the past... but you're contradicting yourself, you say you don't care, when the truth is you care alot. I get it, he did something that you feel was fucked up... but you either do what you say and don't give a fuck or you do what you've been doing and give it all the negative energy... you can piss on him, just sometimes you piss on some others... then again, i remember when we invaded iraq, you were ok with colleteral damage, something that i find disturbing. anyway it is what it is...

Well Pdog the deal is this from my perspective. I really don't care about the guy. However, when a post of his is directed at me, or my views with the sole intent of trying to belittle me, or my views then I will respond in kind.

As for the war in Iraq goes. I think you may have misunderstood my views on collateral damage. I am not at all ok with it, but I know that the history of warfare includes collateral damage, and I accept that as a cold hard fact of war. Nobody in their right mind likes war, and certainly not the loss of innocent life to collateral damage, but such is the price of such nasty business. I'm not ok with it though. I just accept it as a fact that can never be changed. I mean if you look at the history of warfare, and compare it to the loss of innocent life by today's satndards it's not even close. The USA has the most sophisticated technologically advanced weaponery in the world. Yet even with these very advanced "smart weapons" accidents happen. Did collateral damage happen in Iraq? Absolutely. However, we have tried to limit that damage to the extent that our science can. Compare our efforts to those of the IED loving terrorists and it's easy to see that we are certainly on the moral high ground here. There is zero moral equivalency between the terrorists and the USA. Whether you agreed with the war in Iraq or not is not really the point. I'd say that the policy can be debated, but to try and claim that the USA was acting in an evil way is absurd. The same can not be said about the enemy.

PS-I'm not claiming that you, Pdog, were saying that the USA was acting with evil intent btw.

It's certainly ugly.

It will pass with a public option because Obama is a decent human being, and he's doing this for the right reason.
Blue dogs will get on the correct side of this.

riffy is going to yell at you and call you obscene names for this...

Bravo! The WH is having a real tough time juggling all of their lies, but yes, non citizens would be covered should a public option become reality.

those same IED's are being used mostly against Iraqi civilians... there were no attacks like that prior to us invading.  For you accept colleteral death "as a cold hard fact" is a matter of opinion... you may accept it, other do not... I know the survivors then have a reason to want to attack and kill us... how many become emboldened after being bombed by us? Afterall, didn't we do the same thing, only with these advanced weapons, that may make mistakes. It's semantics.

"By far the greater part of violence that humans have inflicted on each other is not the work of criminal's or the mentally deranged, but of normal, respectable citizens in service of the collective ego."

You may not agree, but this is a great fact for me...

I thought Barney Frank was out of line with his comment, but I understand why he couldn't control himself.

It could have been a teachable moment. He is much smarter than this.

The fox coverage was pretty funny, if one considers for a moment how they call themselves a news channel.
It was probably the source of the woman's confused position.

I know that liberals love to loath Fox News. I mean I get it. Fox News draws more viewers than CNN, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, and CSNBC combined. It's easy to understand the tunnel vision mentality of libs. They can't understand how Fox can be so dominant when everyone they know also hates Fox.

So it must really drive libs nuts when The Columbia School of Journalism releases results of their blind tests that prove that Fox News is far and away the most balanced newscast on broadcast television. That must really piss off liberals. Not only did Columbia (no conservative bastion there btw!) find Fox to be the most balanced, but so too does the Center For Media and Public Affairs. Who are they? They are a non-partisan....well you know what, just read this.

Hey funman what do you think about Barry's latest quote when talking to a group of rabbis and other clerics?

You heard it, right?

No?

Check it out----> "We are God's partner in matters of life and death."

Wow! Imagine if Bush had said that?! Bush said that he prays to God before making hard choices, and liberals went nuts! Oh, and it's worth mentioning that Abraham Lincoln said almost the exact same thing as Bush did concerning prayer.

But now we have Barry putting himself "on par" with God!!! This guy is a fucking joke! A JOKE!!! A HUGE FUCKING JOKE!!!!

Sounds like Sarah Palin may have been right afterall. Barry is ready to decide who lives and dies. I mean he is "God's partner" afterall.

And you voted for him!!! ROTFLMMFAO!!!!

That's because we all suspect in our heart of hearts that there isn't a "God". There is only hope, or faith.
A politician can't really say that though, because many (most) citizens say they believe there is a God.
So saying "partners" allows believers and nonbelievers to coexist.

W said God talks to him, a huge distinction.

look at the record charts and what movies most people go see what TV shows people watch and the covers of the best seeling magazines..., then tell me how popularity means anything other than a collective lack of intelligence... Fox news perpetuates this ignorance and exploits misinformation. Balanced doesn't mean factual.
They are pretty consistent in factual errors.
And consistent in the direction of the bias of these errors.

It was that way before the 2008 election. So there lies the effect of this poll you cite.

Why do you roll on the floor when laughing?

Palin has much more executive experience as does Barry funman. You may not like to acknowledge that, but it's true. It's also true that the media went after her and her family to degree not seen since,.....well, never seen in fact. Oh how they loved to speculate about her rational for having a baby with Downs Syndrome. Surely it wasn't just love, and compassion?! No, liberals were looking for her angle when giving birth to a DS baby. You liberals are a pretty twisted bunch. You slam Sarah Palin who did exactly what to you? She was a very popular governor, and is a devoted mother and wife. She is a person of faith, and that too grates at your every nerve.

Liberals love to hate Palin almost as much as they love to hate Fox News. But, let's be very clear here. Obama, a man that attended a church that preached anti semitism, preached hate of country, and race based philosophy. Obama a man who associated with a man who committed acts of terror on his own country, and did so with zero regrets. Obama who got a sweet little housing deal from a well known Chicago crook who is now a federal prisoner. Obama who called Khalid Rashidi friend! Now this is a guy that liberals can embrace!! This is a guy that liberals can look up to!!!!

Yet Palin, a wife, a mother, and a woman of faith, she's a joke! She should be ridiculed and feared! Do you see just how idiotic that position is funman?!?!?!
