you keep arguing something that doesn't exist, and that is an elimination of prvt. ins. and people being forced into a govt. run system.
The rest of what you're stating is def. where me and you differ. I'm not against big biz, I'm against biz unregulated and operating special interests groups and lobbys that directly influence legislation and give them an unfair advantage and the abiltiy to screw over the citizens of the USA... that's not commie or socialist... I'm anti-fascist.
Where I do agree with, at least on point, is that having private industry bear the blame is wrong. If in the theory a company was regulated and providing what the consumer is paying for, this debate regarding how they operate ends for me. I want healthcare for everyone b/c I don't want sick people bankrupting the hopsitals and already existing social system. As we stand that's what is happening, b/c untreated illness and people using ER's for first care are killing us already. The way things are going, private ins. is forced to raise premiums, cut benefits and it is b/c hopsitals are not getting paid for ER visits or the people showing up are draining the services. What is being proposed actaully can eliminate some of the cost and burden on both hospitals and insurance companies. That is a real part of the legislation, not this made up stuff you claim is going to force insurance companies to close shop.

Pdog no offense bro, but I am really beginning to wonder if you have fallen under the spell of drone-ism. I give you a video of three Democrats saying flat out that they ultimately want to have a "single payer" "everybody in, nobody out" government run health care program. One of those democrats says right up front that she wants to destroy the private insurance industry. Another one is the Chair of the House Financial Services Committee (Barney Frank), and the other is none other than the President of the United States, and you still claim that what we have just seen and heard is not real! Are you even slightly serious?!?! Perhaps you haven't studied the history of Barack Obama and his work with ACORN.

You honestly think that he wants private insurance as a valid option for most Americans?!?! That is totally not in keeping with his history, his stated position from many times in the past, and it sure as hell is not in keeping with his hard left ideology!! You think that he honestly means it when he says, "If you like your insurance plan you can keep it." You believe that lie? Let me ask you a question. If he means then why has he also said that he plans on taxing employees that receive employer funded insurance plans?! Why would he do that? As if that weren't enough he also tells the employers that he's going to tax them as well!

So Obama's plan is to tax all Americans that get their insurance through the private sector via their employers. At the same time he's going to also tax those employers all in order to fund a national health care plan that nobody wants! Again, it's important to remember that every recent poll has shown that between 85-90% of all Americans are happy with their own plans! Barry can't have that! So what does he do? He plans on pricing us, and our employers right out of them through punitive taxation!

He says clear as a bell in the video, "I can envision in 15 or 20 years out replacing employer based plans. We are not going to get there overnight." What more proof could anyone possibly need?! He makes it very clear. He wants to incrementally move people away from employer based private health care, and on to the government tit. Yet you are trying to tell us that we should not believe our own ears? I mean damn Pdog, it was only last week that Barney Frank said that he wanted total government control too, but we had to get their incrementally for political reasons!

Are you kidding?  Religions, especially Christian religions, are under attack constantly by people just like you!
You judge these people as kooks, lumping them together as if their beliefs are somehow inferior to yours.

But most churches are open to those who wish to believe.
They have faith that some things do not have to proven by scientists to be true.
I am not one of those people, but I respect and tolerate their beliefs because I have yet to see them causing any problems with thier beliefs.

It is rather telling that funman rails against Christianity, and Christians in particular, as being intolerant. I guess his tolerance only extends to those that he agrees with. Hypocrisy much?

This just in:

A former Blackwater employee and an ex-US Marine who has worked as a security operative for the company have made a series of explosive allegations in sworn statements filed on August 3 in federal court in Virginia. The two men claim that the company's owner, Erik Prince, may have murdered or facilitated the murder of individuals who were cooperating with federal authorities investigating the company. The former employee also alleges that Prince "views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe," and that Prince's companies "encouraged and rewarded the destruction of Iraqi life."

In their testimony, both men also allege that Blackwater was smuggling weapons into Iraq. One of the men alleges that Prince turned a profit by transporting "illegal" or "unlawful" weapons into the country on Prince's private planes. They also charge that Prince and other Blackwater executives destroyed incriminating videos, emails and other documents and have intentionally deceived the US State Department and other federal agencies. The identities of the two individuals were sealed out of concerns for their safety.

Christianity, it's not just for Sunday's anymore . . .

Good, good, Funman.....I can feel the hatred rising within you! Use your anger! Strike them down!!!

Oh yeah, and while you're at it your strawman looks like it's in need of a restuffing!

Not hatred, but deep concern. I don't have any personal fear, I'm white.
More light will be shed on what has been going on in the name of religion.

I think you know what it's like to be a non believer, when you consider the Koran as the true word of God.
Isn't it obvious to you that the Koran is not the true word of God?
Isn't it obvious to you that those that do believe in the Koran, have a perfect barrier to any critical questions of this text?

Jesus, you of all people shouldn't be a "shoot the messenger" type.
Ain't that what got you hung out to dry?

You mean that time I got crucified?  Well, that's a long story.

...
But I wasn't recommending shooting anyone.  I'm not much of a gun freak.  I was just surprised when I looked up your "some lawyer" and saw it was Orly Taitz.   She's a rather well-known kook.  I would think you would "vet" your info before you pass it along to the rest of the gang. Unless you were just maliciously spreading spurious misinformation.

Yeah she is a big conspiracy theorist and yeah she is a birther.
But if I had a Kenyan birth certificate for Obama, I would want to find a lawyer.

And if I also needed some dental work and to buy a summer home I would definitely contact Orly.
By a funny coincidence, they tell me that Orly is computer lingo for "Oh...REALLY??"
...
If I wanted to be taken seriously with my Kenyan Birth Certificate, I might go for someone who isn't batshit insane.  But hey, that's just me.

Anonymity in such matters is not unusual.
It isn't like an anonymous source being quoted and you cannot confront the accusation.
The copy is out there to be reviewed.

I have seen claims that it is a fake, but that is not surprising.
Obama has a lot of supporters that would really prefer that this woman and the certificate be discredited.

I really never bought into the whole birther thing.
Seemed to me that Clinton Inc. would have used that during the campaign if it were true.
Yet we have a Kenyan birth certificate.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/04/whos-crazier-orly-taitz-o_n_251270.html

As far as having Orly discredited - have you seen her? Could anyone discredit her more than herself? Please click on the link above. Hold your nose if you must, as it's the dreaded Huffpo, but we won't tell anyone.

Are those really people who's side you want to be on?

Oh...right...you're not a birther yourself...

So, I wonder...where exactly did the "birthers" stand on the whole issue of George W. Bush's military records?  It seems like as soon as that one document was proven to be a fake, everyone involved had to throw themselves on their swords and the issue was dropped - at least by the MSM, those dirty liberals.

Do you think that'll happen when they find out this Kenyan birth certificate is a fake? Will Orly be disbarred and lose her license to practice dentistry?

That's funny - me spreading "spurious misinformation" when I post that a lawyer has produced a Kenyan birth cert. and link to the site.

YOU are the one that has tried in every way possible to suggest that the document must be false because the person presenting it is a "kook," or that I vouch or otherwise align myself with said kook, or that I should have never posted the information without some disclaimer that the lawyer is a "kook."

I think we all know who the kook really is!

And that IS shooting the messenger.
You may not be a gun freak, but you are still a freak.

Anyway, I don't care who she is, I would like to understand the document.

What's that?

Oh sure, here ya go...
from the Examiner (disclaimer:  your mileage may vary):

Along with the introduction of what appears to be the most valid-looking Obama birth certificate came an almost immediate attempt to debunk it. This attempt was immediately eaten up by MSNBC, Obama’s main propaganda network, by hosts like Keith Olbermann.

The main argument of this attempt to debunk the certificate is that Kenya hadn’t yet become a republic at the time the document was dated: Feb 14, 1964. The argument is that Kenya was officially declared a republic in December of that year.
The second most important argument is that the region he was born in wasn’t called Mombasa at the time: it was instead Zanzibar.
Another argument is that the hospital he was supposedly born in was called “Coast Provincial General Hospital,” yet the document says “Coast General Hospital.”
One more argument is that his father’s address has within it “Nyanza Province,” but at the time it would have been called “Central Nyanza District.”
The final argument is that his father would have been 24 or 25 at the time, not 26, as the document states.

There are other suspicious, circumstantial arguments, too.
The document number is said to be 47O44, seemingly a compilation of his age as of the time the document was obtained “47,” his presidential order “44,” and an O for Obama.
Also, the Signature of the Registrar’s name is E.F. Lavender, an abbreviation of a name of detergent called “Earth Friendly Lavender.”

At first look, this seems like a lot of evidence that the document is a forgery. That is, until we actually take the time to dissect these claims.

Kenya was first announced as the “Republic of Kenya” in the country’s Constitution, dated Dec. 12, 1963. It is claimed that everything wasn’t official with the name change until Dec. 1964, which is true; however, it took a year to make this gradual change. It didn’t happen in one day. "CHAPTER I - THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA, Article 1, Kenya is a sovereign Republic. Article 1A, The Republic of Kenya shall be a multiparty democratic state…" The 1964 date that people are confusing involves an act of the British Parliament in regard to the Commonwealth of Nations, not the origin of the Republic.

The “Central Nyanza District” argument is just total hogwash. The area changed names to “Nyanza Province” even before his dad was born there.

The absence of “Provincial” in the hospital’s name is irrelevant. You can find it named with and without that word in its title from multiple sources.

Mombasa became part of Kenya in 1963, so having the document obtained in 1964 would require a name change of his place of origin from Zanzibar to Mombasa.
Barack Obama, Jr. was born in Aug., 1961.    Barack Obama, Sr.’s birthday is more obscure. It is said he was born in 1936, but no specific date is given. If this is true, it would make him 25. As the actual date is obscure, it doesn’t appear to be a huge dilemma that he may have been born instead in 1935. In addition, birth certificates aren’t necessary for the creation of new ones. Am I off-base to think Barack Jr. may have learned his trick of birth secrecy from someone?

Well that sums up the important arguments. Now for the circumstantial ones.

I don’t really even understand what is funny about having “E. F. Lavender” as a Registrar. Couldn’t a forger have come up with a funnier name? What does a dish detergent have to do with any of this? Do people think no one is named E.F. Lavender? Here’s a picture of Eric Lavender in Uganda, which neighbors Kenya. Maybe this is the guy? One guy even told me he saw Registrar Lavender’s plaque in the Registrar’s office. I guess I don’t even understand why people consider this an issue. If I were forging the document, I’d rather put a funnier, more relevant name in that slot, like B. M. Helfmovment.

The only interesting thing about the birth certificate to me is the file number, but even this has been fudged slightly. It is said that the number is “47O44” from propaganda issuers like Keith Olbermann. There is no O in the number, it’s a 0. That’s zero if you still can’t tell the difference. I admit the other numbers are coincidental, but I think it is far too assumptive to mean they discredit anything. I know I’ve had much bigger coincidences happen in my life.

The goal of this article is not to say that the birth certificate is 100% authentic. It may be a hoax. The goal of the article is to show that the Obama sheeple are clinging to debunking propaganda, which for all we know may have been initiated by the Obama campaign itself, in order to try to maintain the idea that their leader is innocent. We don’t know if it’s legitimate, yet. But right now, the birth certificate has not been properly debunked. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out. Taitz’s court date is set for December. Other lawyers from across the country are on top of many of the other issues regarding the birth certificate problem.

Many sheeple have been questioning why the birthers have been claiming that this might be real when it is a copy and not the original, like the Hawaiian one birthers want to see. The reason is that this is a copy of an actual registration. The Hawaiian Certification of Live Birth isn’t a copy of a real birth certificate. They could be obtained by citizens who weren’t naturally born. Obama’s sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, was born in Indonesia. No one disputes this. Guess what? She has a Hawaiian Certification of Live Birth, too.  How can this be? Hawaiian law didn’t require people to be natural born citizens, born in Hawaii, in order to obtain one. Therefore, Obama hasn’t showed anything resembling proof of his citizenship. This is why this birther thing is still an issue! How can it be solved? All that is required to put all of this to rest is for Obama to give Hawaii permission, in his presidential capacity, to show people the long-form certificate. It’s that simple to resolve. So, why all the secrecy?

Isn't this the birth certificate that belongs to an Australian guy, and he was on TV stating he has his original at his house?
He had this certificate posted on his family tree website, where it is assumed someone grabbed the JPG and started editing.
He went on to say that some of the info on the fake certificate was minimally doctored. A lot of the info remains as it is on his original.

I think this is over, unless something new has surfaced . . .

"Pdog no offense bro, but I am really beginning to wonder if you have fallen under the spell of drone-ism."

You still haven't answered where Gazza stated you were lying about the NHS in the UK, have you?
By your definition, since you're the person who defines what a drone is, I have no dog in the fight. I have never suported Obama, nor am I demoocrat. I also do not folow their idealogy or political philsophy. I am a Liberal, Libertarian be political defintion. And niether is mutually exclusive. You know what is kinda of dronism? Taking a video, and a BS conspiracy that the president even isn't an American and saying it over and over. The video, is funny. It's two or theee different places where Obama is speaking, then Frank and I forget the womans name, from the house... That is your proof, that prvt ins. is to be eliminated? I've seen you specualte before, and even shit you said regarding Geoge Bush, he even said was wrong. Like WMD's, you swore they existed and would be found!!! You're not really good at predicting the future. You really want me to take your video serious? Why, because you say so? Am I telling you you have to beleive me or think what I do? No! I'm not authouritarian, and no offense, haha. That's not a good thing be. So tell me, the dates and times of all these clips  in the videos? Show me the full speeaches or interviews or prees confs. You really that into soundbites, to base you're argument on? Is that all you have?
If someone disagrees with you, they are wrong, stupid, idiots, drones ect... yawn!
you want a fact? Here's one, when did I tell you, what you should beleive? When have I told you, that you must use the facts and info I present only, as a basis to refute anything I say? Think about it. Here's another thing for you? What was the last time, you posted a solution for some of these issues?
What is your solution for healthcare?
What is your plan for keeping the envoirment healthy?
how do your propose we ensure entitlement programs like SS, survive the baby boomers?

All I hear about these issues is how someone else is to blame, and how they are wrong... what is the last thing a Republican has said or done to actually help make this country better, stronger, healthier and safer? Republicans are one step behind The Dems right now, and they are at rock bottom... Have you seen those poll numbers? You know why everyone is so negative? B/c all they here is complaints and blame, no solution... and you're a aprt of that problem. Zero solution.
You've never even answered me about The contract with america or Gazza, you just skim past that, and then call me a drone. At least I know I try to respond to you, even though your'e reduntant, and this was covered by me already... I also do it without be hostille and calling you names. FYI, if you have to preface a comment, with no offense bro, chances are you're probably going to say something kinda dickish!!! It's like when someone says, all due respect, that pretty much means someone is about to get dissed!!!
I want Americans covered. Yes. I want equal rights for all americans and I want schools to be so well funded the water fountains shoot out lemonade. You got your war in Iraq, we are all paying for it big time. So, suck it up, you gotta pay for this too, just like me...

After 6 Months, More View Obama's Presidency as a 'Failure' Than Bush's
Posted by Tom Bevan |

A rather surprising finding from the newly released CNN poll. Question three on the national survey of 1,136 adults (which includes an oversample of African-Americans) asks, "Do you consider the first six months of the Obama administration to be a success or a failure?"

Thirty-seven percent (37%) said they believe the Obama administration is a "failure," while 51% consider it a "success" and 11% say it's still "too soon to tell."

An identical question was asked of the Bush administration in an August 2001 CNN/Gallup/USA Today survey.  At the time, 56% said the Bush administration was a "success" while only 32% considered it a "failure."

The beginning of 2004, I'm sure not many expected to red sox to win the WS...but by October guess who won the WS? The red sox.

It's not how you start, but how you finish.

Out of curiosity, what was Bush's exit poll numbers. 70% failure? 30% success? That was an estimated guess.

Let's look at just how successful Barry has been thus far-

Stimulus Package to the tune of 787 billion dollars. Most of what has been spent has gone directly to Democrat constituents, and groups likes ACORN.

A Omnibus bill to the tune of 410 billion dollars. Where did that money go? Your guess is as good as anyone's.

A Cap and Trade bill which even the CBO Director (hired by Barack Obama himself) says will cost over 2,000,000 jobs, and cost the nation billions upon billions in lost revenue.

A Health Care Reform Bill that will cost an estimated 37 million Amercians their private insurance coverage, and cost hundreds of thousands in more lost jobs. Not to mention the largest exspansion of federal government in US history.

Yeah he's going to do a great job at turning the shit storm, that he created, around. Wanna make a bet on that?

Notice how the WH has now started calling the health care bill an insurance reform bill? Why are they doing that? Because they are trying to create an enemy! It's the evil profiteers in the insurance industry!!! That tactic is directly from the pages of Saul Alinsky!

Also note how the Dems are calling the Americans that show up at these Townhall meetings "angry mobs"? I guess when members of the Minutemen were shouted down and physically assualted at schools and universities across the country those people doing the shouting were patriots? The head Community Activist in Chief is getting a taste of his own medicine and now all the activists organizing against him are "astroturf" activists!?! Are you not seeing this for what it really is drones?

Notice how Barbara Boxer said that these people were not "normal Americans" because they were "dressed to nicely"?! Just a wee bit condesending don't you think?

Now the WH is asking Obama supporters to foward any e-mails that they receive about health care that look "fishy"? Now asking neighbor to turn in neighbor!! This shit is insane!!

Dems are accusing K Street lobbyists of drumming up people to go to the townhall meetings. They claim that they are not true grass roots supporters. No, they are "astroturf" supporters according to Axlerod! So now that the Dems have been challenged to start naming names of these lobbyists and "astroturf" supporters they have gone silent! Nothing!

We are witnessing the implosion of not just the presidency, but of the Democrat Party because they threw their hat into the ring with the hard left of their party. Now they are about to pay, and pay dearly.

Wake up folks! This guy is an idiot. Obama will cost the Democrat Party dearly, and I have said that exact thing for months now. I said it well before the election. It's starting and they are scared, and they should be, because they are going to loose so many seats in congress it will make 1994 look like a tea party!

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid and you Dems think that you're going to hold congress? Really? I anxiously await the time in the not-so-distant future when I can say once again, I told you so.

Riffy

PS-Oh yeah I almost forgot. Jobs numbers come out today. Word is we are now at 9.6% unemployment! Yippee! "If we don't get this stimulus package passed, and passed right now, we could see an unemployment rate of 8%!" Thanks Barry!!!!

"President George W. Bush told French President Jacques Chirac in early 2003 that Iraq must be invaded to thwart Gog and Magog, the Bible’s satanic agents of the Apocalypse."

So says former president of France, Jacques Chirac.  This has been reported and discussed in France in multiple publications, according to James Haught.

I'm trying to say that many interpretations of the teachings of Jesus Christ are damaging to our society. The Bible is full of violence and inhumane social direction. Slaves, stoning, and death to those that don't believe in God. Same with the Koran, and we have all seen how crazy those believers get. And for what? So someone can save their own soul?

In no way am I implying that you or any others here follow the nasty scripture parts. I have no idea how closely you interpret the text. But in general, religion teaches intolerance of "the other ones".

I don't know if Chirac is telling the truth or not. It did strike a chord with me, and it's yet another story of us versus them.

It's easy for anybody to say sorry, but I truly am sorry to offend on this topic.
It needs to be discussed in all societies. Points of view need to be expressed.

Give us a break funman! You have made it more than abundantly clear that you hold Christianity in contempt! You have labeled those that follow Christ's teachings as mindless idiots. You then make the absurd claim that Christians are somehow more, or at least equally, as prone to violence as, oh say, Muslims. You are making up your own little fantasy world of angry rabid right wing redneck Jesus freaks, and trying to sell this land of make believe to everyone here. You're full of it! The only place that this hardcore dangerous brand of Christianity is happening is in your own deluded brain.

Hey hey hey - everyone calm down.

The War is over:

Washington Times:

It's official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a "war on terrorism." Neither is it fighting "jihadists" or in a "global war."

President Obama's top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.

I was taught (in Catholic school no less) to view the Bible as literature; not to be interpreted verbatim. I have studied scripture a bit.
The violence and inhumane social direction is pretty much Old Testament stuff.
The teachings of Jesus in the New Testament are fairly straightforwarded.

Do unto others as you would have done onto yourself.
Love God as you love yourself.

Jesus was a pretty peaceful dude. Very forgiving guy. Fairly mellow.

People do crazy things for all kinds of reasons.
That will never change.

Kindly do not lump all of us into one category for there has been much good done in the name of Jesus.

LJ.

PS. I still maintain what I have maintained from Primary Season. Barack Obama is an inexperienced Fraud.
