So now we are starting to figure out why the Dems dropped a 300+ page amendment on to the insane cap and trade bill at 3AM the day the bill was up for vote. They had to buy a few votes. I mean why should anyone give a damn about the fact that the federal government is acting well beyond the parameters of the US Constitution? Only some ankle biting Republicans are going to bitch about something so trivial, right?

So if Pelosi promised some pol from Ohio 3.5 billion dollars in taxpayers dollars why should we complain?!

Pathetic. Anyone here on the Obummer Team care to defend this kind of political horseshit? We didn't get a chance to see where the tax dollars are spent from hard working Americans, so Pelosi decided for us. She gives away 3.5 billion dollars in tax payers monies just so she can pass a vote that would cost tax payers hundreds of billions because of the contents of said bill. Democrats-always caring for the little guy!

WASHINGTON -- Spending by lawmakers on taxpayer-financed trips abroad has risen sharply in recent years, a Wall Street Journal analysis of travel records shows, involving everything from war-zone visits to trips to exotic spots such as the Galápagos Islands.

The spending on overseas travel is up almost tenfold since 1995, and has nearly tripled since 2001, according to the Journal analysis of 60,000 travel records. Hundreds of lawmakers traveled overseas in 2008 at a cost of about $13 million. That's a 50% jump since Democrats took control of Congress two years ago.

Sounds like most anti administration posters here are still looking at their own short term situations.

And to Glencar's point, I would say that giving to losers (your term) is a small percentage of social services.
Probably no larger than the amount of people who don't need any help, but sign up and take it anyway . . .
Social security fraud, Medicare fraud, etc. It would be great if we could seriously crack down on these abuses.

We're still putting teenagers in prison for selling pot to their friends. More wasted money and lives.

Conservatives are jumping up and down over a report by an EPA analyst expressing skepticism about climate change, which, they claim, was suppressed by agency brass because it didn't conform to Obama administration orthodoxy on global warming. The story has sparked explosive claims, on FOX News and other right-wing outlets, that the EPA censored scientific data for political reasons. And Monday, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) called for an outright criminal investigation into the matter.

But it's hard to blame EPA for not paying much attention to the study. And it's more than a little ironic that DC Republicans have chosen its author as their new standard-bearer in the defense of pure science against politics. Because the author, EPA veteran Al Carlin, is an economist, not a climate scientist.

Actually fuman, things in the financial service industry are far from fine.

Despite the bailout of a number of our largest investment banks, despite nearly a triliion dollars of "stimulus" money being managed by Joe "what's the number of the website" Biden, banks continue to fail, people are losing their jobs, real estate value has dropped, and credit markets remain jammed. The "anti Administration" types are not simply venting based on there own interests, we are repeating what we have said all along: Overtaxing the producers in this country to fund bloated and mismanaged federal entitlement programs that already make up a majority of federal tax dollar spending will do nothing to improve the economy. Disincentivizing business through taxation, whether in federal tax or through hidden taxes in the form of regulation, do not help the economy.

This Administration is all sho and no go.
All hat and no cattle.
And people are starting to see it.

How do we fix it?
We manipulate the media, of course...

I can't recall, I seem to think that his background was in politics as the VP, politics as a Senator, politics as a Senator's son,...

The point is, what was Carlin's role and why suppress his report?
This guy at least works in the agency that has a role in the decision whether to pursue certain climate legislation, and if so, what legislation. It just looks very untransparent from an Administration that says it is so transparent and lofty. They should investigate it - if someone in the agency knowingly suppressed relevant information on the issue of climate change during the consideration and advocacy of legislation directed to the issue, that would be devastating to the Administration's credibility.
