i hate stories about corrupt police... makes all the scumbags out there feel vindicated... the war on drugs, is the dumbest thing ever, it has created an industry around drugs both legal and illegal that is killing so many, and puts good cops at risk, and give bad ones an income.

Let's review what the Democrats in the House just passed shall we?

With the passage of the cap and trade (Tax and Kill) bill they have just voted to raise energy taxes across the board.

That means that the price of EVERYTHING is going to go up, and not just a little either! The average household would see their cost of electricity and natural gas to rise by an avaerage of over 1000 dollars per household!! Not to mention the cost of food which will go up as the tranportation industry will pass their costs directly on to US the consumers.

This bill will bring about an estimated 2.5 million in job losses per year! Who makes this claim? Republicans? No! In fact this an estimate from the the Congressional Black Budgetary Commitee! What a bunch of rich white conservative Jesus freaks, huh?!

Are any of you people listening? Wake up! Instead of just slamming "big, evil, greedy corporations" and "fat cat" Republicans why not read the damned bill that is would destroy our way of life, and the lives of our children for decades to come.

At 3AM the day of the vote, this past Friday, Nancy Pelosi slipped a 300 page amendment to the bill. So much for giving the "American people a full 24 hours to review the bills for vote on the internet"! It includes the mandate of requiring all buildings nationwide to adopt the California builing codes! Every single municipal building, every housing association, every single tiny little township will be forced to pay hundreds of billions in renovations, and retrofitting!! Who do you think is going to pay for that?!

This is wealth redistribution writ large, and for those of you not paying attention, or too busy playing partisan politics, this is going to hit you right in the neck!!

The silver lining is that the Democrats in the House just signed their own death sentence for 2010. I just hope that the next Republican Speaker takes the gavel from Pelosi's boney hands and smacks her right in the face with it!

So of the 435 members of the House the Democrats managed to wrestle a full 8 Republicans! Yeah, I guess you're right that is the very definition of bi-partisanship in the age of Obama.

Those are 8 Republicans that may well now loose their seats by sliting the throats of thier own constituents. Good riddence to bad rubbish.

Obama-backed plan volunteers Americans to pay global taxes

Wednesday, June 24, 2009
By Cliff Kincaid, Accuracy in Media
Worldtribune.com

The United Nations is proceeding, with President Obama’s acquiescence, to implement a global plan to create a new international socialist order financed by global taxes on the American people.

The Conference on the World Financial and Economic Crisis and its Impact on Development that begins today will consider adoption of a document calling for “new voluntary and innovative sources of financing initiatives to provide additional stable sources of development finance...” This is U.N.-speak for global taxes. They are anything but “voluntary” for the people forced to pay them.

The most “popular” proposals, which could generate tens of billions of dollars in revenue for global purposes, involve taxes on greenhouse gas emissions and financial transactions such as stock trades.

The document was agreed to at an informal meeting of expert “facilitators” and was made available on June 22 at 3 p.m. It is doubtful that any changes will be made to it.

The conference was postponed from June 1-3 to June 24-26 at the U.N. in New York. While the “outcome document” has been watered down somewhat from the previous version, it still reaffirms attainment of the U.N.’s Millennium Development Goals, which would require the payment of $845 billion from U.S. taxpayers. A commitment to the MDGs was a stated objective of the Global Poverty Act, which Barack Obama had introduced as a U.S. senator. It requires the U.S. to devote 0.7 percent of Gross National Income to foreign aid.

Now, as President, Obama can bypass the Congress and simply direct his Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice to approve the U.N. conference document. Then the pressure will be increased on Congress to come up with the money and satisfy our “international commitments.”

This is the pattern that he followed in regard to more money for the International Monetary Fund (IMF). After agreeing at the G-20 summit to provide more money for the IMF, the Obama White House slipped the cash and credit into the recently passed emergency war funding bill. The Obama White House had added billions in cash, as well as a $100 billion line of credit, for the IMF.

Rep. Mike Pence commented, “This legislation, which includes $108 billion in loan authorizations for a global bailout, for the International Monetary Fund — at a time when this government has run up a $2 trillion annual deficit — I believe does a disservice to taxpayers and to those that defend us. Passing a $108 billion global bailout on the backs of our soldiers is just not right.”

The U.N. conference document explains where all of this is leading — the destruction of the American dollar as the world’s reserve currency and the build-up of global institutions such as the IMF and the U.N.

It declares that “We acknowledge the calls by many states for further study of the feasibility and advisability of a more efficient reserve system, including the possible function of SDRs in any such system and the complementary roles that could be played by various regional arrangements.” SDRs are Special Drawing Rights, a form of international currency that enables global institutions like the International Monetary Fund to provide more foreign aid to the rest of the world. The U.S. pays for SDRs through its financial contributions to the IMF.

If implemented, the document would officially mark the end of the United States as the world’s leading economic power.

Urging socialism as the solution to the crisis, the document states that “Insufficient emphasis on equitable human development has contributed to significant inequalities among countries and peoples. Other weaknesses of a systemic nature also contributed to the unfolding crisis, which has demonstrated the need for more effective government involvement to ensure an appropriate balance between the market and public interest.”

The nerve center of this emerging new international socialist system will be the United Nations, a body that has developed a reputation for corruption and incompetence and whose “peacekeepers” have been implicated in sexual abuse and other human rights violations.

“The United Nations, on the basis of its universal membership and legitimacy, is well positioned to participate in various reform processes aimed at improving and strengthening the effective functioning of the international financial system and architecture,” the document says.

“This United Nations Conference is part of our collective effort towards recovery,” it adds.

The Obama Administration’s unofficial point man in U.N. deliberations has been economist Joseph Stiglitz, who has been coordinating a “Commission of Experts” that has reported to U.N. General Assembly President Miguel D’Escoto, the notorious Communist Catholic Priest who received the Lenin Peace Prize from the old Soviet Union.

Stiglitz produced his own document which called for “the issuance of additional SDRs,” “additional sources of funding” for global institutions, a new global reserve currency, and a new global credit facility. Key recommendations have been incorporated into the official U.N. conference document but Stiglitz and his “experts” provide far more details about them.

In terms of new funding sources, the document calls for “innovative sources of financing such as emission rights trading and financial transactions taxes…” The concept of “emissions trading” enables corporations to avoid limits on greenhouse gas emissions if they pay taxes to government. It is part of the “cap and trade” legislation now being pushed on Capitol Hill.

Chapter Five of this document, “International Financial Innovations,” goes into detail, declaring that “For some time, the difficulty in meeting the UN official assistance target of 0.7 percent of Gross National Income of developed industrial countries as official development assistance, as well as the need for adequate funding for the provision of global and regional public goods (peace building, fighting global health pandemics, combating climate change and sustaining the global environment more generally) has generated proposals on how to guarantee a more reliable and stable source of financing for these objectives.”

The document notes that an international airline ticket tax is now in effect, as a result of the actions of the “Leading Group on Solidarity Levies” that now involves close to 60 countries and major international organizations. This money is going to fight global diseases.

The term “Solidarity Levies” is U.N.-speak for global taxes.

The Stiglitz document explains, “Some of the initiatives that have been proposed encompass ‘solidarity levies’ or, more generally, taxation for global objectives. Some countries have already decreed solidarity levies on airline tickets but there is a larger set of proposals. There have also been suggestions to auction global natural resources — such as ocean fishing rights and pollution emission permits — for global environmental programs.”

It goes on to say, “The suggestion of taxes that could be earmarked for global objectives has a long history. To avert their being perceived as encroachments on participating countries’ fiscal sovereignty, it has been agreed that these taxes should be nationally imposed, but internationally coordinated.”

So the nations of the world, including the U.S., will collect the taxes but then turn them over to institutions such as the U.N. The world body will function, in effect, like a global IRS.

Is it too much to ask that our media take some time off from talking about the girl with star tattoos on her face, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” and Perez Hilton, to examine what is going on at the United Nations?

Ahem...., can you say wealth redistribution? It's like not Barry didn't say right up front that he wanted to implement a Global Poverty Act. What do you think he meant by that?

Thanks for the article TTM. Scary stuff going on here and the media has it's throat so full of Barry's cock that they can't bother to report on it.

Weird, though Obama will probably be re-elected, it won't be anywhere near the same margin. Out of the millions of people who turned out in droves to vote their frustrations and for a vague notion of "change" will probably still be frustrated in 2012. These are also the types of people who don't vote in mid-terms.

My district used to be represented by a Republican in Congress until that Republican took a leading role in trying to invalidate the election of a President who was very popular here. Bye bye, after the most expensive congressional race in history, we are now solidly Democrat.

I'm telling you right here and now that if this bill passes the Senate that those 8 Republican House members are going to rue the day that they voted yes for this crap bill. This is going to cost all of us thousands of dollars anually, and anyone seen supporting a larger federal governement at the expense of the taxpayer is going to get hammered in 2010. As far as I'm concerned I'm glad those 8 morons voted in favor of the government over the people. Now we know who they are and they will loose in any primaries.

I must confess that I got the name wrong. I was posting from memory and I screwed up. It's was not any congressional body. It was the Black Chamber Of Commerce Association of America. A body, by the way, that supported Barack Obama throughout the primary right through to his election. They are about to pay huge debt for that support. As are coal miners, truckers, farmers, blue collar plant workers, union members of all stripes (except federal unions mind you), and the rest of us. We will all pay, and pay dearly, if this insane bill gets approved in the Senate. The details are way way way out of the mainstream, and nothing more(or less) than a huge federal power grab and they are about as un-American as you can get. This bill mandate a federal water tester for every city, town, and magistrate in the country! Trampling state's rights! Not only a water tester, but a federal zoning inspector! The insanity of this bill is staggering.

They are doing exactly what Thomas Jefferson warned us about. They gathering all power to the federal government. Does that not strike you as wholly un-American? Because it is!

I think that it is high time for people to really remember, and understand this quote.

"When all government...in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided...” Thomas Jefferson

For those of you can not understand,or refuse to see what is happening before your very eyes you will get exactly what you deserve, but for those of you that supported Obama and are starting to get a sense of dread, for you there is hope. Real hope. Not this wealth redistribution and destruction of our way of life crap that we've been fed thus far.

Read the bill. Understand the bill.

WASHINGTON – The Obama White House left open the possibility Sunday that the president would break a campaign promise and raise taxes on people earning less than $250,000 to support his health care overhaul agenda.

White House adviser David Axelrod said the administration wouldn't rule out taxing some employees' benefits to fund a health care agenda that has yet to take final form. The move would be a compromise with fellow Democrats, who are pushing the proposal as a way to pay for the massive undertaking without ballooning the federal deficit.

-----------------

Read his lips, no middle class taxes.
Another promise bites the dust!

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Bush.

This is Obama's health care plan, not Bush's.
Bush did not believe in a federal, socialist, nationalized medical system.
This is 100% Obama's baby, and he can't afford his absurd plan, and so now he is flip-flopping once again and funding it by taxing the middle class.  Precisely what he said he would not do.

Ha fucking Ha!

What's that, oh sure, here you go.
That "toothy" UN Resolution just keeps on keepin' on....

WASHINGTON – The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations says the U.S. is keeping close tabs on a suspected North Korea arms ship.

An American destroyer has been tracking the North Korean freighter sailing off China's coast, possibly on its way to Myanmar.

Ambassador Susan Rice says the U.S. is pursuing and following the ship's progress closely. But she is not saying what the U.S. actually might do on the high seas — such as whether to contact and request inspection

Bam! Well there you go funman! How are you going to argue that? Only the most brainwashed amongst us believe in the hype about human causation. The evidence is pouring in that the solar cycle is what accounts for 99.99999.....% of all climatic change.

Another thing about you that I find absurdly hilarious is that you will point out that the other side is exaggerating their claims - and then go over the top with the most ridiculous exaggerations imaginable.

For example, the section of your post which I've included above.

If I was a betting man, I would wager that not even your like-minded cohorts Messrs. Nankerphelge and Glencar  believes what you said there.

In fact, most of the problems we face are a bit more nuanced than your shrill worldview allows.

Here are some polls which call your figures into doubt:

Despite conflicting messages on global warming, the majority of Americans believe in the phenomenon, see it as an environmental threat and want to do something about it. However, they might not be totally sure how to do that.

That's according to a national poll released this week by Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.  The survey showed that about 80 percent of those interviewed were completely or mostly convinced global warming was occurring today. Only 17.5 percent said they weren't very convinced or not convinced at all.

Meanwhile, 94 percent of survey respondents were very or somewhat willing to change their lifestyles to reduce the impact of climate change. But poll participants seem unsure of exactly how deeply their way of life is affecting the environment.

"[Global warming] is a big topic of conversation and a big source of confusion," he said. "There's a lot of different messages that add to that sense of confusion."

Other findings from the Sacred Heart Survey: 61.9 percent of those surveyed said they believed that global warming was due to a combination of human activity as well as natural cycling. Only 20.1 percent believed it was entirely due to human activity and even less -- 12.6 percent -- thought it was totally caused by natural cycling 94 percent said they were very or somewhat willing to change their own lifestyle to reduce the impact of climate change and 95.1 believed there were things they could be doing to use energy more wisely 68.6 expressed a willingness to pay higher prices for "green" energy sources or items like electric cars to reduce the effect of global warming.

When it comes to the climate change, the old saying “Wake up and smell the coffee” applies.

Most Floridians, and Americans, have opened their eyes, taken a good whiff and understand the importance of reducing the man-made greenhouse gases that are causing global warming.

That was shown in a 2007 Mason-Dixon poll, when 71 percent of Florida residents called the problem critical and wanted anti-warming measures in place, with support across party lines.

A new poll by the Pew Environmental Group shows the same thing nationally, with 77 percent calling for action.

April 22, 2009 -

Another example that reveals that public knowledge of the concept of global warming is not the same thing as public belief that global warming is a result of human activities is in the U.S. Despite the fact that the U.S. ranks third in overall awareness of global warming -- at 97% -- only 49% of this 97% say they think rising temperatures are a result of human activities.

Speaking from Prague, Czech Republic,  pollster John Zogby said 55 percent of the 1,001 Catholics polled between March 30 and April 14 believed global warming and climate change were serious problems. The poll found that 60 percent of respondents felt that climate change must be addressed immediately even if not everything is known about it.

The margin of error for the poll was plus or minus 3.2 percent.

Public Votes "Yes" on Waxman-Markey
Posted by Anna Fahey
06/25/2009 04:20 PM

Polls show Americans across party lines favor climate legislation.

As the House of Representatives fine tunes legislation like the American Clean Energy and Security Act, public opinion weighs far less than other pressures. But as our elected officials make perhaps the biggest decision of their careers about the biggest, most sweeping climate and energy legislation ever, it’s worth noting that the American public is calling for "yes" votes – and that’s across party lines.

Washington Post and ABC took the nation’s pulse on this issue last week and here’s what they found:

Three-quarters of Americans think the federal government should regulate the release into the atmosphere of greenhouse gases from power plants, cars and factories to reduce global warming, with substantial majority support from Democrats, Republicans and independents alike.

52 percent support a cap-and-trade approach to limiting greenhouse gas emissions. (Forty-two percent of those surveyed this month oppose such a program.)

62 percent of those surveyed said they would support regulation even if it raised the price of purchases and 56 percent would back cap and trade if it resulted in a $10 increase in utility costs, 44 percent said they would back a cap-and-trade system if it boosted monthly electricity bills by $25.

Despite nay saying about costs to households and negative economic effects of a cap and trade system, 60 percent of Republicans back a cap-and-trade program.

Six in 10 Americans favor US action, even if other countries do less to confront climate change.
So, in a nutshell, Americans from both parties favor action. A solid majority is ready for cap and trade (including a sizable majority of Republicans -- 60 percent). We are willing to pay a bit more for energy to make this happen. We're no longer content to use India and China as scapegoats for our own foot dragging. (According to the Post, while partisan divides are dwindling, age matters in voters' position on cap and trade and, understandably, income matters when it comes to the question of cost).
