I don't need to go to Iraq to know that the country is far better off than it was under Saddam.

The tens of thousands (a conservative estimate) of Iraqis we accidentally killed along the way might disagree.
The tens of thousands more who were killed during the civil war we facilitated might disagree also.
The Americans who signed up for military service because of the non-existent WMDs and the fictional al Qeda connection, but who instead got killed or crippled so that Iraq could be "far better off", or got killed in the crossfire during the afore-mentioned civil war, might harbor some hidden resentment.
Some might say (to use a favored Fox News equivocation) that blowing the place up and taking six years to do a half-assed job of rebuilding it is nothing to brag about.

But THIS kid did get some free candy, so yeah, you're right.
