WASHINGTON -- Attorney General Eric Holder says the United States will not release anyone considered a terrorist into the country.

Holder was testifying Thursday at a Senate hearing. He faced questions from lawmakers about his plans for closing the Guantanamo Bay detention center by January 2010.

The attorney general has told Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., that anyone believed to be a terrorist would not be set free. But he also said some of the Guantanamo Bay detainees will be released, indicating the Obama administration believes some of those held there are not terrorists.

Holder assured Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., that he would notify local officials if the government decides to release some detainees into the U.S.

The Obama administration today unveiled details of a $3.4 trillion federal budget for the fiscal year beginning in October, a proposal that includes substantial increases for a number of domestic priorities as well as a plan to trim or eliminate 121 programs at a savings of $17 billion.

In a statement delivered at the White House after the budget details were released, President Obama defended the cuts from critics on both sides -- those he said would fight to preserve the targeted programs and others who consider the reductions insignificant.

"We can no longer afford to spend as if deficits don't matter and waste is not our problem," he said. "We can no longer afford to leave the hard choices for the next budget, the next administration -- or the next generation."

So it's pretty clear that Obama is the one who is a "terrible judge of character", or worse yet, he actually believes in what all these insane associations represent.

And you voted for this man knowing about all these radical ties. No, I'm a perfectly fine judge of character. You on the other hand believe 100% in the media created smiling nice guy image of the most radcial president that this nation has ever been stupid enough to elect. The media did it's job! The drones just lined up and fell in line with the whole cult of personality that is now on the verge of bankrupting this nation for generations to come.

I'm a terrible judge of character? Your kidding right?

Yeah, the only problem with that Bucky would be that the moderator over there would ban me outright. I'm sure that he has not forgotten about how I slammed his tribe of liberal idiots over there on this board. I think I'd have a very tough time being civil when surrounded by some of the brain dead inbreds that post over there. I'm sure that there are some cool people over there, but it was my experience that if you did not march in lock step with the drone-like masses then you quickly got targeted as a hated conservative heretic.

Funny how liberals love to pretend that they represent diversity, but when it comes to varying opinions on politics all bets are off. Just look at the way that are trying to destroy that Miss California chick! Crazy! It's almost as if the liberal morons are fully unaware that her view on gay marriage is in keeping with the majority of Americans.

Tell everyone over "there" that I said they are all a bunch Obama blowing morons. TIA!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama proposed on Thursday nearly doubling funds to enforce U.S. tax laws next year, with an aim of more than quadrupling funding for tax compliance to $2.1 billion within five years.

The budget plan seeks $12.1 billion for the Internal Revenue Service, responsible for collecting and enforcing individual and corporate tax laws, for fiscal 2010, which begins October 1. That amounts to a roughly 5.2 percent increase over the IRS budget for 2009, which was $11.5 billion.

The budget proposal, which must be approved by Congress, includes a $890 million request to boost tax enforcement, including in the international arena, an increase of $400 million from 2009.

Hell, no need to do all that.

Obama's flawed auto logic

President Barack Obama insists he doesn't want to run the domestic auto industry -- and we should all be thankful for that.

But his actions speak differently -- and we should all be worried.

"... I rejected the original restructuring plan" that Chrysler LLC submitted for government loans, he said April 30 in announcing his decision to force Chrysler into bankruptcy. "... And the standard I set was high -- I challenged them to design a plan ..."

That's a lot of self promotion and involvement from a guy who doesn't want to control the companies.

To be sure, the government, with the investment of $4 billion in our tax dollars in Chrysler and $15.4 billion in General Motors Corp. needs to set guidelines and rules for repayment. If not met, call the loans and get our money back.

But forcing a private American company into bankruptcy because the president thinks it's the most prudent action. Um, no. Not by any measure.

Blaming the hedge funds
The president found a scapegoat in the hedge funds that balked at the government's "offer" to take pennies on the dollar for their secured investment

"... It was unacceptable to let a small group of speculators endanger Chrysler's future by refusing to sacrifice like everyone else," he said.

Pardon me while I puke.

Chrysler's secured lenders held about $6.9 billion in debt and a couple didn't want to take significantly less than what they were owed. The lenders that opposed hold less than 10 percent of that debt.

You mean to tell me that the president, who has authorized more than $19 billion in cash to the auto companies, with much of it likely never to be repaid, was willing to force Chrysler into bankruptcy over less than a billion bucks?

When you're doling out dump trucks full of cash, another Ram pickup full doesn't break the government's back.

Too much auto ignorance
Make no mistake: The president had this outcome in mind all along. He'll force that action on GM, too.

All the while bashing Detroit for not being Toyota.

"I don't know how to create an affordable, well-designed plug-in hybrid. But I know that, if the Japanese can design an affordable, well-designed hybrid, then, doggone it, the American people should be able to do the same," he said during his 100-days-in-office speech. "So my job is to ask the auto industry: Why is it you guys can't do this?"

Seriously? GM is building the Volt. The Ford Fusion hybrid will get top mileage numbers. It's about time Obama starts looking past the nonsense he's being fed by Californians in Congress. Certainly, the domestic industry needs to do more and it didn't adapt fast enough.

But to suggest that less than a billion bucks forced Chrysler into court or that these companies aren't in the same league as the Japanese shows that the auto ignorance in Washington rolls on.

Don't read them?
Or can't read them?

Personally, I don't care if you read 'em or not.

I find it entertaining to point out the stupidity, double standards, and gaffes of this Administration.

Especially given the blind faith of those that voted for Obama and are now seeing what an idiot the guy really is!

I realize that many of the libs, leftists and the one blithering idiot here that support the man will never admit how bad is he is.

Point out to whom?

psst, now would be a good time to cut and paste an article clearly implying W's failure, and try to apply it to Obama.

Entertaining to myself.

Thought that was pretty obvious, but whatever...

What's that?

Oh sure, here ya go...

CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan — Thousands of U.S. troops are being rushed to Afghanistan without the equipment they will need to fight an emboldened Taliban, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and military officials said Thursday.

The equipment delay is "a considerable concern," Gates said as he toured a dusty forward base in south Afghanistan where some 200 newly deployed Marines and sailors are arriving each day as part of the buildup of 21,000 new U.S. troops.

"I heard this on several occasions today, that the equipment is coming in behind the troops and is not here and available for them when they arrive," Gates said at a news conference Thursday night in Kabul before a fly-around through bases in Afghanistan.

Gates attributed the delays to "the amount of equipment that has to be brought in and, frankly, the relatively limited infrastructure in terms of airfields and so on of how to get it in here."

Despite concerns about pressing U.S. military needs in Iraq and insurgents' interference with supply lines, the real problem has been "more a logistical challenge than it is anything else," Gates said. He promised to pursue the problem after he returns to Washington on Saturday.

The scope of the equipment shortage was not immediately clear. One Marine corporal at Camp Leatherneck told Gates during a 15-minute town hall meeting in sweltering heat Thursday that he needed more communications equipment.

The Pentagon has already been grappling with how to beef up mine-resistant patrol trucks that have shown success in Iraq but are not resilient enough to withstand Afghanistan's hilly and rugged terrain.

The equipment shortage leaves U.S. troops vulnerable at a time when the Taliban and other extremist groups are ramping up attacks as the Afghanistan national elections approach.

In a chilling reminder of the risks American troops face, Gates noted that casualties among American, Afghanistan and other international security forces are up 75 percent since the beginning of the year.

Nanky it's pretty funny, huh?

They ignored this moron's radical associations prior to voting for him, and they accused us of being wrong.

The moron gets into the WH and does exactly what most rational people feared he would do. He has nationalized the banking industry. He has nationalized the mortgage industry. He has nationalized the auto industry. He has handed out political "pay backs" to the UAW. He has at the same time ridiculed the investment firms and hedge fund operators who propped up Chrysler with loans. He called them "petty, greedy, etc..." why? Because they insisted that the legally binding contract that they signed be honored!!! This fuckstick is changing Constitutional Law for the sole reason of paying back his political contributors. He is changing contractual law to accommodate his political friends in the most disgusting way imaginable! And the Obamadrones accuse us of being wrong!

Now this moron is going to single handily destroy the greatest health care system in the world, and the Obamadrones accuse us of being wrong!

This man is without a single solitary doubt the worst president that this nation as ever been stupid enough to elect, and the Obamadrone idiots can't bring themselves to see him for exactly what he is.

Trillions upon trillions in debt, and he still wants more, and the Drones? Not a single fucking word about the dangerous irresponsible pissing away of our money and our liberty to an ever expanding federal government.

Hence they are Obamadrones! Or as my father would call them, "Tits on a bull, useless".

Sure is too bad someone made the policy decision to leave Afganistan without finishing the job. Shifting troops and equipment Iraq for an expensive, elective, war. . .who would do such a thing? That's right it must have been Obama's plan back in 2003. . .dude plans everything bad!

Gee, that sounds familiar.
