Riffy,
I occasionally represent clients who subscribe to what may be charitably described as unusual legal theories. Some of them believe, for example, that they can make themselves immune to the criminal law by designating themselves as "secured party creditors" and incorporating their legal names, thus preventing prosecutors from placing their names on charging instruments. These clients, for some reason, are not swayed by my argument that, if their theory were valid, attorneys for powerful criminals like John Gotti or Martha Stewart would have used it to keep their clients out of prison. Similarly, I suspect that you will not be daunted by the suggestion that you just might not be so much smarter or better informed than Warren Buffett and Colin Powell that you have uncovered this hidden Obama. Mr. Levin and his mentors, Limbaugh and Hannity, are self-evidently not as smart as Buffett or Powell. So forgive me if I see you as well-meaning (I'll give you that) but embarrassingly delusional.
With all due respect BJ I reject your contention that Warren Buffet or Colin Powell is "self-evidently" smarter than Mark Levin. I don't see how you can even try and claim that in fact. Warren Buffet is a very rich man big deal. Colin Powell has never struck me as the most intelligent man in the room either frankly. Not that he's dumb, but there is certainly no evidence that he is smarter than Mark Levin.
Levin is considered by his peers to be one of the top legal minds in the country when it comes to Constitutional Law. He was the Chief of Staff for Edwin Meese in the Reagan Administration, and founded the Landmark Legal Foundation as well. He is a best selling author two times over. He also is the host of the fastest growing talk radio program in the nation. So any bones of contention that you may have with his intellect is founded on nothing but a partisan bias on your part. The guy is flat out smart, and I'd put his legal mind well above those of Buffet's or Powell's any day of the week.
The pretentious crap about "well-meaning, but embarrassingly delusional" is a pure crap patronizing argument as well. I'm no lawyer, but it doesn't take a lawyer to figure out what Obama is all about. He didn't ever try and hide until he decided to run for public office. (Remember Alinsky's teachings here about fooling and infiltrating them "fitting in")
Let's go over the
known facts about the man.
His father, who left him in childhood still played a huge roll in his worldview as he points out with great clarity in Dreams of My Father. His father was also an avowed socialist with strong leanings towards Marxism, and it could be argued, Stalinism.
He went to Harvard and immediately became part of at least two socialist organizations on campus that he has spoken about publicly (no longer obviously). It was also in Harvard that he delved deeply into the teaching of Saul Alinsky the radical socialist/Marxist. He was nose deep in Reveille For Radicals and Rules For Radicals before he ever stepped foot onto Harvard's campus. From there he became a member of The Saul Alinsky Action Group. He taught many students the teachings of Alinsky, and continue to do so when he became a community organizer. It's no coincidence that Saul Alinsky too was a community organizer.
He, even back in his Harvard days, hung out almost exclusively with students and faculty that were decidedly leftist in their own worldview.
After Harvard Barrack immediately pursued a career in local politics. He, at this time, befriended William Ayers and started his political career in the living room of Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorn. This was a fundraiser that launched his run for a state senate seat in Illinois. He, btw, blatantly lied about this in the last debate.
It was also at this time that Barrack started attending Trinity. Reverend Wright became a part of his circle of leftist friends, and Obama soaked up Black Liberation Theology (socialism) with fervor. He attended this church for over twenty years, and also was introduced to another socialist named Father Micheal Phleger. Barrack had his kids baptized by Reverand Wright, and only quit (I could no longer disown him then I could my own typical white grandmother) when Wright became a political liability.
In 1995 Obama penned his first of two books. Dreams of My Father. This book is steeped in socialism and is also loaded with heavy doses of Alinsky's teachings on the tenets of activism within the confinds of a socialist viewpoint.
I could go and on, and there is not one damned thing that is "secret" about who Obama
really is. The media have done their best to keep these facts about Obama hidden, but they are readily available to anyone that takes 30 seconds of their time to do a google search. I did considerably more than that. I read. I read voraciously in fact. I read the man's own words, and the word's of his friends and associates.
You don't have to a genius on the level of Mark Levin, or even of Buffett or Powell to see the common thread in Obama's life. He's a socialist with heavy doses of Marxism thrown in for good measure.
I mean all you have to do is go back to his now infamous line to Joe the Plumber,"I want to spread the wealth around."
Not to mention his wife's own lunatic ravings!
What to make of Michelle Obama's use the terms, "The world as it is" and "The world as it should be?" From whence do they originate? Try Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky's book, Rules for Radicals.
"Barack stood up that day," talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, "and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about "The world as it is" and "The world as it should be..."
And, "All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won't do - that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be."
Here's an excerpt from Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky's book, Rules for Radicals:
"The means-and-ends moralists, constantly obsessed with the ethics of the means used by the Have-Nots against the Haves, should search themselves as to their real political position. In fact, they are passive -- but real -- allies of the Haves...The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means... The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be."
Yeah, I know damned good and well what Barry is all about. Too bad so many have been duped. That, of course, is exactly what he has been hoping for all along. Anyone with even a hint of doubt about that hasn't been reading or listening to what he has said for years now.
