Ok, this will upset even the most forgiving Obama supporter, but here it is.

That's right. Not only is our President shaking hands with the President of Mexico's dog, but he appears to be bowing too.

HILARIOUS!

LOL! MM I am so sorry. I certainly did not mean to include you on that short list of douchebags. I was really referring to the other idiot, and the idiot that called me, and everyone like me, a Nazi and then ran off with his panties in a twist. You have always been fair to me, and you have not shown any douchebag tendencies that I can tell. Sorry for lumping you in with the other obvious douchebags.

powerful yet quaint 19th century philosophy. paradoxically it was lincolns presidency that ushered in the modern era, he vastly increased the role of government from war powers to the creation of the income tax and national banks. it would be great to turn back the clock to a simpler perhaps nobler more individualistic era but in a world with explosive population growth, dwindling natural resources global market forces will make this difficult.

These words are often attributed to Abraham Lincoln, but according to the book They Never Said it: A Book of Fake Quotes, Misquotes, & Misleading Attributions, they are not from Lincoln.

The quotes were published in 1942 by William J. H. Boetcker, a Presbyterian minister. He released a pamphlet titled Lincoln On Limitations, which did include a Lincoln quote, but also added 10 statements written by Boetcker himself.

Return of the Money Snatchers?

by Richard W. Rahn
Richard W. Rahn is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and chairman of the Institute for Global Economic Growth.
Added to cato.org on April 17, 2009

When will the next round of inflation hit, and how can we protect ourselves? Many economists and commentators, including yours truly, have warned about the potential of a new round of high inflation due to the great expansion of government spending. But does an increase in government spending necessarily translate into higher inflation? The answer is "no," but it most often does, and this is why.

An increase in government spending must be financed by increasing taxation, or increasing government borrowing, or creating more money by the central bank (the Federal Reserve), or all of the above. Increasing taxation or government borrowing does not directly increase inflation, but if the central bank creates new money faster than goods and services are increased, inflation will result.

President Obama and a majority of the Democrats have promised they will only increase taxes on the rich, which, by their current definition, includes about the top 5 percent of taxpayers who pay 60 percent of the federal income tax. The problem the Obama Democrats face is that it is precisely this group that already pays the highest tax rates (in many cases around 50 percent combined federal, state and local income taxes), and this group is both the most sensitive to tax rate changes and has the greatest ability to either legally or illegally avoid or evade paying more taxes (even by choosing not to work).

Richard W. Rahn is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and chairman of the Institute for Global Economic Growth.

Collectively, this group does not have enough income to pay for all of the new government spending, even if the government could collect it — which it can't!

The United States has been fortunate in recent years because the Chinese, Japanese and many other non-American individuals and institutions have been buying U.S. government debt and investing in U.S. businesses. This inflow of capital has not only financed the government deficits, but has provided inexpensive capital for the U.S. private sector, allowing it to grow very rapidly.

This is now changing. Because of the global recession, every significant economy, with the exception of Norway, which has a small population and lots of oil revenue, is running a government deficit. Thus, collectively, governments around the world will issue many trillions of dollars of new government bonds in the next few years.

In order to sell all of this government debt, higher interest rates will be offered to induce people to save more rather than consume and to divert their investments from corporate stocks and bonds and venture capital to government bonds.

If people save more and consume less, the demand for goods and services will grow more slowly and fewer new jobs will be created. If people invest more in government securities and less in the private sector, there will be less research-and-development spending, lower productivity growth and less business expansion and job creation.

As interest rates rise, fewer people will be able to afford new homes, and businesses will find fewer profitable investments, all of which will keep unemployment rates high. The Federal Reserve will be under tremendous political pressure to create more money — largely by buying its own government debt — which in the short run can temporarily decrease interest rates, but over the long run will cause interest rates to rise steeply as inflation comes roaring back. The Fed will then have to stomp on the monetary brakes again, which will lead to another recession. This is precisely what happened during the late 1970s and early 1980s until there was the switch in economic policy under former President Ronald Reagan.

The Obama administration is forecasting higher rates of growth, and lower inflation and unemployment than the consensus forecast (Blue Chip Economic Indicators) of private sector economists, while at the same time proposing a series of laws and regulations that, if enacted, would make it impossible to achieve its own forecasts. Specifically, the Obama Democrats are proposing (among other things):

•Massive environmental regulations and taxes, which would depress incomes for most Americans and increase business costs, both of which would depress employment.
•Costly increases in labor regulations, including card check, which would make it much more costly for employers to hire workers and, therefore, fewer workers would be hired.
•A series of truly foolish laws and Treasury regulations whose purpose is to try to get a few billion dollars in additional tax revenue from businesses and individuals who operate outside the United States, but whose real effect would put at risk trillions of dollars of foreign investment into the U.S. at a time when it is most needed. This, in turn, would cost the U.S. hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of new jobs.

Unless the Obama Democrats suddenly get religion and start applying real cost-benefit analyses to their proposals before they leap, the United States is doomed for a repeat of the late 1970s — higher taxes, higher inflation, slower growth and more unemployment — when productivity growth was less than half the level of the last decade. Individuals can partially protect themselves by buying inflation-indexed U.S. government bonds (as long as they remain available), reducing their debt loads, particularly nonfixed-interest-rate debt, diversifying their assets across the globe, and — perhaps, praying for a new Mr. Reagan.

I just have to revisit Barry Co.'s minuscule budget cut.

Here we have the worst administration in history rolling out this pathetic 100 million dollar budget cut with great fanfare yesterday! Yee haw! A whopping 100 million dollars! How generous! To put that in perspective. The federal government spends roughly 100 million dollars every 15 minutes of every day of the year.

However the real story is what Obama's left hand was doing as his right hand was stroking moronic Obamadrones with this pittance of a budget cut.

Did you drones know that at the same time the worst president in history was offering to cut 100 million in federal spending (1/35,000 of the Obama federal budget) he was also seeking 100 billion in funding for the IMF (International Monetary Fund)? Did you know that?

Yup! There's your hero drones! Playing you morons like fiddles. You love to praise this moron, but he is spending money as fast as he can. He even added his now familiar caveat that we "must act quickly" and get this money to the IMF asap.

This guy is a putz. He wants everything done "quickly" because it cuts off any and all debate. Oh, by the way, this rush tactic is pointed out by none other than Saul Alinsky in his 1971 communist manifesto Rules For Radicals. I'll say this for Barry. He's a good student. Too bad more of the idiot drones that follow him aren't wise enough to see through the facade.

You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy.
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way,
you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his
sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the
unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for
that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much.  (Matthew 5:43-47 )

Looks like Statism and Marxism isn't enough for Barry Co. Now they are delving into flat out Stalinist tactics to gather intel on their perceived enemies.

Remember the memo that was leaked concerning Janet Napolitano's idea of who the enemies of the USA were. Surely you Obamadrones remember that? You know the memo from last week that listed military vets as possible enemies of the nation? Remember now? Well it seems that average citizens that took the streets in numbers topping one million on April 15th (Tea Parties) are now also being considered possible enemies of the state.

So there you go you stupid assed gullible Obamadrones! Your messiah is now spying on American citizens that hold a different political ideology than he does! Stunning! No wonder Hugo Chavez and Barry hit it off so well! Hugo does the same exact thing to his countrymen.

Imagine if the left wing freaks had evidence that Bush was spying on La Raza rallies? Or Code Pink circle jerks? The proverbial shit would have hit the fan fast and hard. And rightly so, I might add.

Oh, and get this, according to several brave FBI agents all of this federal government spying was done, “independently and outside of the purview of local law enforcement,”

America made a massive mistake this last election, and only idiots that can't cop to their own culpability won't admit it!

Here drones. Read and learn what this power hungry madman is doing to everyday Americans!

The FBI were spying on Tea Party protesters nationwide during last week’s demonstrations as part of a covert program conducted without the knowledge of local law enforcement, according to a source named as a current FBI agent.

The Northeast Intelligence Network reports that a concerned unnamed FBI agent risked his career in blowing the whistle on the fact that Tea Party protesters were subject to covert surveillance.

The FBI agent allegedly told Doug Haggman, “The Department of Homeland Security Intelligence Assessment that is receiving so much attention is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, and the true patriotic citizens of this country are on the Titanic. This is what bothers me. But is goes far beyond that assessment. There have been very significant changes made over the last few years that redirect the focus and assets of the intelligence community internally. These changes have greatly accelerated under this administration, and the threats have been redefined to include those who used to be patriots. It’s not only chilling but absolutely insulting to God-fearing Americans.”

The source claims that a single page FBI directive was dispatched from FBI headquarters in Washington DC on March 23 requesting that Special Agents in Charge (SACs) “verify the date, time and location of each TEA Party within their region and supply that information to FBI headquarters in Washington.”

Agents were then instructed to compile information on the organizers of the different protests and also send the information back to FBI headquarters. On April 6, they were subsequently asked to conduct covert surveillance and data collection of the protesters attending the Tea Party demonstrations. Surveillance was to be performed from “discreet fixed or mobile positions” and was to be performed “independently and outside of the purview of local law enforcement,” according to the source.

Although the level of detail collected from each operation is unclear, the information was reportedly submitted to Washington, where, “at the level of the National Security Branch (NSB), this information was to “include the office of the Directorate of Intelligence (DI), and integrated with a restricted access database, one that reportedly is accessible to only two agencies” [of the 14 agencies that comprise the U.S. intelligence community, according to the source.

“The implications to the citizens of the U.S. are ominous. It seems that there is a hostile political agenda coming from Washington that characterizes the supporters of our constitutional freedoms as threats to our domestic security, which is totally absurd. The redirection, the refocusing of domestic threats from al Qaeda cells to ‘flag waving right-wingers’ is something that has gone from a murmur a few years ago to a roar today.”

It's not the site that concerns me MM. It's the content of what is in the article. I don't want to get anyone in trouble here, but let me just say this. I personally know an FBI agent, and he/she confirms everything in this article. He/she has made it very clear that the Obama Admin has been adamant in their determination to "lessen the turnout" for any counter protests against his Admin!! That should scare the ever loving shit out of every single American regardless of their political stripe. My friend is a very nice man/woman and has zero reason to lie to me about this issue. Many agents in the bureau are beginning to talk amongst themselves about the tactics that Barry Co. is implementing in their covert spying on everyday Americans.

The very fact that this article appears on Alex Jone's site only bolsters it's argument as far as I'm concerned.

WOW there is a curve ball I never saw coming. . . Riffy is posting stuff from Alex Jones' website! Up is Down, black is white. . .

At least now the opposition groups aren't corraled into "free speech zone's."

The FBI has been infiltrating opposition groups for over 40 years . . .welcome to the party! If you read the stuff Jones has been posting since 2001, you'd realize that there is nothing different happening now. Your political affiliation is just on the other side of it now.

True, but given my friend's assessment, as well as this line in the article, " These changes have greatly accelerated under this administration" I find it a tad bit more worrisome. And, of course, the memo from Napolitano's office only underscores the point. Then we could delve into the whole Fairness Doctrine which is waiting in the wings, albeit with a different name. You just watch MM. Soon we will be hearing about "the need for more local news" from radio stations. The intent is to make syndicated shows too costly and bothersome to carry on local affiliates. This will be litigated by leftwing lawyers with the sole intent of shutting down the voices from the likes of Rush, Hannity, and Levin. Localism will be the new backdoor access for the Fairness Doctrine, and you will see that pursued vigorously starting very soon.

There is nothing that this Administration has done that I can say does not scare me. Now their talking about possibly prosecution of the lawyers that drew up the CIA interrogation papers?!?! Are you kidding me?!

Can you really defend this man MM? I mean you seem like a pretty pragmatic guy. Can you defend his spending? His release of heretofore classified CIA documents? Anything that he has done at all? Can you honestly defend it and feel that you're in the right?

Riffy,
I firmly believe that torture, no matter who is commiting it or what their intentions are, is a crime against humanity and should be prosecuted, period! I believe that the architects of those that legitimized torture should be tried in the Hague for war crimes pure and simple. I think it's goofy for Obama to go after the architects of the policy while giving those that actually used the methods a pass. I guess he doesn't want to get taken out by the CIA.
As for Obama's spending, well every industrialized nation affected by the financial meltdown have adopted massive spending programs to keep the international banking system functioning. Does the debt worry me, absolutely! Do I wish that there was another way, yep. I just haven't heard an alternative solution to the current situation. Personally I think the dollar is going to be scrapped in favor of a euro type currency for North America because the debt can never be repaid.
Just my 2 cents,
MM
