[quote author=Riffhard link=1223104028/3125#3148 date=1235434377]Well I am happy to report that a couple of friends of mine that voted for Obama have lately been showing some real signs of buyer's remorse. I tried to tell them that the man was not anywhere near qualified to be president yet they would not listen to me at that time. They now are scared to death of where this man child is leading the nation, and for very good reason.

Really? I wonder why. Seems to me if they have to listen to your panic rant, and if they don't know why they voted for President Obama, then they're lost in space anyway. We're all heading thru this crisis and have very little control, so really, stop listening to rush limbaugh, it's gonna get you a heart attack . . . . and he's not a good human being. He's just opinionated and angry.

I am wondering how many drones are actually starting to figure this out? Wall Street has been shitting the bed ever sin.ce he was the presumptive nominee, and it has gone down even further since he took office, down to a twelve year low today. Bush hasn't anything to do with this crap! No, this is all on the idiot that sits in the Oval Office now folks! He sucks!

Bush has no blame? Yep, sounds like limbaugh to me.

I know it's pointless to go back and forth here. I know how you feel too, Really. The last 8 years have been so very bad for the world. So you made a couble of bucks in the market, big deal. That's it for you huh.

Well, you're obviously are entitled to your opinion. 1 in 5 polled agree with you . . .

funman let me try and make this simple for you. The market started to tank the day that Obama was declared the Democrat nominee. I don't need to listen to Rush to tell me that. All one has to do is look at the market charts. Since the "Stimulus" bill was signed it has absoluty been in the shitter. It went further into the shitter when the idea of nationalizing the banks started to heat up. The market is petrified of just how far this socialist/Marxist is willing to go to push his agenda. He is now talking about cutting the deficit in half by 2013! How? He says he's going to cut spending programs and tax the rich! Watch out US military because your funds are about to get slashed bigtime! This is also why Michelle Bachman said "We don't have enough rich people." His plan on taxing the rich into the 39 percetile will kill jobs, and will ensure that many small busineses lay off more employees or just shut down shop altogether. Her comment was spot on! She's right! There are only so many rich Peters you can rob to pay all the poor Pauls. What Barry is doing is exactly what he said he would do! He is redistributing wealth on the most massive scale ever seen! If you think that this is good policy then you don't know anything about economics!

Obama is the most underqualified president in the history of this nation, and make no mistake, the Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves at the direction that he is taking the country!

Actually m_m this chart illustrates my point perfectly. Thank you for providing it! It was on the date of May 5th that Barry became the presumptive Democrat nominee. Do you see any correlation with that graph? I sure as hell do. So do all the Wall Street traders! Also note the date that the market really began to shit the bed. Is it any wonder that that date is the same two week period before the general election? At that time the winner was pretty clearly known.

Obama or Bush sabre rattling. . .

Coincidently enough that's around the same time Bush was escalting the war of words with Iran. As this chart shows the inverse correlation between the price of oil and the double top of the stock market quite well.

...

And an article from one of your beloved news sources from the same time . . .

http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/gates_iran_nuclear/2008/04/21/89837.html

Gates: Iran Hell Bent on Getting Nukes
Monday, April 21, 2008 10:32 PM

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Robert Gates said he believes Iran is "hell bent" on acquiring nuclear weapons, but he warned in strong terms of the consequences of going to war over that.

"Another war in the Middle East is the last thing we need and, in fact, I believe it would be disastrous on a number of levels," he said in a speech he was delivering Monday evening at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

A copy of his prepared remarks was provided in advance by the Pentagon.

He said he favors keeping the military option against Iran on the table, "given the destabilizing policies of the regime and the risks inherent in a future Iranian nuclear threat — either directly or through proliferation."

Gates also said that if the war in Iraq is not finished on favorable terms the consequences could be dire.

"It is a hard sell to say we must sustain the fight in Iraq right now, and continue to absorb the high financial and human costs of this struggle, in order to avoid an even uglier fight or even greater danger to our country in the future," he said.

But he added that the U.S. experience with Afghanistan — helping the Afghans oust Russian invaders in the 1980s only to abandon the country and see it become a haven for Osama bin Laden's terrorist network — makes it clear to him that a similar approach in Iraq would have similar results.

Gates said the U.S. military was not organized and equipped for the kind of wars it finds itself in today.

"The current campaign has gone on longer, and has been more difficult, than anyone expected or prepared for at the start," he said. "And so we've had to scramble to position ourselves for success over the long haul, which I believe we are doing."

He called a drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq "inevitable," with the debate mainly over timing.

"But the kind of enemy we face today — violent jihadist networks — will not allow us to remain at peace," he said. "What has been called the `long war' is likely to be many years of persistent, engaged combat all around the world in differing degrees of size and intensity. This generational challenge cannot be wished away or put on a timetable. There are no exit strategies."

The fact is m_m that we could go 'round and 'round on this issue, and I'm sure that the economic cluster fuck that greeted Barry his first week in office has not helped. However, there can be zero doubt that when the largest spending bill in the history of civilization is passed two weeks into his presidency, and then talk of nationalizing the banks (hello Citi Bank!) begins to percolate that these issues have scared the markets far more than the rhetoric with Iran. Especially given the fact that Barry also seems to be quite the appeaser in terms of his foreign policy. Look I personally know a couple of guys that work on Wall Street and both of them have told me in no uncertain terms that Obama is scaring the every loving shit out of the markets. One need only look towards Rick Santelli's rant on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to see that there is a lot of fear, and anger, amongst traders. The ripple effects through the international markets have been undeniable, and they have correlated with the ascendancy of socialism here in the States thanks to The One.

What I find most disturbing about this idiot is that he's lurching from strategy to strategy in search of something that will work. He doesn't have the gravitas to just settle on a policy & let it work. He's backtracked on at least a dozen campaign promises. You Obalama Twits are gonna have to start accepting that he's unqualified & untalented & pretty stoopit to boot!

Glencar, what is the point of the article? That people buy foreign cars?

What am I missing here?

That the people who are going to re-tool the US auto industry don't even drive American cars.

Ah, I guess I didn't read it carefully. I saw Geithner and Summers mentioned, but didn't make the connection . . . .

Well, I guess one could argue that even though the American automobile isn't their choice, they are moving to save the industry because it's the right thing to do, even if it's not what they would choose to buy.

I'm not poor, but I believe in helping the poor, even if it means my tax dollars are spent in the effort. Sure, some dirtbags will benefit, but maybe those dirtbags have children that will benefit.

Saving the US auto industry would help many, many dirtbags. Plus it would help our economy, balance of trade & overall well-being. The idiots that the Dim One has appointed to this latest committee (how many committees is that now? LOL) mostly don't drive American cars or cars at all. He had said he was going to appoint a "car czar" but that was another lurch.

BTW No probs with the misreading. I realize some of these articles can be a bit dry.
