Perhaps I should have been a little more clear here Ginda. I certainly was not blaming everyone for the actions of one person with an ax to grind. I was making the point that many liberal posters here seemingly have no problem when I get personally insulted for years on end, but rally around fellow liberals when they are attacked. Having said that, I must say that the general consensus concerning the "Blue incident" was that he was wrongfully attacked in the "real world". That was refreshing to see.

I should mention that I was not a huge McCain supporter either, but given the choice between a certified RINO, and an avowed Socialist/Marxist the choice was pretty obvious for me. My fears about Barry are proving to be far too valid, and if you don't believe that yet, just wait. You will. He's a disaster of the first order, and he will be a much much worse president than Bush could ever have been accused of.

The backlash is starting to gain steam. It will only grow as more and more of our liberties and cash are stolen, and "redistributed" by the good Comrade Obama!

I'd argue, rightly, that it was government meddling into the housing business via the Community Redevelopment Act initiated by Carter, and doubled down on by Clinton. Well, for those of you who do not support President Obama, these are really going to be 8 tough years. I know, I barely endured the GWB years. I found that reading my news (as opposed to watching) really takes a lot of the sting out.

I feel that since it was my opinion that GWB would mess the country up, and then sure enough, worse than I could have ever imagined, I can now take comfort in the fact that I was correct then, and that I'm likely to be correct now. See the logic ? I look for opinions and points of view from those that disagree with me, but usually I just find angry rhetoric. Not saying the stimulus plan will work, or that it is the only option for our troubles, but I haven't read anything to make me believe we'll certainly be screwed. Tax cuts seem like a joke, they never amount to any savings for me.

I didn't vote in 1992 or 1996, although I was interested in Dole's campaign for a short time. In the end I never voted. The Monica Lewinski debacle was really pathetic (pathetic of the Repubs). Clinton really should have told the press "none of your business", rather than lie about it. I was more upset about Clinton's lack of response to the Ruwanda crisis. I didn't like the blow job episode, but it wasn't what the Repubs made it out to be, IMO. Clinton used to debate with staffers into the early morning hours, GWB went to bed at 9:00PM sharp. It showed . . .

Reagan and Eisenhower have recently started to move up in the presidential rankings -- for the same reason George Washington is always ranked one of the best. Historians ought to detest Washington, but his exclusion from the top ranks of these pompous historian polls would expose the absurdity of their rankings.

Putting preposterously overrated presidents like John F. Kennedy or FDR in the same category as Reagan or Washington is like a teenage girl ranking the Jonas Brothers with the Rolling Stones and the Beatles as the three greatest bands of all time.
