We are so fucked. Thanks drones. Thanks a lot! This man is spending our kids' futures away faster than they can grow up and earn them, and now he's about to destroy the energy sector of the nation based on a phony power grabbing religion embraced by hard core leftists and brain dead Obamadrones! We have just committed national suicide because some people hated Bush so much that hey voted for an incompetent, and very dangerous fraud!

We're fucked! Fucked hard! Look for job losses in all the coal producing states in the hundreds of thousands before this madman is out of power!

Can a breathing tax be far behind?! Don't laugh. Anything is possible with this fucking clown in charge!

Thanks Obamadrones!

LOL! This is just too fucking rich! Let me start by saying that I was 100% right about the 10th Amendment issue, as I was referring to an article that Mark Levin wrote about the video in question. He raised the exact issue that I had made. I would link it, but frankly you're not worth the time that it would take to track down. You'll forgive me if I find the president and founder of the Landmark Legal Foundation, author of Men In Black (How the Supreme Court is Destroying America), and former Chief Of Staff to Edwin Meese to be imminently more qualified than you to make the case on this issue! I made it abundantly clear that that while some lawyers could very well get around the 10th, it was the spirit of the 10th Amendment that the idiot Rangal and Mark Reich were trampling upon. Levin would eat you up and spit you out on this topic. You being a "true" conservative should have agreed with me on this point. You didn't though. Strange. How very liberal of you!

Yeah, me too, I couldn't find anything on it either.

Riffhard wrote on Feb 16th, 2009 at 10:26am:
Secondly let me just say that while you can try and play this crap about "creepy e-mails" or whatever such BS. I can only assume that you are referring to the infamous back channel horseshit? I was never a part of that crap Goober. The fact is that I have made some very real friends on these boards, not just cyber friends, and yes, more than a few of them have commented on your constant "Bush Geek" crap that was designed for the sole reason of trying to humiliate others, and no doubt, me in particular. I don't say anything to anyone on these boards that I wouldn't say to their faces. I try and keep things as civil as possible most times. Can it ever get out of hand? Sure sometimes, but that is never my intent.

However, your constant harping on and on about this meaningless "Bush Geek" shit is obviously an attempt to try and impress your little coffee klatch of like minded people, and get under my skin. Guess what? You've succeeded! You're a nudge as my 87 year old grandmother used to say. You go out of your way to try and insult people. It is for this reason that I have to question your manhood. I question it for one reason alone. Because I think that you are a perfect example of someone who displays "Internet muscles". I have met you before back at YOTI 12 years ago. You just melted into the crowd with hardly a word spoken. I have a tough time believing that you would be so bold as to accuse me of being any kind of geek in person. In fact I highly doubt that you would even consider saying that kind of shit to my face. If you did I can guarantee that it would be the last time that you did. I mean you and your "Bush Geek" crap goes back for well over two years now. Can you make that argument about me? Have I tried and humiliate you for two years or more? No. Hell no in fact. I'm not an asshole like you are. I don't try and embarrass people just for shits and giggles. I would happily call you an asshole to your face and tempt you to try and shut me up. You have earned that right. You, and only you, brought this on! I have even tried to be your friend on past occassions. You just turned your back on that for some reason that I can't quite comprehend. Why? Because you disagreed with me about something? Seems crazy to me.

You'd never have the guts to say to to my face that I wouldn't say that shit to your face.  And I'd say that to your face that you wouldn't say that to my face.  Seriously, lets not talk about situations like that, because in my experience, they can end up happening.

What pissed you off is a post about George Walker Bush III releasing terrorists from Guantanamo prison.  Nothing else.  Nothing else at all.  You, of course, could care less if some Bush-released 9/11 terrorists are now running around committing acts of terrorism - you're concerned, and get so upset, because its an annoying fact to have floating around the next time you feel the need to post, for example, that Jimmy Carter caused 9/11.  Don't worry man, I've read many of your posts (even the embedded articles you don't read yourself), it doesn't matter how many psychotic Islamic terrorists George Walker Bush III released, you'll find a way to say it's someone else's fault if they kill someone - grey matter notwithstanding, when it comes to setting up ridiculous double standards and carrying on as if nothing happened, you truly are a freakin' genius.

Riffhard wrote on Feb 16th, 2009 at 10:26am:
So while you have found some people on this thread that seem to think that you have "owned" me! Or "schooled" me. Or "Put me to bed without supper". Please take note that every single one of them, to a man or woman, is just like you! Mainly a liberal! Is it any wonder that they'd love to believe this horseshit?! You haven't owned, schooled, or put anyone to bed tough guy! Instead of just trying to impress your little circle of cheerleaders, why don't you take a look at the way that you have gone out of your way to alienate yourself from people that used to consider you a friend. You'll just have to trust me when I tell you that the list is longer than you know. And this ain't got shit to do with any back channel bullshit either! It has everything to do with the fact that you just flat out come across as a prick and people have just stopped trying to engage you in any kind of conversation because of it.

Are you going to let the rest of us see this scorecard you guys keep of posters' political leanings and friends?  "Liberals" - its unreal, the convenient and ever-shifting boxes and lines you draw around damn near everything.  I can assure you that I have no flippin' idea of the politics of the people I think you are referring to above.  Isn't Jizzo a Libertarian?  I thought I read that once.  Maybe not.  Anyway, I'll guarantee they don't cheerlead anything I post - I think you just personally insulted the living hell out of each one of them with that associative comment.  And if you are to be believed, and friends I have made here are no longer friends because I think its a terrible idea for a president to release 9/11 terrorists while simultaneously socializing the nation's financial industry, and because I think people who consistently apologize for or excuse that are......something else, then that is unfortunate and I truly do feel bad about it, but maybe I'm not missing out on that much anyway?

I never personally insulted you Riffy, not once, until you did to me.  You are too pro-big government and weak on terror to ever be my political friend, but I was under the impression we were regular friends, until a short while ago.  And just so you know, one of your political friends misinformed you, dude - I don't work in a field that could even remotely be considered social work, and I certainly don't work for the government - never have, never will.  You can call me a gooberish liberal till the fish come home, but don't ever call me a government employee again, goddamit!

Riffhard wrote on Feb 16th, 2009 at 10:26am:
You want this shit to end? Then stop being an asshole! Stop with the constant Bush Geek shit. Stop deliberately trying to insult and humiliate! When I engage in a political argument I try and keep the personal shit out of it. On occasion I go overbboard. Everyone does! It comes with the territory. When I do I readily admit that I was out of line. I also try and impress upon people that I would gladly sit down with them and drink some cold beers. Hell, I'd even buy the first round! You, on the other hand, come across as a person that gets more pleasure out of trying to insult with stupid Goober-speak, or the veiled references aimed at certain posters, mostly me. You have zero regard for keeping the personal insults out of things. You roll in them like a dog will roll in shit.

Riffy

Riffy, because I'm a nice guy, and because, whether you believe it or not, I was not trying to insult or humiliate you, the noble Bush Geek franchise has been terminated.  And from now on, I will be very careful to make sure that my posts take into account most kinds of known sensitivities.  I swear to black fucking Christ, I will.  Besides, its been in the back of my mind for awhile that timing wise, with my life busier than ever, and the Rolling Stones now done for good, and many of my favorite posters/friends having faded in the last few years, and the Steelers' 6th championship season over, and yours and my favorite U.S. president of all time just out of office, maybe it is a good time for me to find more productive projects.

I watched ABC & CBS tonight & CBS totally ignored the story. ABC covered Holder's speech but not the controversial portion. Nah, there's no such THING as media bias!
I don't follow (I understand the question of bias, but not of your outrage).

Are you saying that you felt Holder's comments should have be questioned by the media? That he mis-spoke?
They were fairly controversial comments (the USA is a nation of cowards when it comes to race) & CBS totally ignored it. It turned out that ABC did cover it (mea culpa!) but in a very sympathetic way in Holder's direction. I laughed when the MSM tore at the Clintoons & praised Obalama. The laugh was on me, it turned out.

Fairly controversial?

Comments made by an African American Attorney General who was appointed by the First African American ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE to be President of the United States.

A nation of cowards?? A slap in the face to those who looked BEYOND color and cast a vote for Obama, imhfo.

Do we have racial problems??? Of course we do.
Did the election of Pres Obama show that we are making GREAT progress?? Damn right.

Holder's timing could not have been worse!

I only said "fairly" because I saw the headline but didn't get to read or see a news story on the speech yet. Holder's a scumbag just for his role in the Marc Rich pardon. That supposedly "seamless" transition turned out to be a horror show!

As to Holder's speech. I challenge those who are criticizing "the sound bytes/headlines" they read/watch(FOX or Drudge) to actually listen to what he said!!!   Yes he was provocative, but hell sometimes bluntness has its place and he WAS addressing his employees. For so long, we have pussyfooted over this issue.  Oh sure, we elected a Black President so that shows we aren't prejudiced and the work is done??!!

Oh hell...one just needs to read this thread to see how far we have come... Shit!

FYI Meg. I get MY morning news from MSNBC, not exactly a BASTION of right wingers.

READ my post.

I acknowledge that we certainly do have racial problems but that PROGRESS was made with the election of President Obama. In no way did I imply that the election erases all racial issues.

As far as soundbites, you know damned well that when a speech is crafted and delivered the speaker knows that certain catch phrases are gonna get attention.

I also take offense with your presumption that some of us don't have all the facts before we craft a post.

Close down the Bush Geek franchise if you must sirmoonie, but I intend to continue using that term when engaged in face to face jousting with...well... Bush Geeks.   It fits.   Only the king of the one liners can match your precision in getting to the heart of a matter.  You do it with wit and without resorting to threats and actions that would cause personal or professional injury to posters with whom you disagree.

Riffhard is wrong in his blanket assumption that all who applauded your swift handling of his diatribe share your political leanings.  You were the last man standing in that two-way exchange and we couldn't help but notice your Ali-like knockout punch.

I've been watching your jib for many, many years now.  I like the cut of it.

I am amazed that a guy that is supposed to be so damn smart would have made such a stupid and insulting comment.

Apparently, he feels the need to fan the flames of victimization like Jesse Jackoff and Al Sharpton -- who exist only if "racial tensions" linger.  Mr. Holder seems to want to ignore the real race problems in this country, such as the astonishing rate of black male on black male crime.

Nope, easier to accuse the entire country of cowardice because we don't have affirmative action quotas at our backyard barbeques.

Mr. Holder, you are a pathetic excuse for an Attorney General.

Gee, I didn't realize there was "work" to be done. And I'm not even getting paid for it! As I said in my initial post, I only saw a brief story on ABC about this so you can take your usual Drudge/FOX gibe & stuff it where the sun don't shine. That BS worked for the last eight years but you'll need a new tune now to defend your moron. As for whom he was addressing, even "HIS" employees (we actually pay their salaries; well, the taxpayers among us) shouldn't have to hear such drivel. If Nov. 4, Jan. 20 etc were such "historic" days(indeed so historic that the grocery store is overflowing with special edition magazines about it & the tee shirt racks still have 'em available) then why aren't we done? Despite the cowardly accusations of jizzbot & a couple of drive-by posters, I defy you to find any racism in the anti-Obalama posts.  It's not the color of his skin that offends me; it's his insane ideas about redistributing wealth in this country. Now the big outrage is PAYING people who actually pay their own mortgages on time. Gee, I've done that for 20 years now. Am I eligible for this latest handout? Face it, you backed a dog in the last race.

Why is there always some excuse for why not quite as many people showed up to see this idiot? Many of us attended freezing cold shows to see the Stones just 2 years back. I attended the 2004 re-Inauguration & that was an ice storm. If people really wanted to see the guy, they'd show up. Maybe people with little babies would be smart enough to stay home but most people would be there. There's a lot less to this guy than meets the eye.

BTW Starbuck, what is YOUR opinion on the Holder speech? Have you even heard about it? That's not a slight against you; it's received very little coverage. We know what would have happened if a Bush appointee had said something along those lines.

While we're waiting for Starbuck, here's my take.

I saw the reporting on 4 0r 5 channels, 2 of which were local news, so I think it got covered by the media.

Holder's tone was very subdued and I really thought it was presented as a personal opinion of his, and felt no shame.
If GWB (or an appointee) had said something similar, I would have been pleasantly surprised, regardless of whether I aggreed or not.

Speaking of GWB appointee's, anyone care to share their opinion of Christie Whitman's assurance that the air in NYC (after the buildings fell) was safe? Off topic yes, but I saw a blurb about it on TV last night and it reminded me  . . . Lot's of "first-responders still suffering the effects.

You must live in a better area than me then. And delivering remarks in a subdued way doesn't change the essential BS of what he said. It's clear for all now how he'll approach the job & it doesn't bode well.
