                                                      GEORGE W. BUSH

                               1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

                               Washington , DC 20520

           EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

                     Law Enforcement:

I was arrested in Kennebunkport , Maine , in 1976 for

driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had

my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been

           "lost" and is not available.

                              Military:

I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I

refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By

joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in

           Vietnam .

                              College:

I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I

           was a cheerleader.

           PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:

I ran for U.S. Congress and lost.

I began my career in the oil business in Midland , Texas

in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas . The

company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart

deal that took land using taxpayer money.

With the help of my father and our friends in the oil

industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas .

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS :

I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil

companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union . During my

tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in

           America .

I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the

tune of billions in borrowed money.

I set the record for the most executions by any governor

           in American history.

With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida ,

and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President of

the United States , after losing by over 500,000 votes.

           ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office

           with a criminal record.

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing

cost of over one billion dollars per week.

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the

           U.S.Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in

           U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies

           filed in any 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a

           12-month period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the

history of the U.S. stock market. In my first year in office, over 2

million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest

of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire,"

Condoleezza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by

           a U.S. President.

                               I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for

receiving the most corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my

best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy

           fraud in U.S. history, Enron.

My political party used Enron private jets and corporate

attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Cour t during my

           election decision.

I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton

against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent

investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating

one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history. I presided over the

biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when

corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S.

           history.

I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals

           to be awarded government contracts.

I appointed more convicted criminals to my

administration than any President in U.S. history.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest

bureaucracy in the history of the United States Government.

I've broken more international treaties than any

           President in U.S. history.

I am the first President in U.S. history to have the

United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners

of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva

           Convention.

I am the first President in history to refuse United

Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 US election).

I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences

of any President since the advent of television.

I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in

any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I

presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.

I garnered the most sympathy ever for the U.S. after the

World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the

most hated country in the world , the largest failure of diplomacy in world

           history.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide

to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people),

shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of

           mankind.

I am the first President in U.S. history to order an

unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign

nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of

U.S. Citizens and the world community.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and

support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families in

           wartime.

In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our

reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends.

I am the first President in history to have a majority

of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace

           and security.

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical

           Bunker Buster," a WMD.

I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama

           Bin Laden to justice.

           RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as Governor of Texas are now in

my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.

All records of SEC investigations into my insider

trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for

           public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my

Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in

secrecy and unavailable for public review. I specified that my sealed

documents will not be available for 50 years.

SG, you can do better than getting sucked in about the past, right?
Isn't this about change?
We were told to forget about the past, right?
Why can't you?

**************************

Heard a good series of observations this am about the past 15 days of the Obama admin....

Remember the days of film developing
You would take the undeveloped film, go into a dark room
move the film around in a developing solution, the picture would
start to appear.

Unfortunately, the picture which is appearing on the first 15 days of
the Obama admin have not developed well.

Nice, amiable guy, who is getting sucked into the ways of Washington.
He's probably being told to overlook the warts of these nominees, as
they are not drastic.  This is translating to mean that Obama is not putting
his foot down on employing people with issues in their past

Where is Rob Emmanuel, saying no to these things?  Isn't that
the job of the Chief of Staff, to show how things will backfire?

Obama has had a team of people since November who should be vetting
these nominees out, yet they seem to be content with questionable discressions

Other observations are that most thought Obama would usher in a new admin, one
of change.  One different than 12 years of Bush combined & eight years of Clinton

Instead, he's shaping up to be the 3rd Clinton anministration, hiring as many Clintonites
as possible, some now whom have issues in their past, some whom have been lobbyists
since working for Clinton, amassing millions.

He's also not shown up with a sweeping plan of change, rather going to Congress to ask, give me your
opinion of what should happen, we'll shape & mold this from there.  So what the Dem controlled House & Senate hand him is a bailout package which takes care of many nonsense items in the districts of these leaders.  Obama is now stuck with pushing a package full of pork.  Even on Gitmo, the best he could do was sign a decree to close it, however, he has no plan on handling those whom are there.  If he thinks any state is just going to take these radioactive prisoners, the nimbys will be out in full force totell him no.
(Of course, Minnesota will be a great place for them, right Bucky?)

The summary was that this is not the broad stroked change which Obama promised.
Unless he starts to show more control than the past 15 days have not shown, he will
never have control.

*********************

And none of this can be blamed on any past administration......it's look in the mirror time...

not saying things have gone smoothly....the daschle nomination and geithner's taxes were embarrasing.

that being said, give the man time to screw up. it's been two weeks.

gotta admit...it is funny to hear those on the right squirm! welcome to our hell for the past 8 years! (sans invading the wrong country, of course)

No, Dubya would have driven us headlong into a trade war with Europe.

Clearly, THAT'S posting above the rim. Others could learn...

Apparently, Etta James is pissed off that she wasn't invited to sing "At Last" at the Inaugural Ball :

Being a big Etta James fan, I can't blame her for being angry, especially since Beyonce once did a really awful version of the song (at a Fashion Rocks show). This one isn't that bad, IMO..

Well she should have been, as this was a celebration of an historic event.

"That little screenie-thing right there says for me to tell you that change is coming.  As soon as I vet out the rest of my corrupt cabinet, plug any holes in the boat from you-know-who behind me, and try and convince Congress to pass that ever-bloating pork carcass that we 'round here like to call a Stimulus Package."

Much like Joey, this guy's got the Stimulus Package that isn't. Plenty of goodies for people who give NOTHING to society & very little for job creation. I wonder if any morons who voted for this idiot will evr admit their mistake?

Yowie! I'm playing that youtube of "At Last" that carp linked & it's horrid. Etta James should be pissed off after getting pissed on.

or much of 2008, the media—in a swoon over the purported flawlessness of the Obama campaign—fed the narrative that such competence would carry over into an Obama administration, relieving a beleaguered nation of the incompetence of the Worst President in History.

Skeptics would occasionally point out that the Obama campaign's alleged competence might, perhaps, be more a function of the media's sycophantic reporting than Obama's wizardry. After all, Obama did commit a number of errors that could have sunk a campaign not kept afloat by a cheerleading press. But, we were assured that a a man who'd never before directly run anything bigger than a popstand and who had a fondness for voting "present" would ease effortlessly into the most difficult job in the world and immediately set about healing the planet.

Barely two weeks into his presidency, the media is bewildered by the daily snafus coming from the White House: the galactic mismanagement of the corrupt stimulus bill, the Daschle debacle, the Geithner outrage, the Zinni circus, the Killefer embarrassment. These are hardly the products of a well-oiled machine. Then there's the utter lack of seriousness conveyed by Obama's claim that we are at war with "some" terrorist organizations and his disingenuous handling of Gitmo and rendition.

These screw-ups portend ill for bigger issues down the road. As Victor Davis Hanson noted yesterday,  Obama will soon need to address issues percolating in Russia, North Korea, and Pakistan—not to mention Iran. He won't be able to safely vote "present".

It's early in the presidency. The last two weeks don't necessarily signal that the administration is incompetent or that things can't be righted.

But it sure highlights the incompetency of many in major media.
