So you support redistribution after you were against it, John?

"What's the matter? You guys all claim to support the troops but when push comes to shove you hold onto yer wallets when it comes to paying for that support. I guess it's cheaper to put a ribbon magnet on your car than to actually pay for the troops' welfare."

First off, I pay my taxes, and I have no problem with my tax dollars going to the military.
And I do not have any ribbons on my truck, thanks very much!

I do have a problem with liberals raising my already hefty tax burden to send money to some fat ass slob that hasn't lifted a finger to try to help himself.  I do not support a welfare state run by the federal government.  We already have plenty of social entitlement programs that are inefficient and/or bankrupt.   Why on Earth would I support more of the same.

If you want to argue the point - try staying on point.

A crap argument mm and you know it! This has dick all to do with the troops! They are talking about classic wealth redistribution here! In fact they are talking about the exact same kind of wealth redistribution that Sal Alinsky wrote about all those years ago. There is NOTHING AMERICAN ABOUT THIS PLAN!!!!

Riffy

This has nothing to do with the troops. We're on the way out of Iraq & A-stan isn't all that expensive. This is about ponying up for more welfare for losers who don't want to work hard enough to actually make a success out of life. I asked Meg her stand on redistribution all those months ago & all I got was a giggle & a feint towards how bad W was. Well, he's out of office now & all answers should refer to Obalama from now on. I sincerely hope that those who get hit hardest in this recession turn out to be the 20-something idiots who voted for this moron.

BTW What do you think of Reich saying that the money isn't going to fund white construction workers? Besides being awfully racist, isn't it classist?

I saw Judge Judy yesterday. One of the defendants in a case was a 25 year old woman who had 3 or 4 kids & had never worked a day in her life. She was asked what she did for a living & she answered that she'd had a bad leg since childhood & received SSI disability. This loser is going to win in the Obalama Lottery whilst people who have actually worked 6 day work weeks will fork over even more money.

The New "Classy Crowd" Hits DC

President Bush was given an Iraqi-journalist-style sendoff on his last full day in office Monday, as tourists and demonstrators lobbed shoes, pumps, boots, sandals and Crocs from Pennsylvania Avenue onto the White House lawn.

Before launching the operation live, the shoe-chuckers took target practice in Dupont Circle on a 20-foot-tall blow up doll of the outgoing president, decked out in the flight suit he wore aboard the "Mission Accomplished" aircraft carrier.

2009-01-19-shoes2.jpg

Unlike Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi reporter who inspired the protest, none of the shoe-throwers in the group were arrested. (Later that day, reports NBC, one man was arrested for chucking a shoe at the White House.)

Marching down Connecticut Avenue with handfuls of footwear, the group of about a hundred was on the receiving end of enthusiastic honks, thumbs-up and waves from people in the street.

The reception was almost as warm from the people guarding the White House.

"Don't hit me!" one officer behind the White House fence joked as shoes rained around him.

Tracey Primavera, a shoe-lobber from Provincetown, Massachusetts, shouted at the guard that she had a pump that would look nice on him.

Now, you will have more than Mike Vick to worry about
with all of the Gitmo detainees to be released, being able
to re-define terror.  You will have wish those dawgs were back again..

Funny how there's not been any
flight school training issues resulting
in planes flying into buildings for seven
years.  Look for that to ramp up again.

Give a few to The Pats, they could lobotomize them, for the D line.

Remember the sense of unity and support for the President after 9/11?  Don't expect a similar response from the right wing in the current economic crisis.  You may recall after the attacks some commentators stating that it was a good thing that Bush "won" the 2000 election, because Republicans would never have rallied around Gore the way Democrats did for Bush.  The same "party and ideology first/country second" attitude is now being displayed by dead-enders on this board and their reactionary ringleaders.  As comedian Rush Limbaugh said of President Obama, "Four words:  I hope he fails."  Watch for these sore losers to ignore, deny and mischaracterize the President's successes for the next eight years.

Entitlement programs take a minisule portion of our tax dollars compared to what we spend on the military. ...
The right wingers on this board have stood by silently for the last 6 years while our treasury has been pilfered by Bush and his cronies. (Think cost plus contracts, billions of dollars unaccounted for during Paul Bremer's tenure at the CPA etc) You all watched while the tax cuts depleted revenues and an exponential expanding of spending went on. If you look around, states are starting to hand out IOU's for paychecks. Unemployment funds are drying up. I hope none of you becomes the fat slob who need help to get by because you're suddenly unemployed. It ain't Obama that's putting this country in the poorhouse. . .we are already there!

Do you live in a fantasy world about an event called 9/11?
Don't worry, as that piece of the pie will shrink to your liking.
Your only worry will be if you are able understand the Farsi
that it will be written in, after the lack of defense, lack of security
lack of military, lack of strategic initiatives to keep this country
safe are thrown away, in the transparency which is now.

9/11 was the Al Qaeda Super Bowl. They DON'T NEED to do anything else. They are still busy sitting around JO'ing to the thought of it....And who's watch did it come under? As long as we keep delivering fresh blood to them overseas. They don't have to come here to kill americans.
