Sincere Apologies To Everyone,

Over the past several months I have posted funny pictures and jokes to friends who I thought shared the same sense of humour as me.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the case and I seem to have upset quite a few people and I have been accused of being sexist and shallow. If you were one of these people, please accept my humblest apologies.

From now on I will only post with a cultural or educational content such as old monuments, nature or other interesting material .

below, you'll find a picture of the Pont Neuf Bridge in Paris.

For those of you who are interested, Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge in Paris and took 26 years to build. Construction began in 1578 and ended in 1604. 'Le Pont Neuf' is actually made of 2 independent bridges, one with seven arches and the other with five arches.

Fascinating stuff. I hope you will enjoy the new Pdog!

wtf is there to do in houston? well, besides have your hubcaps stolen?

First, you are going to need a mini-bar big fucking time.  Make sure the hotel has them in every room.

Second, having being surrounded by white geeks all your life, you will probably be alarmed at the number of negroes in a typical America city.  I think that exact thing happened to another un-named white poster on this board.  Don't be afraid, Stangbaff.  They will sense that like scales on fish and, in any case, its not necessary.  The black man has been our friend since the mid 80s.  Christ, we even elected one as Pres a few weeks ago.  Just try not to disgrace yourself and act like a freakin' Romney fan or you will get yourself pummeled into a mold of gelatinous, quivering piss.

Peggy Noonan is a class act, though I regretted that she felt obliged to backtrack a little after being caught telling the truth about Palin on a live microphone.  Speaking of Palin, did anyone see "Boston Legal" last night?  A woman was fired from her job for being stupid.  Her boss, himself a McCain supporter, explained that the woman--a former Hillary voter--supported McCain because she thought that Palin was "spunky."  The lambasting that Shirley Schmidt (Candace Bergen) gave the woman for switching from Hillary to McCain (whose positions were the opposite of Hillary's on every major subject) instead of to Barack (whose positions are virtually identical to Hillary's) was too perfect.

STONES CONTENT ALERT:  The other story line in last night's episode involved Denny Crane and Carl Sack trying a case in Virginia.  When they arrived there, the soundtrack music was a cover of the chorus of "Sweet Virginia"!  Some conveniently timed truck noise covered the word "shit."

she got busted, and i loved the 'this was - excuse gentelmen - political bullshit' line.
she made up for it in my opinion, for finally writing the most scathing and astute evaluation of palin's shortcomings: 'palin's failin'...

The Big Boys are from Austin, TX... I know Chris Gates. They were the shit in the 80's. Ironically him and Brian from Minor Threat went on to be in LA rock/glam band Junkyard... Truth is stranger!!! Now he does Southern Rock...
Austin is like SF w/o the bridges?

I swore I'd NEVER return to this thread BUT.......

Just a question for the Obama supporters. I should rephrase. Presidential Candidate Obama. I hope we are all supporting President Elect Obama.

I've been reading/hearing that many diehard supporters are less than thrilled with the appointment of former Clinton Admins to the new Administration with cries of "this is NOT change".

Anyone here feel the same?

Also, your feelings on Hillary as potential Sec of State????

Bubba's dealings could hurt Hillary's chances, which would be the irony.

Great questions!  As to the "not change" complaint, the question is:  Where did these whiners expect Barack to get his advisers from?  Bill Clinton is the only Democratic President in the last 28 years.  Barack was not going to repeat the mistake of not including seasoned hands from the prior Dem administration, as Bill did by shutting out former Jimmy Carter aides.  Nuts on the left (or right) may have hoped (or feared) that Barack would name Rev. Wright as Chief of Staff and Bill Ayers as Secretary of Education.  It was never going to happen.  He's a pragmatist, not an ideologue.  His goal is to get the job done.  His appointments demonstrate the absurdity of the Hannity fearmongering.

Hillary is an interesting question.  My first reaction was positive.  I think she could do the job.  But there is the problem of Bill and his foreign donors.  And David Ignatius points out that most successful Secretarys of State have come from outside electoral politics:

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2008/11/the_case_against_hillary.h...

I would prefer to see Hillary move up to a leadership position in the Senate.  I understand that she lacks seniority, but I picture her as a vastly more effective Majority Leader than Harry Reid (damning with faint praise?).  And frankly, I think it would be quite nifty to have women running both houses of Congress.

Hillary needs to stay in the Senate to be most effective, imo.

i am disapointed...
the clintonian regime alienated me as a democrat.
they did some good things, but they were ultimately destructive to the party and ushered in an age political cynicism and blind loyalty.
yes, it bothers me.

Yep...
I am thinking like BJ too.
Hilliary needs to stay in the Senate and help rein in Pelosi ( I have no love for that woman- Wink).  Two women running the show?- What a sight that would be!!

I am confident that Obama will do as he has promised and have a variety of leaders on his staff, not just "yes men" and like thinkers.  I just pray that he can keep the damn lobbyists away.

i hope so too.
i have my own reservations about the clintons, but i trust obama's own decision-making.
i've been trying to read team of rivals, the book about lincoln that obama has cited numerous times...for the past year because spielberg is filming it....then i discover its obama's political bible.
so i've opened the book again.
i love that he idolizes lincoln, this country's paragon of integrity and courage.

Actually I would like to See Hillary as AG. I mean,I think she is a lawyer right?...Plus we have had a couple of female SOS in recent years. Just think about changing that up maybe...But to go off an a bit of a rant......Can we PLEASE let the first family pick their own dog without major media specualtion or special interest...What, they need to get a 1 eye, three leg, shelter dog that was abandoned by it's parents, going through rehab and might be gay(not that their's anything wrong with that) just to be PC....Would it be to crazy to suggest that maybe the kids get to pick out their own dog. Fuck you Gazza, Will ya?
