Were any of those on your list on the FBI's most wanted list ala Marc Rich? Any of those people directly related to the president ala Roger Clinton and his drug dealing friend?

Casper Weinberger?! That was a political hatchet job to begin with! Even Democrats will admit to that fact! Casper Weinberger was an honorable man by all accounts. All who knew, form both sides of the aisle, say the same thing!

Plus please note the dates of the convictions compared to the pardons that Clinton sold via "Pardongate". He was pardoning people that were still on the lamb! Again, I point to Marc Rich. Gee, I guess it was just a coincidence that Denise Rich donated hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the construction of the Clinton Presidential Library? Surely there was no quid pro quo involved? Yeah, right!

Pardoning drug dealers and embezzlers is OK but pardons for tax evasion are outrageous! Air force drug dealers no less. Weinberger. . .no quid pro quo, are you serious? Why pardon him 12 days before his trial started if it was just a "hatchet job"? If there was nothing there than why the pre-emptive pardon?

BJ just out of curiosity where do stand on partial birth abortion? Because it has been my experience that most liberals have no problem at all with the death of a viable life provided that life is an unborn baby.

The way I see it is that if a criminal can be proven beyond the shadow of a doubt to have commited cold blooded murder via DNA evidence, eyewitnesses, video evidence, confession, etc., then I see little reason to pay for them for the rest of their natural lives to the tune of over $200,000.00.

On the other hand you have a child that is 100% without a doubt innocent that can be legaly murdered via partial birth abortion for the flimsiest of reasons. The health of the mother excuse is a great example. Health of the mother means anything that the doctor and the mother decides it means with little bearing on life or death of the mother. Headache? Why not? Hang nail? Sure! Hey it's legal afterall, right?

Liberals would never opt to kill a person that killed a child. Legally or otherwise it seems.

Riffy

My opinion on intact dilation and extraction is the same as my opinion on any other medical procedure:  it is a matter best left to the patient and her doctor, without interference from politicians or government bureaucrats.  I decline to use the term "partial birth abortion," which was concocted by a politician for propaganda purposes.  And do you actually think women are undergoing this procedure because of a headache or a hangnail?  Please try to be more serious than your friends Rush and Hannity.

The only categorically consistent "pro-life" position is that of the Catholic Church, which opposes both abortion (in all cases) and capital punishment.  My position on medical freedom and my opposition to the death penalty are also logically consistent.  They are both based on a belief in human autonomy.  The death penalty is wrong because the justice system cannot be made error-proof.  Restrictions on medical practice are wrong because they interfere with the most difficult private decisions.

Very lawyerly as I might have suspected you would be BJ. So is it your position that a fetus that would be 100% viable outside the womb has zero rights? A fetus in the late third trimester is only granted the rights that the mother confers upon it? I see no way to square that with your position on capital punishment. If you are so adamant in your opposition to capital punishment due to the human error factor. Then why would use dismiss human error as it relates to a doctor's opinion on matters related to health of the mother? You are, quite literally, throwing the baby out with the bathwater. By that standard a baby that is in the birth canal en-route to a perfectly healthy normal delivery would have no rights until the umbilical cord were severed at which point it would be murder to kill it.

This all goes to the argument about when life begins. Now I won't get into that argument because it will make for nothing but an argumentative circle jerk (Much like this entire thread! LOL!) However, there can be little doubt,or argument, that a baby that is fully formed and capable of living independent of it's mother is most certainly an individual being! Therefore, the argument goes, that that "person" has rights which are bestowed upon it by the US Constitution. No ridiculous 13th Amendment argument can trump that fact. So the legal question is clearly spelled out. But, more importantly, the moral question should be obvious to everyone.

empty headed... I think that means free from clutter and bullshit, clear, no hate or resentment. Empty headed is a good thing, unless you enjoy a head full of hate! I know you and I don't, and our handling of hurtful comments, IMO, shows just how empty we are of all that anger in between the ears...

Comedy is best left to professionals.
This could be said for any president, which I understand.

Somehow, I think he could've done without the Nancy Reagan seanace reference, IMO

If that is all you can find to "pick apart" in the performance today, there just might be some hope this guy isn't as bad as you pictured him in your mind.  Wink

Come on!  It was an attempt at humor, not a slam.  And it is a well know fact that Nancy was worried about the ghosts in the Whitehouse-LOL

I'm open to give him a chance.
Comedy is best left to professionals.
This could be said for any president, which I understand.

I'm giving this guy the same rope I initially gave Carter, Clinton.
He's the president elect, as everyone should, he should be given
a chance.  He should be supported during thick & thin, as with
every president.  Every president inherits issues, which they have
to deal with, with the conditions dictating how best the situation can
be dealt with.

Thought the President-elect did a good job with his first press conference.  Particularly liked his story about buying the puppy for the girls. Guess I would though ,huh?!!(empty-headed and all Wink)

No shit. I'm less impressed you with every passing post. Perhaps you should stick to that Brucie thread.

It just shows what a piece of shit he is. I didn't watch the freak show but I heard on the radio that he refused to answer a question about raising taxes on the successful in order to pay off losers.

I'm starting to think these next few years will be GREAT. The lies & hypocrisy will be obvious to almost all except for empty-headed frivolous folks. Cool Cool Cool Tongue Tongue Tongue

From Monkeyman's post about Alaska's low turnout:

Pollster Del Ali of the Maryland firm Research 2000, which tracked the House and Senate races in Alaska, said he was "not happy" how the races -- and dead wrong polling numbers -- turned out. Research 2000 had reported in the days before the election that Democratic challenger Mark Begich, an Anchorage attorney, was leading the 84-year-old Stevens by 22 percentage points (Daily Kos apparently paid for the polls).

Any poll that the Daily Kos paid for is worthless. If Sean Hannity had paid for a poll, it would be almost as worthless.

I've watched 8 years of hate by these Dem morons. It's all over the web & MSM. Payback's a bitch & this is gonna be fun. BTW I might seem angry but that was days ago. As I type these posts, I've got a smile on my face. I just hope no one tries to censor me for that!

GC, it's the dilligence of observance tact that I'm taking.
There's not much that can be done now, except watching out for one's self.
Here in PROM, it could be a windfall, for we could lose John "live-shot" Kerry, &
Deval "Coupe Deville" Patrick to the 'bama admin.  Now, if bama can locate a slot
for Barney Frank, it'll be a trifecta.

LOL Nellie, somehow passing on the PROM's problems to the whole country doesn't lighten my outlook! I think this defeat for America will concentrate the GOP & make them focus on core issues like defense, cutting taxes & stopping immigration. I see us taking back at least several seats in 2 years. Things are looking up already!
