I want to thank you all, as this thread was really informative, I read some of your posts and learned a lot about the topic in a funnier way than just reading the news or the websites about the candidates. I was able to discuss some topic in parties or reunions and LOL one time they asked me “You are really well informed on both candidates where did you get the information? …and you know the answer.

I’m sure you have a great new president but probably McCain was a better option but thanks to Bush he lost, McCain is not Bush or similar. Anyway both candidates were carefully selected and both are best of the best. The good thing is to make team work.

We are on the wrong side of the planet, now is the Far East who rules the world or they are close to do it.

My friends, we can move forward and solve the nation's problems later.  Now is the time for us to come together and point fingers and assess blame.  First, the nationwide election results are solely the fault of the Bush Geeks and their ridiculous twerpy leaders.  Second, I don't like white people.  Third, suck my dick.  Fourth, yeah, we'll fucking see about that, Maynard.

you are indeed nice in person. gator chicks dig you.

however, calling a black man a chimp or a monkey is racist.

the point is, how about letting the guy be president and screw up before you label him an ass? yes, bush was taken to task, but there was reason: an unecessary war that cost the lives of thousands and thousands of people? budget surplus to record defecit? doubling of the debt? any of this ring a bell?

I called him a chimp because that's what all those idiots called W back in 2000. In fact, read carefully, my post could have been from 8 tears ago. Only the names have changed. And Bush was taken to task as soon as he won. You reap what you sow (or "sew" in BJ's case!) and the chickens will come home to roost. God DAMN Amerikkka!!!!

I wish I had seen good manners when Bush got elected. I don't mean from you, LJ.

I remeber how the winners reacted, it was not gracious here... nothing compared to how people who wanted Obama to win are celebrating today. Either you forgot or you don't remember, you took part in it too...
Do you know the saying; if nothing changes, nothing changes. It is best applied to a persons self awareness and how they treat others in life.
You spent most of Bush terms supporting him, bailing off the sinking boat late, and now you are talking about defending the incumbent, Obama, who is president elect... I don't even know what you're talking about, but you're full of shit, you're just making up random stuff. Republican policies and leaders have been rejected, strongly. It isn't b/c people are stupid, it is because they aren't stupid.
This is the time, when real patriots emerge, those who want to lead and go forward, and those who opposed them, doing what they said " County First".
Now we get to see who is real and who is fake.
Those who spend the next 4 yrs hating Obama and going after him like they Did Clinton or if they step up, and work on fixing our broken economy.

Bullshit. I didn't break the economy. You fix it. Get a job & do something. Buy American. Stop posting inanities on the internet. Serve your Prez! I meanwhile will cut back on spending & start saving. Depressions are never fun.

Them light beer hangovers are a bitch, eh?  Or so I hear, SomePooch  - I'm heterosexual and accordingly have never had a light beer in my life.

You know, I realized late last night, while I was contrasting McCain's extraordinarily sincere speech with Obam's pukehood (heavily borrowed I noted), that the guy I voted for Prez has not won since 1988.  I'm not sure exactly what to make of that.  Damn glad that the good lord saw fit to make me a drinker, though.

A dangerous inexperienced black marxist-stalinist is in the white house now. I bet his first move  will be to change USA's name to United Socialists States of America. USSA. Sounds nice Riffy, ain't it?  Grin

Oh please, the way socialism is defined nowadays depends on where one's from anyway. There's not that much 'left-thinking' with Obama, compared to left-wing parties in most European countries. When compared, he's quite a bit to right from the political center in Dutch terms for example.

No matter, I'm curious what he'll do, I like him from afar. Many people are gonna be ever so eager to blame him and his race for everything when his promised change (whatever that may be) isn't felt before Summer 2009 (which will be impossible).

There's no money. The (economic) power is transferring from the US to Asia. The middle East still hates the West. I wish him luck with that.  Let's go get drunk

You are correct.  I was very bitter about his Hillary bashing and his campaign.  But the specter of Sarah Palin and Obama's classy grace under Republican attack-dog pressure swung me around.  I changed my mind in early September.

Obviously, George Bush (the non-retard one, albeit the one with the defective sperm) and Bob Dole.  Neither man was to be, and frankly it was understandable given Clinton's skills.  Last night, on the other hand, makes almost as little sense to me as George Walker Bush III being elected in the first place.  WTF?  Isn't there a possibility, given the changing forces of time, that the feel-good guy you really, really want might not be the best guy at a particular time at least?  Wouldn't there be a time - I don't know, say a time when the nation was going bankrupt, turning fat and socialist, and was involved in two wars, when a fiscal conservative and experienced, dedicated military commander might come in useful?  Just maybe?  Does that make any sense?
