Sadly and wrongly their is still considerable racism in the US (more than fair amount at that). Although I am truly really surprised at how well Obama has come through all this negativity and won the nomination. However, don't rely on the polls. They mean nothing. Time and time again the Dems are supposed to clean house and then November comes and they lose the election.
I think if McCain holds his own, as to my surprise he did in the first debate, in these two next ones it may be enough to edge out Obama in the election.
The difference is this:
All 10 out of 10 Democrats will complain, say the country needs change, argue continuously for the democratic party and for their nominee and yet only 1/2 will actually register and then go ahead and vote (I know, when I chose the democratic nominee in the past I didn't vote once and there was nobody to blame but me for that. As a result I consciously made it a point not to complain for another four years. How could I? ..yet many Dems would).
All 10 out of 10 republicans will vote. In fact they will be there early volunteering their help at the booths.
I vote on the person and who surrounds them, their intentions, their and their close associates track records, and then take into consideration what my gut feeling tells me (the gut rarely, if ever lies as you all know

).
I don't vote on a particular party.
