Demi Lovato nearly crashes into Paul McCartney

Singer Demi Lovato was left speechless after nearly driving into Sir Paul McCartney on Monday.

The Skyscraper hitmaker couldn't believe her eyes when she spotted the Beatles legend in Los Angeles and nearly mowed him down with her car.

The excited star then took to her Twitter.com page to tell fans about the encounter with her hero.

She tweeted, "So today I was pulling into a parking space that some guys were standing in the middle of, and almost hit them.

"When one of the guys turned around it was a Beatle Yes, you heard me Sir Paul McCartney!!! He was so sweet!! Can't believe I met him today Wow! And I can't believe I almost ran over a Beatle!"

Uruguay under Macca's spell


Fans were rewarded for their four decade wait last night as Paul McCartney finally played Uruguay for the first time ever. Montevideo was brought to a standstill in the hours before the show, with local restaurants, cafes and bars blaring out Paul's music and fans gathering at the stadium before the gates opened in the hope of getting the best position inside. Many of them had travelled from across Uruguay to see Paul play nearly three hours of music on an immense 80ft stage, with an incredible set list that spanned his entire career from The Beatles to 'My Valentine' from his latest solo album 'Kisses On The Bottom'.

Sir Paul McCartney Gets By With A Little Help... From A Little Friend In Uruguay

I'll get by with a little help from a tiny friend... Sir Paul McCartney enlists the help of a two-year-old fan during a concert in Uruguay

His music has been called timeless, spanning across generations.

And Sir Paul McCartney certainly lived up to his reputation when he invited a two-year-old fan to play alongside him on stage at a recent gig.

The 69-year-old former Beatle spotted two-year-old, Ichiro, decked out in an impressive replica of the costumes worn by the Fab Four on their iconic Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts' Club album cover.

The blue military-style outfit is the same colour worn by Sir Paul on the cover, and little Ichiro finished the look with a replica Hofner bass guitar -- similar to the singer's own guitar.

Sir Paul opted for a more casual look of grey jeans, blue shirt and dark sunglasses, and he struck a pose alongside the two-year-old.

The boy had travelled from Argentina with his Beatles-mad parents to the aging rocker's latest concert in neighbouring Uruguay, South America.

Security guards spotted Ichiro, and his impressive outfit, during a sound check.

They informed Sir Paul, who insisted on bringing the child on stage for a jam together.

Whether Ichiro knew quite what was happening in unknown, but he attempted to play along on his guitar and pulling rockstar poses.

The pair played a version of The Beatle's 1969 number one hit, Get Back, in front of Ichiro's parents.

Father Pablo said: 'Ichiro was a fan even before he was born. This was an incredible moment. No one is bigger than Paul McCartney.'

The singer is embarking on a tour of South America, before jetting back to the UK for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

But before the latest leg of the tour begins, Sir Paul has been in Los Angeles with his wife Nancy Shevell last week.

They were celebrating the launch of Sir Paul's debut self-directed music video My Valentine which features Oscar winners Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman.

Other celebrities at the event staged at daughter Stella McCartney's West Hollywood boutique, included Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani, Woody Harrelson and Chris Martin.

Walking hand-in-hand throughout the evening, it was clear Sir Paul's new song was written for his third wife Miss Shevell, 51, who he wed last year.  "

Paul McCartney sees wealth soar by a third thanks to new wife

Sir Paul McCartney, already one of the world's richest musicians, increased his wealth by almost a third last year, thanks to his new wife.

Nancy Shevell brought a £150 million ($243 million) fortune to the marriage when the couple wed in October 2011. That is the value of her share in New England Motor Freight, the family haulage business in the United States led by her father. She is vice-president.

As a result, Sir Paul leapfrogged Lord Lloyd-Webber to reach third place on the Sunday Times Rich List of Music Millionaires, with his wealth rising from £495 million ($801 million) to £665 million ($1 billion) in the past year.

In addition to Miss Shevell's money, Sir Paul made £20 million ($32 million) through touring and album sales, according to the list.

The 69 year-old married the US heiress, his third wife, at Marylebone Register Office in London. It was there that he also wed his first wife, Linda Eastman, who died in 1998. His marriage to wife number two, Heather Mills, lasted from 2002 to 2008, and the divorce cost him £24.3 million ($39 million).

The widow of fellow Beatle George Harrison, Olivia, and their son, Dhani, with a joint fortune of £180 million ($292 million), were 13th on the list.

Ringo Starr, who reportedly has £160 million ($259 million), was 18th.

The number one spot on the list was retained by Clive Calder, the music industry tycoon, with £1.35 billion - a fortune made from the sale of his Zomba record label to BMG in 2002.

Sir Cameron Mackintosh, the theatrical producer, was in second place with £725 million, up from £675 million on the 2011 list.

Lord Lloyd-Webber was fourth with £590 million, down from £680 million. Simon Cowell, the television producer, reached number seven, with £225 million.

Also on the list were David and Victoria Beckham, who made £25 million last year, raising their fortune to £190 million.

The founder of Spotify, the online music streaming service, was the highest new entry on the Music Millionaires' Rich List, with a personal fortune of £190 million.

Daniel Ek was in joint 10th place on the Sunday Times list with Sir Mick Jagger. While it has taken the Rolling Stone, 68, a lifetime to amass such wealth, Mr Ek has managed it by the age of 29.

The Swedish entrepreneur founded Spotify in 2006 and it now has three million paying subscribers, having launched in the United States last year and announced a partnership with Facebook.

Users have access to millions of songs ­ according to the company, the catalogue is so vast it would take 80 years of non-stop listening to get through it all. Around 10,000 tracks are added each day.

The business is valued at £1.2 billion and Mr Ek's stake is worth £190 million - equivalent to the joint fortune of David and Victoria Beckham.

He was included on the list because he is partly based in London. His main office is in Stockholm.

Mr Ek began developing his talents at a young age. Given his first computer at five, he was soon writing basic codes. He started his first business at 14, setting up websites.

He dropped out of an engineering degree to focus on internet start-ups and was a millionaire by 23. Forbes magazine branded him "the most important man in music".

Paul McCartney made a surprise cameo on Thursday night's live episode of "30 Rock."

Paul McCartney came waltzing in at the beginning of the show when they (Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, etc.) were discussing their live TV show. Alec looked shocked that Paul was there. Paul asked to use the restroom and left through a door.

He later appeared at the end of the show saying that he had slipped and fallen and couldn't remember anything. Tina put her arm around Paul and told him that he was her boyfriend. They left the stage at that point.

He also appeared at the very end of the show when they ran the credits (just like on SNL). This episode was shown on the east coast.   "
