A conventional strike by Israel against Iran would be a complete waste of time . In
two years we will be RIGHT back where we started and Israel will have suffered enormously
as Iran and its allies wreak havoc throughout the world .

We ( The Jews ) must use nuclear weapons against Iran NOW !!!!!!!

Joey, why is jb jealous?

While fans have spotted U2's gear being moved out of the Hanover Quay studios, and other fans say that the band has been at Hanover in recent days, one thing's for sure: Bono is currently on vacation in Peru with the Hewson clan.

" Joey, what troubles jb??   "

The Following Sone Guy    ..................................................    the FOLLOWING  ( Here it  :
is in brother jb's own words  )  :

" This would never have got to this point with Begin (died 20 yrs ago March 9th) because:

Begin took Saddam Hussein's anti-Zionist threats seriously and therefore took aim at Iraq, which was building a nuclear reactor named Osirak or Tammuz 1 with French and Italian assistance. When Begin took office, preparations were intensified. Begin authorized the construction of a full-scale model of the Iraqi reactor which Israeli pilots could practice bombing.[31] Israel attempted to negotiate with France and Italy to cut off assistance and with the United States to obtain assurances that the program would be halted. The negotiations failed. Begin considered the diplomatic option fruitless, and worried that prolonging the attack would lead to a fatal inability to act in response to the perceived threat.
The decision to attack was hotly contested within Begin's government.[32] However, in October 1980, the Mossad informed Begin that the reactor would be fueled and operational by June 1981. This assessment was aided by reconnaissance photos supplied by the United States, and the Israeli cabinet voted to approve an attack.[33] In June 1981, Begin ordered the destruction of the reactor. On 7 June 1981, the Israeli Air Force destroyed the reactor in a successful long-range operation called Operation Opera.[34] Soon after, Begin enunciated what came to be known as the Begin doctrine: "On no account shall we permit an enemy to develop weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against the people of Israel." Many foreign governments, including the United States, condemned the operation, and the United Nations Security Council unanimously passed Resolution 487 condemning it. The Israeli left-wing opposition criticized it also at the time, but mainly for its timing relative to elections only three weeks later.  "

Still Buzzing on LA

"We're all still buzzing on the few days we spent in Los Angeles. We packed so much in and all of it was good quality stuff.

The day after I arrived in LA, I began rehearsals, with my band, for our appearances later in the week. Then, after a short drive across town, I went into rehearsals at the famous Capitol Recording Studios, with Diana Krall and her band, for the shows that were coming up later that week. It was great to get back with my guys and, as usual, we kicked around a lot of songs for the fun of it and eventually concentrated on the songs we knew that we were due to be performing. At that time, we had Magical Mystery Tour and Junior's Farm selected for the MusiCares show, which is an event that happens each year where somebody (it was me this year!) is designated MusiCares Person of the Year. We also concentrated on 1985 and Golden Slumbers which we would close the show with.

Later in the afternoon, over at Capitol A Studio, Tommy Lipuma and I selected a programme of songs that would be our set list for the iTunes streaming event, where we would play live in the studio before an invited audience and cameras would relay the show around the world via the internet.

At the same time as all this, I was able to enjoy some good leisure time with the Mrs. On Thursday afternoon I was also being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was particularly nice because the other three Beatles already had theirs there. Mine was next to them and would complete the foursome. Interestingly enough, the four of us are right next to Buddy Holly, who was a great influence on us when we started the band.

On hand to introduce me was the ever-great Neil Young, who followed the introductions made by Hollywood council members with his own inimitable intro. Neil was due to play at the MusiCares event. The format of the show has special guest artists performing the songs of the Person of the Year in their own style and I had heard that Neil was due to do All My Loving.

I was intrigued to hear his arrangement of that song but, at the Walk of Fame do, he told me that they had tried it but thought it was too hard and, as it didn't sound good, they decided to do I Saw Her Standing There instead. During conversation, I happened to mention to him a fond memory of mine, which was that the original lyrics had been "She was just 17, Never been a beauty queen", which John and I winced at and changed to "You know what I mean", and we laughed about this. Neil's intro was great and the crowd gave great feedback during the whole ceremony.

After that, we went into Capitol Studios and got ready for the iTunes stream. During the recording of Kisses On The Bottom, it had been such fun working with great musicians like Diana and her band and now, for this event, we were being joined by my friend, Joe Walsh, who had agreed to play Eric Clapton's part on My Valentine and Get Yourself Another Fool because Eric was on holiday with his family at the time, and couldn't do it.

The event was really exciting, if a little nerve-wracking, but the atmosphere in the studio was super cool and all of us really enjoyed ourselves, as those of you who saw the streaming may have picked up! The show was also being made into a longer programme using interviews and B-roll footage and different camera angles so I'm looking forward to seeing that.

The next night was Friday and the night of the MusiCares Person of the Year event. We were all excited about being at rehearsals and seeing the other acts rehearse their own contributions. Cirque de Soleil did an amazing opening segment and, after rehearsing our own songs, we decided it would be a good idea to extend the end of Golden Slumbers to include Joe Walsh. This led to the thought that Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, who was also on the show, may like to join in. So now there was me, Rusty, Brian, Joe and Dave lined up for the end guitar jam. The show was fantastic, with a number of great acts appearing, and I was quite overwhelmed hearing my songs done by these great artists and, at the same time, being honoured by this great charity, MusiCares. The artists include Foo Fighters, Tony Bennett, Coldplay, Norah Jones, James Taylor, Diana Krall, Duane Eddie, Alison Krauss (whose version of No More Lonely Nights blew our minds) and Neil Young (as mentioned before, Neil played I Saw Her Standing There but, after our brief conversation about the song, he decided, cheekily, to go back to the old original lyrics that John and I altered so, for probably the only time ever, the song began, "She was just 17, Never been a beauty queen!")

Next day we had a day off so, even though we were packing the work in, there was a chance to catch our breath before The Grammy's. All we had to do on the Saturday was a quick rehearsal for the following day at the Staples Center, where the show would take place. Again, it was a great show to be on. This year had a particularly good line up of performers, some of whom we would get a chance to watch rehearsing. They included Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Foo Fighters, Glen Campbell, Coldplay, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and The Beach Boys!

I was due to do My Valentine with Diana, and her band, and Joe on lead guitar and then we were scheduled to close the show and I had suggested 1985 as a closer but, at rehearsals that evening, Abe and my Manager, Scott, had been talking about things and, when Abe realised that we were closing the whole show, he put forward the suggestion that it would be better to have a number like Golden Slumbers to close with. Nancy mentioned this later in the car and I immediately rang everyone and said this was a much better idea than mine and we should go ahead with it. The producer, Ken Erhlich, had been too polite to tell me he didn't think 1985 would be the ideal closing song so, when he heard we were changing it to Golden Slumbers and the guitar jam, he was overjoyed.

As Bruce Springsteen was opening the Grammy's this year, with his band, it seemed like a good idea to ask him if he would like to be part of the guitar jam which we would close the whole show with. Even though it came at such short notice, Bruce agreed to do it so we now had me, Rusty, Brian, Joe, Dave and Bruce in our heroic line-up.

The show went great and had higher ratings than ever before which everyone was pleased about and we had a great night out doing first My Valentine and then Golden Slumbers to close the show and, in between, getting a chance to watch many of the performances by the many great artists on the bill. So now you see why we're still buzzing with memories of our trip to LA (and I didn't even get to mention the aftershow party!)"

Paul.  "

Macca planning concerts in South America for May

The Uruguayan newspaper "El Pais" has reported that Paul McCartney's people are checking out venues in Cordoba (Centenario Stadium for around May 5th), Montevideo, Rosario, Bogata and Buenos Aires for possible concerts in May.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 3, 2012 -- Daily Mail (UK)

Here comes the Son: Paul McCartney's daughters have embraced the limelight now his 34-year-old son steps out of the shadow

For a virtual unknown, being granted the star spot on America's hugely popular David Letterman Show to launch his debut single was a terrific coup. But though the young singer's demeanour was a little stiff and shy, his talent shone out.

The powerful voice, the huge vocal range, the accomplished guitar work all commanded attention, as did something familiar about the round, boyish face and mournful, hooded eyes.

At the age of 34, Paul McCartney's only son had finally, and a little reluctantly, stepped on to the public stage to claim his place as heir apparent to Sir Paul.

But if the eyes and the talent are unmistakable, that is where the resemblance ends. For while Sir Paul has spent a lifetime charming everyone he meets, his son has been withdrawn to the point of being a virtual recluse.

Until now. Suddenly McCartney Junior is everywhere - in the past month alone performing at the Sundance Film Festival, the Viper Room in Los Angeles, Rockwood Music Hall in New York and Asbury Park in New Jersey.

On each occasion, crowds were queuing round the block for tickets to watch a singer-songwriter with a non-existent track record and public profile (such are the colossal benefits of the McCartney name).

Though the music is highly accomplished, James's delivery is deadpan, emphasising that while he may have high hopes for his debut single, Angel, he is clearly not your average aspiring rock star. The doleful gaze and legendary name may be unmistakable, but the reality is that James has spent his entire life running away from fame.

His older sisters have become fixtures in London society - Mary, 42, as a respected photographer and 40-year-old Stella as a leading fashion designer. His half-sister Heather, 49, is a successful potter.

But James, known as 'the quiet one' of the McCartney children, has remained in the shadows.

Painfully shy, for years he struggled to carve out a niche for himself, working as a sculptor and waiting tables at a small restaurant in Brighton.

No longer. To the astonishment of those who have known him since childhood, James has suddenly stepped into the spotlight.

After leaving Letterman's New York studio, he flew straight to Los Angeles for the unveiling of Sir Paul's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. From there, he jetted home to London, where he posed for photographers outside sister Stella's gala London Fashion Week dinner.

Quite a departure for a young man who once declined to tell people his surname.

Next up is a tour of London, Liverpool and Dublin, where he is assured of packed houses.

'This would have been unthinkable a couple of years ago,' a long-standing friend of the McCartneys told me this week.

'James has always been a unique kid. He's what I've always called a "watcher". He's a lovely guy without a nasty bone in his body, but he prefers to be on the sidelines taking everything in. He's always hated being the centre of attention.

'But at the same time, he absolutely loves music. All he really wants is for people to hear his songs, and the only way to do that is to go out there and play.

'So you have this conflict between the two sides of his personality. I never thought he would pluck up the courage to do this. It's really quite thrilling that he has - and a lot of the credit has to go to Nancy.'

Nancy Shevell, to be precise. Sir Paul's third wife, whom he married in October after a four-year courtship. She is described by his friends as the polar opposite of Heather Mills, his previous wife, a relationship that ended in a famously bitter and acrimonious divorce.

It is an open secret that James couldn't stand his first stepmother. When the forceful Heather moved into the family farmhouse in East Sussex, he moved out, renting a room in a shared house in nearby Brighton.

Since the arrival of the supportive Nancy, however, he has slowly gained confidence, to the point where he is finally embarking on the career he dreamed of for so long.

'Nancy is everything Heather wasn't,' says the family friend. 'She is just like James's mum, Linda. She's quiet, thoughtful and kind in a gentle way.

'Heather tried really hard to make the children like her, but she's way too bombastic and noisy for them. James positively despised her and he never made a secret of that. He was always withdrawn, but having Heather around just made things worse.

Nancy has taken a totally different approach. She's been so encouraging and she has really brought James out of himself.

'James was best man when Paul and Nancy got married, and less than a month later he did a mini-tour of the UK - that tells you everything you need to know.'

James's entire life has been profoundly influenced by the matriarchal presences in it.

His first two-and-a-half years were spent on the road with Paul and his mother, Linda, as they toured with their group Wings.

The baby of the family, he arrived at the tail end of his parents' bohemian hippie existence, spending the bulk of his childhood on the family's farm in Peasmarsh, East Sussex.

A Thirties farmhouse with no gas supply, it was the centre of an unexpectedly basic life for a rock star's family. Summers were spent piling into a Land Rover to drive up to Paul's holiday home by the Mull of Kintyre.

It was there, when he was six years old, that one of the definitive moments of his childhood unfolded. A ransom plot to snatch James and his mother was uncovered. After the kidnappers were captured and jailed, Paul insisted on ramping up his family's security.

The McCartneys tried to ensure their children had as 'normal' a childhood as possible by sending them to the local comprehensive.

But how normal is it to have Paul and Linda McCartney as your parents? asks the family friend.

Their intentions were good, but they babied James and he's always been an unusual character.

Always close, the bond between father and son intensified following Linda's death from breast cancer in 1998. They even slept in the same room for comfort in the weeks after her death.

Amid the tears, there were long, emotional jamming sessions, with James demonstrating beyond any doubt that he had become an accomplished guitarist. Quietly, behind the scenes, he embarked on his own musical path.

James played guitar on two of his father's records -- Flaming Pie and Driving Rain -- and had recorded a track, The Light Comes From Within, with Linda a month before her death.

But then came the setback of Paul's ill-fated marriage to Heather Mills. James moved to Brighton, claiming to study architecture, though it is widely thought he was really a music student and used the cover story to avoid comparisons with his father. It is a tribute to how low a profile he maintained that no one seems quite sure of the truth.

Then came his stint as a waiter, followed by a short-lived custom-made bed business, and eventually he decided to go travelling.

All the while he was quietly making music. His unlikely inspiration was Kurt Cobain, the tragic heroin-addicted lead singer of Nirvana who committed suicide. As James s sister Stella said when he was still in his late 20s: He s at the stage where he s standing back and saying: Will this create a monster?

It was only after his father split with Heather Mills in 2006 that James found the courage to follow his dream.

He moved out of his student digs and into a £1 million flat near his father s North London house. After accompanying his father's band on tour, in 2008 he started working on his own music, assisted by Paul and record producer David Kahne.

Getting to the point where James was ready to perform in public took even longer. Encouraged by Nancy Shevell, he played a handful of shows anonymously, with a backing band, under the name Light.

His shows, while musically impeccable and demonstrating James's accomplishment on the guitar and piano, draw mixed reviews because of his lack of showmanship.

As one New York reviewer said of his Rockwood show this month, James rarely smiled and, at times, looked like he was fighting an impulse to flee . And, say friends, that s probably true.

Everything James does is compared to his father s achievements, which is monumentally unfair. But he knows this and he's relaxed enough to make jokes about it. It informs his music.

Indeed, throughout his performances and on his debut record, one cover version has cropped up time and again: the Neil Young classic Old Man.

Delivered in James s pure tenor, the vocals take on a hypnotic tone as he sings, with unmistakable feeling: Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you.

As a message to his father, it is open and heartfelt. Given the massive shadow in which he stands, many would raise a wry smile at the sentiment.

And, whisper it quietly, but this may just be the year when the talented McCartney Junior steps out of that shadow at last. "

" Virtually every expert on the Middle East believes that Iran will use a nuclear weapon if it is able to gain one. " There is a wise axiom, "Do not take the smallest chance of a catastrophic outcome." " Israel "

" The narrative Israel seeks to project is of a country that feels increasingly existentially threatened, one barely able to keep itself from carrying out an airstrike on Iran’s nuclear reactors. This, of course, is the perception Israel has sought to create at varying levels of intensity during much of the past several years. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak was in Washington this week, ahead of a planned visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is scheduled to arrive March 5. A leak published Wednesday in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz claimed that Netanyahu planned to demand in a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama that he get on board with an Israeli-approved series of red lines on Iran. Were Tehran to cross them, Netanyahu’s demand allegedly went, the United States would publicly agree to work with Israel on a strike against Iranian nuclear facilities.

Someone from the Netanyahu government likely issued the leak to Haaretz to help solidify the perception that Israel desperately wants to take action against Iran. The reality -- as U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey pointed out in late February -- is that the Israeli military lacks the capability to conduct a successful operation on its own. Israel could always launch the first strike, but it would be betting that the United States would come to its defense and finish the job, especially if Iran resorted to mining the Strait of Hormuz. Seeing how Israel cannot afford to lose American support, this is a big bet. Israel cannot miscalculate on this assumption, and this significantly constrains its ability to act.

" The United States "

The United States has little appetite for a war with Iran right now, for a variety of reasons. For one, the specter of a conflict in the Persian Gulf sending crude prices skyrocketing is unappealing, especially as Obama campaigns for re-election. Washington, however, also has a strategic interest in stemming the spread of Iranian power. It will therefore keep its military options on the table, while remaining open to the prospect of negotiations with Tehran as a means to keep tensions from escalating.

Washington is seeking to spread the perception that a war with Iran right now is simply not worth the cost. Its publicly stated intelligence assessments do not put Tehran close to obtaining a deliverable nuclear device with which it can threaten its neighbors, sapping the sense of urgency for any action. The United States has recently sought to dampen public support for military action by creating the expectation that such a move would increase the risk for Iranian retaliation elsewhere on the globe. The day after Haaretz published the report on Netanyahu’s planned ultimatum to Obama, a report in The New York Times -- a publication known to be a favored target for leaks from the current administration -- stated that participating in a strike on Iran would generate retaliatory actions abroad that would likely target U.S. citizens.

More than anything, however, Washington is wary of the war's impact on the price of oil. That edginess plays directly into Iran’s hands when considering the perception Tehran wants to create.

Iran

Iran shares Washington's primary goal: to popularize the notion that attacking Iran isn’t worth the cost. Iran uses the threat of retaliation as a foreign policy strategy unto itself, articulated by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and clarified in recent comments made by IRGC Commander Mohammed Ali Aziz Jaafari. Jaafari told state media that Iran had “entered a new phase and now it is our threats which are affecting the enemy.”

Iran’s biggest leverage to deter an attack is its ability to impact the price of oil on global markets. Its most obvious card is the Strait of Hormuz. Merely threatening to mine the Strait has in the past been enough to dominate world headlines. Iran is extremely reluctant to use this card, of course, because once played, it cannot be played again -- it is Iran's so-called “nuclear option.”

Iran of course can do more than issue threats. Its formidable land army can project power beyond its borders; it has covert capabilities in eastern Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and -- though proven rather ineffective in recent instances -- in Asia as well. But its main deterrent is Tehran's ability to impact the price of oil in its own backyard, something that Thursday’s incident in Saudi Arabia proved effectively.  "

Macca's Eurostar nightmare: Sir Paul stranded on broken-down train for six hours after watching daughter Stella's Paris Fashion Week show

Beatles legend was stuck on train with wife Nancy Shevell and fashion designer daughter Stella
Sir Paul 'laughed and joked' with passengers and signed dozens of autographs

Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney was among the thousands of Eurostar passengers caught up in massive delays on the London to Paris rail route.

Sir Paul was stuck on a broken-down train for six hours with his 51-year-old wife, Nancy Shevell, and daughter Stella, as they returned to Britain after attending Paris Fashion Week.

The rock star, who was returning to the capital on Monday night after watching 40-year-old fashion designer Stella's show, found himself stranded in the French countryside after heavy snow caused a power cable to collapse.

Far from being enraged by the 'vile' conditions on board, the 69-year-old 'laughed and joked' with passengers in his carriage and signed dozens of autographs, it was reported.

A source told the Mirror: 'It was a pretty hideous situation but Sir Paul was on fine form.

'He had a laugh and a joke as he chatted with the passengers in his cabin and he signed dozens of autographs.

'He was more than happy to muck in and try to keep everyone's spirits up despite the vile conditions.

'He's not prone to diva tantrums. He understands that these things can happen.'

Sir Paul was just one of thousands of travellers caught up in the cross-Channel rail chaos.

Eurostar passengers - including catwalk models - yesterday told of their 'hellish' journeys after a faulty with an overhead power cable delayed services by up to 11 hours.

Those travelling between London and Paris were worst hit, with some stranded in the Channel Tunnel without food or light.

Others said they arrived in the French capital at 1am with no hotel room, but the only accommodation made available to them was in a stationary train.

Last night Eurostar cancelled four trains and slowed the rest and today another four trains were cancelled.

Poppy Delevingne, the 24-year-old Vogue cover girl, told her 10,000 followers she was 'deliriously tired' after her disrupted journey to Paris fashion week.

Laura Bailey, the 39-year-old former face of Marks & Spencer, used her account on the social networking site Twitter to say: 'Love affair with Eurostar officially over. Love affair with Paris will never die.'

Designer Henry Holland was less optimistic, writing simply: 'Eurostar DISASTER'.

Meanwhile, Sophia Abdel, a 19-year-old student, said: 'I got to London at midnight after 10 hours and 23 minutes on the train. I was mad, tired and annoyed.

'On the train there was no electricity, no food, it was dark. I just had to sit and wait. The staff didn't do anything. I was supposed to be in London for study reasons but I'm going back to Paris today because I just want to be in my home.'

Kandy Woodfield, who travelled on the same train to London described the journey as 'hellish', adding: 'The bar has made an absolute killing. I think it is terrible. There are elderly people and young children on board.'

Hundreds of exhausted passengers were given emergency accommodation on two TGV trains when they finally reached Paris so they could rest after missing their connections.

Laurent Girard, who was on his way to the Alps with friends, said: 'It's pretty depressing spending 10 hours on a train and then being told you can rest in another train. None of us got any sleep at all - it was awful. We're all completely sick of trains now.

It is not the first time that world-famous models have suffered ordeals on the Eurostar.

In 2009 London-based German star Claudia Schiffer was among thousands left without food, water, lighting or air conditioning in the Channel Tunnel.

But while others were left stranded, a car was sent to pick Ms Schiffer up from the entrance of the tunnel after she was escorted there by staff.

A spokesman for the Gare du Nord in the French capital confirmed that two TGVs were made available for people to sleep in.

'We didn't get in to Paris until 1.30am and so were put on train to sleep,' said Mike Adams, 43, who was on his way to a skiing holiday in the Alps.

'There were a lot of others in the same position as us we were completely stranded without hotel rooms,' said Mr Adams.

'The French put on heated trains, giving us blankets and some packed dinners. We didn't sleep much, but others seemed to get their heads down. When staff arrived to clean the trains at around 5am we all had to get off.'

Laurent Girard, who was also on his way to the Alps with a group of friends, said: 'It's pretty depressing spending 10 hours on a train and then being told you can rest in another train.

'None of us got any sleep at all it was awful. We're all completely sick of trains now.'

The Gare du Nord spokesman said hotel rooms were originally made available to families with children, but 'soon ran out'.

Instead two TGV high speed trains became temporary dormitories for the stranded.

A Eurostar spokeswoman confirmed that the delays were all caused by an EDF power cable which collapsed in the snow.

She said: 'The good news is everything is running as normal this morning. We are not expecting more problems with the power cable.

'There was quite a severe impact on train services and we were doing everything we could to keep the train moving but it wasn't something that was in our control.

'Our trains do carry supplies for this kind of thing so they would have been given some sort of refreshment but it wasn't going to be the most comfortable journey. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.'

March 7, 2012 -- Culture Map Houston
A Beatle on board

John and Becca Cason Thrash were beside themselves over the weekend when they realized that they were traveling in the same Eurostar high-speed train car as Paul McCartney, his wife and three grandchildren.

Becca emailed from the scene that Sir Paul "was just hangin' with them, reading books and laughing. Very cool guy, indeed!" Yes, even Becca can be star struck.

The Cason Thrashes had met McCartney at Phillips de Pury auction house on a previous trip to London. They bought four photographs taken by his late wife Linda Eastman McCartney.  "
