Do any of you ever-present, perpetual geeks know that this lame thread actually pays homage, in some ways, to a fem-precious, illiterate twit?  He was really fat and stupid too, and it was apparent he self-hated his swarthiness.  Check the archives.  Check them often.  The truth is there.

He wasn't a political troll, and didn't menstruate with the heavy flow of glencar, but he sure was a bitchy little Zionist scab, wasn't he?  Admit it.  Admit it, now.  Admit what you must know is true, bitches.  Then feel the shame of 183 pages of useless posting.

1. "Lemon"

For me, “Lemon” is one of U2’s true masterpieces, a glorious example of just how creative and yet coherent they can be, and Bono’s falsetto is a big part of its success. He’s not using it to be innocent or sleazy, but just because it works so perfectly in the song. Granted, the song was inspired by an old movie of his mother so it would be easy to imagine him singing it as a child, but there are sexual elements as well which complicate things, a la “Original Of The Species.” Regardless, the contrast between the falsetto acting as id and lecturing Edge/Eno voices acting as ego are about as potent a vocal contrast as has ever shown up in a U2 song. There are times when I wish this song was performed live more often. I actually wish this pretty much on a daily basis. I think the big concern is: Can Bono still pull it off with how his voice has changed? The follow-up is: How would it sound if Bono sang it an octave lower? Would that diminish the impact of the song? Of all my U2 questions, this is one of the biggest. In the end, I think I’d want to see it performed even an octave lower, but man oh man, to see it in its full splendor ... there’s no live song I want to see more than this by any artist.

Why is this thread here?  He must be behind it.  No way something this fucking gay could sustain itself.  Way to go, glory boy.  You'll always be my half back at J.U., man!

" September 4, 2011 -- Wesh.com

A rock-and-roll legend was in Central Florida on Thursday.

The Beatles band member Paul McCartney was seen in Winter Park on the campus of Rollins College and on Park Avenue.

McCartney wasn't on the campus of Rollins College for long. The school wouldn't comment on what he was doing there or how long he spent on campus.

But McCartney did spend some time dining on Park Avenue. The tables and booths at Luma on Park looked pretty much the same except for something special about one tucked in the corner.

Table No. 40 as it is known by the staff will now be known as the spot Paul McCartney sat and quietly dined with a group of friends.

"It was really cool to see someone like him in person," Luma General Manager Tim Noelke said.

Noelke wouldn't give up too many secrets about the surprise McCartney visit. He was part of a 7 p.m. dinner reservation for nine people, including his fiancee Nancy Shevell.

"They kind of did a family style at the table. They did a lot of pizzas and pastas and salads, and they all just kind of shared," Noelke said.

McCartney didn't go unnoticed. People who passed the restaurant tried to catch a glimpse.

There were no photos or autographs for the Luma staff, but there was a quick thanks.

"At the end of his dinner, he did come up, shook his hand and told me what a great experience he had and thanked me. I thanked him, and then he left," Noelke said.

When he left, restaurant staff said he was greeted by a small crowd outside the restaurant. He apparently didn't sign autographs, but waved quickly before getting into a car.

The restaurant wouldn't say how much McCartney and his party spent on the meal.

Bono: U2 Won't Be Back For A While
Bono decides it's time to take a breather after rigorous world tour leaves him in need of some rock star rest.
Metro, September 07, 2011
By: Andrei Harmsworth

Bono says it was heart-wrenching to wave goodbye to U2's 110-date monster tour but says he's done with life on the road... for a while.

In a rare interview with Guilty Pleasures, the singer lifted the lid on the Irish band's two-year 360° Tour during an evening when he was hounded and rounded on by other stars at the GQ Men of the Year Awards.

Pining for his travels across five continents, the charity campaigner told me: 'They say every tour is ten days too long. Not with this one. We genuinely loved every single night and at the end we were so sad.'

Despite the nostalgia, the 51-year-old says he needs a breather and says the Joshua Tree rockers won't be back 'for a while.'

He earlier told the audience: 'Growing up is not what is meant to happen to a rock band. It has happened, we are now men.'

He then apologised for the absence of 49-year-old drummer Larry Mullen Jr, who opted to skip the bash. 'He hasn't aged very well,' he joked. 'He tries to avoid the red carpet.' Bono was also forced to laugh off the jibes from comedian Michael McIntyre, who taunted him: 'Bono, when it comes to coolness you always have the edge.'

He then asked the Dubliner if he had watched Simon Cowell’s new Red or Black? TV show and quipped: 'Bono you would have been dealing with peace.'

Kylie was the next to single him out when she went on stage to present an award and treated Bono like a roadie by asking him to adjust the height of her microphone.

Even his own camp turned on him, when U2 guitarist The Edge mocked him for stealing all the limelight.

Hoping for some of the attention himself, the 50-year-old told the crowd: 'I am a middle child. I am in a band with Bono. If there are any members of the print media here, please hack into my phone.'

Joey, jb's got this kind of scratch in the ashtray of his car.

Back in June, Paul McGuinness told Rolling Stone, "If you pile a lot of extra material and packaging and design work into a super-duper box set, there are people who will pay quite a lot for it, so you can budget it at a very high level and pump up the value." As the saying goes, he put his money where his mouth is with the Achtung Baby Uber Deluxe version currently sitting at over $660.00 USD on Amazon’s site.

What's driving me stark raving crazy about this is who the pricing is hurting. It seems to me that the band understands that, for the most part, it is the dedicated fans who will stand in line all day to see them play live via a general admission ticket. They acknowledge this by making those tickets the cheapest available. I could be off here, but it seems to me that these uber-dedicated fans are also the same fans that would be most likely to purchase the uber-deluxe version of this release, yet it is this group who is getting price gouged for considering this version of the release. The dichotomy of these two business models is not lost on me.

When you add in that the band chose to open up their Glastonbury set as an advertisement for this box set (I hope they wrote off the cost of the show as an advertising expense), I've taken about as much as I can take from the U2 marketing machine for now. I'm waiting for MacPhisto to show up soon on my television hawking this set for the "save-your-soul" price of only $666.

I must be an acrobat
To talk like this
And act like that

As for me, I'm looking at getting the double-disk release, but only under two conditions. The first condition is that it is actually remastered. We've heard nothing official so far on that front, but my guess is that they are holding back on some of the good news in order to revive those of us who fainted upon seeing the prices they are asking for this. The second condition is that the remaster isn't horribly compressed and/or somehow is of a lesser quality that the original release. Re-releases should be a time when the band can get off the loudness war merry-go-round and actually let us hear something in a manner that is actually ... well ... musical. Come on, boys. It's not like landing a man on the moon!
