" I knew she would meet her connection"

" Great Fucking Security, GREAT FUCKING BAND! "
" Pete gave Simon a kiss when he came on the stage. Wow, what a moment!
Best version of NE I've ever witnessed, Tattoo, what can I say but
fucking brilliant!!! Great interaction with Pete, Roger, me, and
others when they decided to play it. I believe it was right after
Fragments that I yelled "do the whole fucking album!!" Everyone's
yelling for songs, and Pete says something like "oh it's it's request
night," and people are yelling out I'm a farmer, and someone yelled
out some stones song, and a host of others. Someone yells out
"Bellboy!" And Pete says "oh fucking fine, we'll just bring Keith Moon
Back to sing Bell Boy." and I yell "then do "My Wife." And Pete looks
down, and says "yeah, that would be equally (something.) Then Pete
says, as he points down to the set list, "it's written in stone, I actually have a stone tablet."
Pete then says, I do all those songs solo, I could actually do every song in my catalog, but it would take
me six week (or six months, or some extended amount of time.) He goes
on to say that we will actually be shocked by a couple of the songs on
the list. Then someone yells out something and Pete says, "yeah, you
would be shocked if we did that." So this goes on for such a wonderful
amount of time, and Pete looks over to Roger and says, "so what were
we going to play?" And Roger says, "Tattoo if you want." (Or something
like that.) So Pete takes off his guitar, walks off to the side, Alan
meets with another guitar, and just before he begins the song, Simon
is yelling something, and there's a bit of commotion, and Pete or
Roger say something to us like "they can't do it in this key." Meaning
that the guitar Pete had was not going to work for Simon and maybe
others. So Pete takes off the guitar, and is saying something about
the whole situation, and I'm thinking that they're going to blow off
Tattoo, so as Pete finishes what he's saying, I yell, "JUST FUCKING DO
IT!" He stops, looks at me and says, "You've come a long way, from
Japan, with a big fucking gob!" So Duke yells back at Pete, "he didn't
go to Japan, I did, and I'm quiet." So Pete says to me, well if you
didn't go to Japan, then you shouldn't even be here, you have to have
done the whole thing. It's actually a better deal if you get an around
the world ticket, and start in NY. Then there was another little bit
where I said something, and Pete says, "you little shit!" I forgot
what it was, then I remembered it on the way home, and now I forgot it
again. But Pete gave one of those great "I'm only fucking with you"
smiles right after he said it.
Then there was the couple I met on my way back from the toilet before
the show, and we hit it off for a few minutes in conversation, and
they asked if they could come with me back to the rail, and I said
something about it's a rough bunch up there, and I went back to my
spot. So, the next thing I notice the couple wind up on the rail about
a half hour later, and were high fiveing, and the whole bit. At some
point a bit later, Pete points over, and says, "you've fucking made
it, you're here!!" And I look, and he's pointing to the the bloke that
made it to the rail. Then his Wife yells, I'm his wife, and Pete says,
"don't worry you'll be all right." and cracks himself up with that
comment. It was a funny fucking moment, as the guy truly was a
character! So then Roger says something like, Oh he'll fuck you
anyway" or something equally as rude, and Pete and everyone just
fucking cracks up, and wooooo, and I'm yelling Rachel! Rachel! Pete
looks at Roger and one of them says, "hey this is like the old days."
I have no idea where Pete knew him from.
Anyway, as you may have guessed, it was a hot night for music, and
great fucking PETE/Roger banter. I'm looking forward to that recording!
I'm too tired to read what I just wrote, so I'm sorry if it rambles on
and on, making little sense.
It was so great to see all our wonderful friends in the line and in
the front row. It so equally about the community! What a great fucking
night, I'm so ready to get up and do it again!
Love,
ozzie "
