" John Lennon was producing Harry Nilsson's album Pussy Cats in Los Angeles (1974). Paul McCartney visited John Lennon and joined in a jam session with John for the first time in the studio since the split of The Beatles. At John's Santa Monica beach house, the two Beatles were relaxing with Keith Moon & May Pang by the swimmimg pool when this picture was taken. It is the last ever photograph of Lennon and McCartney together.  "

You think McCartney wrote "COOL LYRICS ?" This NO-TALENT, ASS FRAUD writes NURSURY RHYMES right out of SESAME STREET. If this arrogant asshole never had anything to do with he BEATLES, he would be writing LA-LA-LA songs for BARNEY, the kid's show. You'd see a fat purple dinosaur prancing around singing on McCartneys crap. The CIA should use McCartney songs as torture to get information out of spies. Crazy glue headphones on a guy's ears who is duct taped in a chair and play BAND ON THE RUN over and over again. He'll spill their guts pronto ! McCartney is right up there with that other "musical genius", RINGO...who ACTUALLY DID host a kiddie show about a stupid train. So there you go. You'd have to PAY ME to go to a McCartney NON-concert. I'm nauseous ! ....

sadly, jb now belongs to a group of Rolling Stones fanatics who travel all over for parties where only music from the Rolling Stones is played.

All is quiet on the tour news front, unless you happen to be the president of the company that helps fly U2 all around North America in the 360 jet. His name is Chris Healy, and he did this interview (below) last week with AnnArbor.com about the company's services and work with U2. While you ooh and ahh at the shots inside the band's jet, pay close attention to what he says at about the 1:10 mark:

No, not the Bow-know reference ... the part after that when he says, "we'd expect to fly it ... in the spring, when the North American tour has been rescheduled."

So, I learned in elementary school that "has been" is the past tense meaning something has already happened -- as in, the tour has already been rescheduled. But why haven't we heard anything? If U2/Live Nation is holding off on re-announcing new tour dates for some reason, it makes sense that this guy would know at least the general time frame because Live Nation would've wanted his company to keep a range of dates clear to fly U2 around the country. He may not know exact dates yet, but I don't doubt he knows the general timeframe.

There was also this report in The Sun last week, which said new dates "will be announced this week." They got that wrong, but if you put both things together, is it unreasonable to think there might be an announcement soon? I sure hope not. I'm ready to see what the plan is. And I'm ready to see some more shows (says the guy who thought he'd be standing inside Qwest Field tonight instead of writing OTR

Paul Sells Out Wachovia Center In Record Time, Two Minutes.

By Overwhelming Demand, A Second Show Has Now Been Added On August 15th 2010.

Tickets For Newly Added Show Are On Sale Now Direct From PaulMcCartney.com click here

or via Comcasttix.com

Tickets to see Paul's triumphant return to perform live at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA, on August 14, as part of the Up and Coming Tour, sold out in two minutes, the fastest sell out ever at the Wachovia Center.

By overwhelming popular demand, a second show has been added for Sunday, August 15 at the Wachovia Center and tickets immediately went on sale exclusively through ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200 and at the Wachovia Center box office.

"This is the fastest sell-out we've ever had for a concert at the Wachovia Center since we opened the arena in August of 1996," said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko. "This record-breaking sell-out is a true testament to the timeless qualities of Paul McCartney's talents that have entertained music fans in Philadelphia for the better part of nearly five decades."

"It is clear by the response from Philadelphia music fans that Paul McCartney is hot and one show is not enough," said Live Nation President Geoff Gordon. "You've heard the term 'as fast as we could print them,' with this show the ink didn't even have a chance to dry! We're very fortunate that Sir Paul McCartney will now play two shows in Philadelphia this summer - which is one of only two stops in the North East corridor of the United States."

Philadelphia is one of only two cities on the east coast that Paul will visit on the Up and Coming Tour.

In keeping with his headline-making special concerts over the last few years, the tour, which has broken ticket selling records in several other cities, will see the iconic star and his band play unique venues, places and locations; new cities he's never played and familiar markets he's not visited for a while.

Paul last performed at the Wachovia Center on September 22-23, 2005.

Paul's new tour will feature a typically diverse set list, drawing on two hours plus worth of selections spanning the catalogues of The Beatles, Wings and Paul's solo career - including tracks from The Fireman's 2008 album 'Electric Arguments'. Recent Up and Coming shows have featured never-before-played-on-US-soil songs added to the set list, such as "Ob La Di Ob La Da" as well as other gems dusted off from the extensive and legendary Beatles, Wings and his own solo canon.

The Arizona and California dates in March were Paul's first US shows since his five - week Summer Live '09 tour last year, which was prefaced by a triumphant sold out headline set at the 2009 Coachella festival and a surprise performance for the Late Show with David Letterman on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater (inside which The Beatles made TV history decades ago) that drew throngs packing Broadway from Columbus Circle to Times Square. PAUL McCARTNEY PERSUADES QUEEN TO LIFT PYROTECHNICS BAN

Sir Paul McCartney will be getting the royal treatment at Hard Rock Calling this weekend.

The Beatles legend has got permission from The Queen to break a ban on pyrotechnics in London's Hyde Park.

Sir Paul, who sang "Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl" on Abbey Road, closes the three-day festival, which is part of the Hard Rock Ambassadors Of Rock tour, on Sunday.

A source revealed: "As Hyde Park is underneath a flight path, pyrotechnics are usually banned from any concerts held there.

"The Queen herself is the only person who can change that rule, so clearly she's a Macca fan.

"She has agreed to let him blast off some impressive pyros during Helter Skelter."

The Windsors clearly have good taste in music as Prince Harry, 25, is a regular at HRC.

Last year he hung out with Sir Tom Jones, 70, in the backstage VIP cafι scoffing one of their legendary burgers.

However, this time in the artists' catering area the only burgers being served up will be Linda McCartney veggie ones.

My source continued: "Sir Paul has requested the artist area goes veggie all day on Sunday and adds Linda's range to the menu."He will also be bringing in his own staff to run the food side of things."

In a further example of exactly why he's considered pop royalty, The Queen has also agreed to Macca taking a helicopter into the park.

That is something Aerosmith were denied in 2007.

My source added: "Paul wants to arrive in style so he's relaxed before he entertains his fans. The helicopter means he won't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic.

"Once he comes off stage he will have a police escort and a convoy of 10 cars to get him out of the park.

"There's a speed restriction set down by the Royal Parks which means fans could easily run up against Macca's vehicle."

Bono will be back on stage in a matter of weeks despite his recent emergency surgery, according to U2's manager Paul McGuinness.

The Irish rocker (50) was operated on after becoming temporarily paralysed -- forcing the band to cancel the start of the U.S. leg of their 360° Tour and their headline slot at Glastonbury.

An optimistic McGuinness told the Diary: "He's making a full recovery. The doctors told me he's going to be fine. It was serious surgery but we expect him to make a full recovery. He's pretty fit."

McGuinness said there was no reason to believe the tour's massive stage production had anything to do with the singer's injury.

"It's a big stage to run around, but no," he said. "I'll be very relieved when I see him running around the stage again. The European leg of the tour starts in Turin on August 6 and that has not been postponed.

"Rescheduling the American leg is quite difficult because it is an outdoor show; we can't do it in the winter because it's the northern hemisphere.

"So what we're doing now is trying to seek availability of the buildings that we had already pretty much sold-out, so we're getting availabilities and routing a coherent tour for next summer in the U.S. and Canada. We've nearly done it so I hope we'll be able to announce that shortly."

McGuinness insisted the rest of the band hasn't been enjoying an impromptu holiday while Bono recovers.

"No not really, they're doing some work and planning to do some recording. It never stops really," he said.

Paul McCartney To Broadcast Hard Rock Calling Gig Live Via YouTube

Sir Paul McCartney's performance at the Hard Rock Calling festival on Sunday (June 27) is to be streamed live via YouTube.

The former Beatle has teamed up with the BORN HIV FREE campaign to broadcast the set from London's Hyde Park.

Fans across the world will be able to watch from around 8:30pm GMT (2:30pm E.T). It will also remain on the BORN HIV FREE YouTube channel for a month after the show.

The campaign's ambassador Carla Bruni-Sarkozy said she hoped the concert would help "share our common belief in a world where all children can be born free from HIV".

BORN HIV FREE, along with The Global Fund, is aiming to create a world where no child is born with HIV by 2015.

Amy Winehouse, U2 and fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier are amongst its supporters. "

McCartney Refuses To Apologise For Bush Gag

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is refusing to apologise for a joke he made about former President George W. Busj during an appearance at the White House earlier this month.

The Beatles legend poked fun at the ex-leader's intellect as he became the first non-American to collect the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from Bush's successor, President Barack Obama on June 2nd.

McCartney said, "After the last eight years, it's great to have a President who knows where the library is."

The comments infuriated top U.S. politician John Boehner, who demanded McCartney make a public apology for the gag.

But the singer has now spoken out about the incident, insisting his comments shouldn't be taken so seriously - because it was just "a joke".

He says, "I said that on purpose. And now all this (criticism), like I'm going to care? It was a joke. Hello, anybody there? It's a joke.

"Has anyone ever watched Saturday Night Live? They joke about Bush all the time. As for a public apology, are they kidding? I was in two minds whether to say it and I actually waited until the President had gone because I didn't want to embarrass him or his family. But hey, come on, it's rock and roll. It wasn't a religious meeting and I'm allowed to make jokes."

" June 27, 2010 -- Digtal Spy

Beatle's star McCartney sees hope despite BP oil spill chaos

Former Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney sees some hope in BP oil slick saga and believes it can accelerate efforts directed towards search for alternative non-polluting renewable energy resources.

He called the spill a wake-up call saying "Sadly we need disasters like this to show people. Some people don't believe in climate warming - like those who don't believe there was a Holocaust."

In an exclusive interview with Sun, McCartney also categorically refuted negative comments directed towards President Barack Obama's efforts to curb the oil spill. He said, "I don't accept the criticism of Barack over the oil spill" and further added, "I think he's been great. It's tough if we Brits whinge that he's whingeing at us. Tough, then don't spill oil."

McCartney met Obama for the first time in an award ceremony last month where the President felicitated Sir Paul with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. McCartney is the only British singer and the third recipient of the exclusive award, which includes artists Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.

McCartney is an avowed environmentalist and animal rights supporter who recently extended his support to the anti-whaling campaign and is a patron of the Vegetarian Society.

His popularity does not seem to be waning as his upcoming first show in Philadelphia in Wachovia Center on August 14 was sold out in two-minutes; the fastest ever sell out at the Wachovia Center. "
