Macca date ticket mania
A mad scramble for tickets to see former Beatle Paul McCartney play his first Scottish gig for 20 years this summer is under way.
Pre-sale tickets via Sir Paul's website have almost sold out, with the best spots for the Hamden Park gig already snapped up.
American Express cardholders have used the early opportunity to reserve their place at the Sunday, June 20 event. But fans can apply for a new allocation of tickets from £55 from Sunday at 9am.
SECC's ticketing site TicketSoup will release the briefs to fans who register on its website. Tickets then go on sale to the general public on Monday.
The pop icon said: "I'm especially looking forward to playing in Glasgow as it's been quite a while.
"Scotland holds such a special place for me. I have loads of Scottish mates and so many great memories of being there. It's going to be a memorable and special night."
Paul's other performances in the Up And Coming tour include playing in Red Square, Russia and outside the Coliseum in Rome.
Paul, 67, played only one gig in the UK last year in London. His summer tour in 2009 also saw him play at New York's Citi Field Stadium, the old Shea Stadium site where The Beatles played in 1965.
