Right now there are only two dates on Paul McCartney’s “Up and Coming” 2010 schedule, but that’s enough to hint at an upcoming tour.

The two dates on Macca’s are March 28 in Glendale, Ariz., at the Jobing.com Arena and March 30 in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl.

" But even if Obama does not bomb Iran, that doesn't mean that no one else will. At the moment, when Washington is consumed by health care and the implications of the Massachusetts Senate special election, it may seem as if Obama's most important legacy, positive or negative, will be domestic. In the future, we may not consider any of this at all important. The defining moment of his presidency may well come at 2 a.m. some day, when he picks up the phone and is told that the Israeli prime minister is on the line: Israel has just carried out a raid on Iranian nuclear sites. What then? "

More Shows Added To Paul McCartney s Forthcoming Tour

Sun Life Stadium, Miami April 3rd 2010
Coliseo De Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico April 5th 2010

Second Show Added At Hollywood Bowl By Popular Demand

Hot-off-the-heels of announcing the first two concerts of Paul McCartney's forthcoming Up and Coming Tour (Glendale AZ on March 28th and Hollywood CA on March 30th), the rumour mill has gone into overdrive predicting where Macca and his band will turn up next.

The speculation ends today with the announcement of two shows that are set to be his hottest of the year. The first is at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami on April 3rd; the only Florida appearance of the tour, the April 3 gig is also Paul's first show in Miami since he launched his massive 2005 US Tour at Miami's American Airlines Arena five years ago. On April 5th Paul will play his first ever show in Puerto Rico.

In addition, unprecedented response to the presale for Paul's March 30 return to the Hollywood Bowl has necessitated the addition of a second show on March 31. Both shows will goon sale to the general public this Sunday, February 28.

These new dates are in keeping with Paul's huge headline making concerts over the last few years, where the world's biggest rock star has played to millions of people across the globe. These concerts have taken Paul to places he s never been before, unique settings, venues and locations, and these new dates are no exception.

The Arizona and California dates will be Paul s first US shows since his five - week Summer Live 09 tour last year, which was prefaced by a triumphant sold out headline set at the 2009 Coachella festival and a surprise performance for the Late Show with David Letterman on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater (inside which The Beatles made TV history decades ago) that drew throngs packing Broadway from Columbus Circle to Times Square. The Summer Live 09 tour began in earnest with an already legendary inaugural run of shows at New York's Citi Field Stadium, the site of the former Shea Stadium where The Beatles played the 1965 concert that set the precedent for the modern day stadium rock show. Critics hailed the Citi Field performances, seen by over 100,000 people, as the concert experience of a lifetime. Those performances were immortalized on last year s RIAA gold - certified multi - disc CD/DVD Good Evening New York City.

The new tour will feature a typically diverse set list, drawing on two hours plus worth of selections spanning the catalogues of The Beatles, Wings and Paul s solo career - including tracks from The Fireman's 2008 album Electric Arguments. There will be some never-before-played-on-US-soil songs added to the set list, as well as the US live premiere of (I Want To) Come Home, Paul's Golden Globe nominated track from the Robert De Niro movie Everybody's Fine .

More live shows to be announced soon. Keep checking in here

To purchase tickets (on sale Sunday 28th), go to Ticketmaster.com,Livenation.com or call 800-745-3000.

Dates so far:
Sunday, March 28th Jobing.com Arena, Glendale AZ
Tuesday, March 30th Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles CA
Wednesday, March 31st Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles CA
Saturday, April 3rd Sun Life Stadium, Miami FL

"Your source of data doesn't need to be high tech. In fact, it doesn't even need to be numerical. Consider Van Halen. (We have been waiting years for a chance to write that sentence.) In its 1980s heyday, the band became notorious for a clause in its touring contract that demanded a bowl of M&Ms backstage, but with all the brown ones removed. The story is true -- confirmed by former lead singer David Lee Roth himself -- and it became the perfect, appalling symbol of rock-star-diva behavior.

Get ready to reverse your perception. Van Halen did dozens of shows every year, and at each venue, the band would show up with nine 18-wheelers full of gear. Because of the technical complexity, the band's standard contract with venues was thick and convoluted -- Roth, in his inimitable way, said in his autobiography that it read "like a version of the Chinese Yellow Pages." A typical "article" in the contract might say, "There will be 15 amperage voltage sockets at 20-foot spaces, evenly, providing 19 amperes."

Van Halen buried a special clause in the middle of the contract. It was called Article 126. It read, "There will be no brown M&Ms in the backstage area, upon pain of forfeiture of the show, with full compensation." So when Roth would arrive at a new venue, he'd walk backstage and glance at the M&M bowl. If he saw a brown M&M, he'd demand a line check of the entire production. "Guaranteed you're going to arrive at a technical error," he wrote. "They didn't read the contract.... Sometimes it would threaten to just destroy the whole show."

In other words, Roth was no diva. He was an operations expert. He couldn't spend hours every night checking the amperage of each socket. He needed a way to assess quickly whether the stagehands at each venue were paying attention -- whether they had read every word of the contract and taken it seriously. In Roth's world, a brown M&M was the canary in the coal mine.

Like Roth, none of us has the time and energy to dig into every aspect of our businesses. But, if we're smart, we won't need to. What if we could rig up a system where problems would announce themselves before they arrived? That may sound like wishful thinking, but notice that it's exactly what Roth achieved. Surely, you won't be outwitted by the guy who sang "Hot for Teacher."

Where's the brown M&M in your business?"

Alex Van Halen is, no doubt, excited about the upcoming Van Halen album.

Van Halen drummer Alex Van Halen leaked the name of Van Halen’s new album, which would be their first new studio album in since the 1998 Van Halen III and their first in more than a quarter of a century with original frontman David Lee Roth. (The last Roth-era album was 1984, which has sold over 10 million copies).

The name? Encore.

“For years, people have been wanting to hear classic Van Halen,” said Alex, the older brother of guitarist Eddie Van Halen. “With Dave back in the mix, we tried to think of an appropriate name. Encore just seemed right.”

Other names the band considered were 2010 (due to its propensity towards numerical names), Yes, He 812 (a spoof of the Hagar-era album OU812), We’re Back! and Van Halen IV.

Alex added the band will head back into the studio later in the summer once Eddie returns from his honeymoon with Janie Liszewski.

“Ed has literally thousands of tapes of unreleased guitar riffs and songs, so with Dave’s vocals, we expect it shouldn’t take long to get the album made,” Alex added.

The album, of course, will feature Alex’s nephew and Eddie’s son Wolfgang on bass. It may also feature a bonus track of the guitar riff used in Back to the Future when Marty McFly–dressed as an alien–wakes his own father from a deep sleep.

Alex, an ordained minister who will officiate in the marriage of Eddie and Janie in June, said the album will be out in 2010.

Sir Paul McCartney set to play Glasgow gig for first time in 20 years

Beatles legend Paul McCartney is heading back to Glasgow for the first time in 20 years.

We can exclusively reveal the superstar will play a massive gig in the city this summer.

Top-secret details won't be unveiled for another 48 hours but Sir Paul will headline Hampden Park on June 20.

Macca, 67, plans to end (???) his 50 - year live career with a huge farewell tour performing in venues where he has not previously appeared - and our national stadium is No.1 on his hit list.

His spectacular show comes two decades - almost to the day - after he last played here. On June 23, 1990, the singer rocked the SECC as part of Glasgow's celebrations as European City of Culture. Originally, the show was to be staged at the adjacent Queen's Dock but was switched to the indoor venue.

A McCartney insider said: "Paul has always loved playing in Glasgow since his early days with The Beatles. He has a great affection for Scotland and his home in Mull of Kintyre in particular.

"He went to High Park Farm when the group split and spent many happy times there with his late wife Linda and their children. The Hampden show will spark off many emotions and memories for him.

"There have been a few missed opportunities over the years but Paul is thrilled Hampden is the venue. He loves Scotland and wants to play there again. It will be one of his greatest gigs ever."

His Hampden show is long overdue.

In 2003, McCartney disappointed Scottish fans when a gig planned for Celtic Park - part of his Back To The World tour - was shelved.

McCartney kicks off his latest tour with gigs in America, including two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in California on March 30 and 31, a venue for concerts by The Beatles in 1964 and 1965. Macca's farewell tour will last right up to his 70th birthday.

Since 1990, he's clocked up 800,000 miles gigging, playing in more than 22 countries. He still holds the world record as a solo act for performing in front of the largest paying audience, rocking 184,000 at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the same year.

He will thrill fans at Hampden with a new (???) stage show which features classic Beatles hits such as Drive My Car, A Day In The Life, Hey Jude and Get Back.

McCartney first played Scotland when The Beatles backed singer Johnny Gentle on a tour in the early '60s. The Fab Four toured extensively north of the Border and he also played several gigs with Wings, including memorable dates at the Glasgow Apollo.

Full details of his Hampden Park gig will be announced within days. "

" In the days before the 1967 Six-Day War, when our soldiers were sitting for weeks doing nothing under the burning sun, with Egypt threatening to attack, Moshe Dayan was finally appointed defense minister and everyone awaited his decision. But in his first meeting with foreign correspondents, he was ambiguous - "It's too late to act militarily and too soon to sum up diplomatic efforts."

The journalist Winston Churchill (grandson of the British premier) decided he was wasting his time and that same night flew back to London, while our planes were on their way to bomb the Egyptian air force.

Israel's reputation is built on deterrence. Iran, full of itself, could presume that we will not act or we will not be allowed to act. But good intelligence on their part can depend on precedents where we did act in similar circumstances. "
