Keith's coolest boots

I love boots. No laces, but no big heels or pointy toes either. Just got a new pair of the ones I've always worn -- they have to be Red Wing Wellingtons (it's a Maryland Eastern Shore thing). Fourth pair in the same style since high school (they last!) My new pair is are tan suede with black soles. Previously I've had darker brown leather and light brown leather.

Just so happens Dylan had just such a pair in the Village in 62, in which he was frequently photographed. If they weren't Red Wings, they should have been. Oldest continuous manufacturer of boots in the States, since 1905. A quality products.

Turning to Keith, his boots from that scene in Gimme Shelter were mighty cool (though Brian had the same pair), as were that huge pair he wore in 75 (and apparently would crash without the benefit of their removal). But that soft suede pair in 81 was a crucial part of his look (arguably the last appearance of the non-poseur, "real" Keith.) Please inform of any cool Keith boots I've missed. I left out the 64-65 Beatle boots because they were trendy at the time, something Our Hero rarely is.

Alright people, let's talk boots.

They show up as brown on my videos, and I never thought they did anything for his outfits. Bring back snakeskin!

All my books are in storage at the moment, and I'm too dumb to post images, anyway. They were almost up to the knee with big heels and a squarish toe. Almost biker boots but not quite. A lot of similar boots had the brass ring at the ankle, but these didn't.

My favorite is the boots from '69, I remember I bought a pair of snakeskin shoes in around '71 that were 3'' high (before all this platform shoes came on the scene with Glitter rock) I couldn't find the boots but I got the shoes, I have to say I've watched "Gimme Shelter" so many times (I've got the DVD) that I know all the lines (spoken words) in the movie before they even say it.
