NFL Free Agent madness starts in 12 hours.....

Ray Lewis to Jets/Dallas?
Haynsworth to Bucs/Redskins?
Houshyourmomma to Eagles/Seahawks?
Brown (ravens center) to Vikes/Colts?

As usual as a Steeler fan its bye bye time:
McFadden
Leftwhich
Smith
etc etc

I think there could be a large sucking sound up I-95 from Balmer to the NYJ's.....

See Ya Winslowpud:

The new regime of the Cleveland Browns made its first major move this offseason by trading former Pro Bowl tight end Kellen Winslow on Friday for undisclosed draft picks.
Kellen Winslow put together a solid stat-line, but hurt the Browns with some costly plays.

Winslow, the sixth overall pick in the 2004 draft and son of Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow Sr., played in 44 games and recorded 219 receptions for 2,459 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Browns are starting over with their roster under a new head coach in Eric Mangini and a new general manager in George Kokinis.

"The Cleveland Browns thank Kellen for his contributions to this organization over the past five years," Kokinis said in a statement. "We appreciate his passion for the game and wish him success in Tampa Bay.

"The draft picks we have obtained through this deal will give us greater flexibility as we look to infuse more talent and create competition and depth on this football team." Cleveland has two tight ends left under contract in backups Martin Rucker and Steve Heiden.

James Walker covers the AFC North for ESPN.com.

Did they trade him for a palm tree to be named later?

Browns nation wishes him the best. But let's hope he doesn't ride his motorcycle to Tampa.

The 'Skins spent a lot of cash on one guy today.  Will this win the Redskins a Supe?  Nope.  Never.

How many big name free agents will the Stillers pick up?  Zip.  Who has a better chance to win the Supe next year, Redskins or Steelers?  Yeah I thought so.  It is Omar Kahn time.

It was a great win for the Terps.  A huge win.  NC and  Duke are the darlings of the press and are always overated.

Thanks for good words about Pitt coaches.   Howland turned the Pitt program around, with no players.   He went to UCLA.  Jamie Dixon was not the new coach wanted by the fans and the boosters.  Pitt offered Skip Prosser the cash.  He declined.  Jamie Dixon was signed for a cheap price.  Skip Prosser, well, rest in peace.

No prob.  Tough loss tonight, refs are gheyer than Walt Coleman at a crucial AFCN game (-;.  But I really do hope Pitt does well this year, they deserve it.  And please beat the snot outta UCONN, IDK about you but they're on my "bottom 5" with Duke, the Yankees, AIDS, and burnt bagels.

Wait...You hate Duke, and the Yanks?  Well Goddamn, I always knew there was some good in you.

Your right Pop. So I dedicate this to Danny Snyder:

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team

Belichik presser today.
Talk about Fred Taylor & Chris Baker signings.
Probable discussion about the great contribution
Mike Vrable made over 8 years here.
Discussion towards anything else, well, you know
what to expect....

I'll take an informal poll to ask.....

As the 2008/2009 season has officially drawn to a close
with the start of free agency, should this thread be retired,
a new one started?

Thanks, but hating NYY should be a nationwide feeling.  As for Duke, well, that goes with rooting for UMD.  I have a feeling the Cassel trade was for a 2nd and a 3rd, a 1st is too much for a 1 year wonder.

I'm sorry, however, we're not at liberty to discuss any matters involving any members of our
team.  Matt Cassell was recently designated as a franchise player by our team.  Matt proved to be a valuable member of our team last year, taking over a role which was forced upon him unexpectedly.
He handled himself very well.  We expect Matt to be part of our 2008-2009 team.

Looks like it's a done deal:

The Kansas City Chiefs have acquired quarterback Matt Cassel from New England for an undisclosed draft pick, a league source confirmed. Speculation was that the Chiefs surrendered a first-round pick in this year's draft, but that is inaccurate said the source. He did not specify what the choice was. Cassel, who was New England's franchise player, becomes the starting quarterback for the Chiefs, and it's appropriate. Their new GM is former New England vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli.

Getting both Cassel and Vrabel for a second round pick is still a good deal for the Chiefs...
