'if you can't speak english get the fuck out of the country' so cried the 60 year old rifle waving uncle ted last night at the chance in poughkeepsie.
for a sixty year old fuck, his drummer and bass guitar play the guys put on, what i thout a great show last night.. its amazing how much noice three guys can create. ted sang thru a headset all night. the drummer was poised on a huge drum riser in the center of the stage and the bass player was on the right side. the backdrop was a huge picture of ted wearing a cut off denim shirt with a oval patch with the initial nra on it and he was pointing at you. it was a bare stage and not much of a light show but these guys put on an awesome 2 hour balls to the wall rock and roll show last night. i was suprised, rather amazed.
the opening act was a very attractive headbanging chick named alex winston and her band...this chick could do the head shake with her long brown locks like nobodys business. the did 4-5 songs. when it was time for ted to come out the lights went dim and then they played 1 of his preconcert song over the radio [i forget which one it was] and then the played street fighting man for about 1/2 the song and then the lights went really dim and the curtain rose and on came uncle ted.
and the rest is history.
this much i remember....................bud's were 4 dollars. water 1 dollar
the first song was snake skin cowboy which lasted like some 20 minutes and then they did a 20 minute wango tango and then into free for all. then they played a bunch of songs... the last 2 songs were cat scratch fever and then a great stranglehold...note for note.
even for the weary or the casual fan i say if they are coming to your neck of the woods go and see them.
