POP legend MARIANNE FAITHFULL is taking six months off after collapsing because of ill health.
She was given the all-clear from breast cancer in November 2006 but is now suffering from "general mental, physical and nervous exhaustion".
Her spokesman said doctors had ordered her to "cease all work activities and rehabilitate" and that "the treatment and recovery should last around six months".
SIR MICK JAGGER is among those who sent messages of support to 61-year-old Miss Faithfull's central Paris flat.
She became a household name as the ROLLING STONES singer's lover in the Sixties.
A near neighbour in Paris said: "She is in a very bad way and we are very worried about her."

I know the Sun is has a questionable rep for credibility.
Anyone else hear or read anything about this???
Goddamn it. What next???

The Sun may have a reputation for exaggeration when it suits them, etc, but they do have a good track record for exclusives and for unearthing stuff where the bare bones of a story may well be correct. They wouldnt have the readership that they have if their stories were consistently 100% wrong.
Marianne's not exactly on their radar for sensationalism in the way a story about Amy Winehouse or Pete Doherty would be, so no reason to presume they're making it up.
The neighbour's comment would suggest things arent too good. Never heard 'exhaustion' described so alarmingly before. Hope she gets well soon.
